10 year old wife gets divorced after being raped and beaten
issy2 replied to Happysniff's topic in Off-Topic
shouldn't beat her too much? Are you sure you phrased that right? :? As for the first bit in underlined... you say you think it's fine for parents to choose who girls spend the rest of their life with, who they're going to marry and have a family with? The girl herself said it - she didn't want to leave home. She was scared. It is ever right to take a young child away from her family if she doesnt want to go? Sure they may have financial problems but if it was me I'd rather be poor than homesick. As far as I'm concerned, while a moral 'code-of-conduct' may not be 100% universal all around the world, there are certainly some boundaries which should never be crossed. Some things will always be wrong, no matter which country, family, or community they happen in, and no amount of 'It's their culture!' will ever change that. -
Seems pretty stupid. Killing some of the replys in this, kills some good advice. People could go through the thread first, to see if theres anything to help them, however, you just got rid of parts which could be useful to some people. Lol come on. Everyone says the same thing anyway...

So you have to go spamming up another topic to get your point across? There's already a topic for discussion about that. A marriage between a ten year old girl and a thirty year old man, where the girl relies upon him for a home, safety and financial security until she comes of age... This may be OT but why not just call it adoption? -
Standard Poodle and Pomeranian=Good Family Mix? (Dogs)
issy2 replied to Kenshinjapan's topic in Off-Topic
That may be true for many dogs, but it'd be ridiculous to apply it to all of them. But then again, if your dog is lonely it might be a good idea, I don't know. I just think that you have to be careful not to give your first dog the feeling of being replaced. So it boils down to - do you think he would get on with the poodle, or would they be jealous of each other? If not then go for it! :D -

However morbid this may sound, I wouldn't get a poodle until your first dog is dead. Especially when he's old (and 16 is pretty much as old as it gets for most dogs) he needs looking after and attention. He'd probably get very jealous... our dog would, she gets pretty paranoid about other dogs especially in her home territory. The last thing you want is for a dog to feel neglected or replaced in his old age. If I were you I'd wait a while :) -
[hide=] [/hide] Nice, well put and very clever argument :) As for the bit in bold, though - the simple fact is, that people aren't using guns solely for self defence. If they were there wouldn't be 5000+ child deaths every year in the US due to firearms. Obviously people have a right to self defence - but no-one should have that right if they cant be trusted to use their weapons wisely - which it looks as though they can't. Plus, it's probably not the 80 year old ladies, or shy potential mugging victims who carry guns, is it? I am in no way attempting to criticise anyone, but doesn't it say something about your society, or at least what your society will push you to do, that you have to carry a killing machine with you to feel safe? That can't be right... :?

It might be this...not sure though. [hide=] [/hide]

I've done non-electrical inventions :D Whipped cream. Who would have guessed? If you stir it for 10 minutes it sticks together... Other than that, there's this thing the Egyptians used to do to move really heavy blocks of stone. They'd get tons of long thin cylinders/rollers (dunno what they were made out of... not even sure if I've got the right ancient civilisation) put them on the ground, and just roll the blocks along with not very much effort. So simple yet so clever!

But it was her parents who forced her into the marriage... if it had been her choice, she wouldn't have got into that mess at all. I really admire her though, standing up for herself and trying to change things. That was a very brave thing to do, especially if it's common in her culture. -

Can I just ask a Q to the mods - not trying to criticise or get across a point, just like to know the answer - If Tipit is a so-called family friendly forum, how come you have to be 13+ to join? -
can you remember any other words? It's doesnt have to be whole verses, honestly just one or two words could get you the name?

Sorry I feel the urge to jump in and defend my country :P The American Population - roughly 300,000,000 people. (Source - https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/us.html) The British Population - roughly 70,000,000 people. (Source - https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/uk.html) Therefore, even if you make up for the difference in population; 70 million goes into 300 million let's say 5 (I know, it's actually four and a bit...) times, multiply 19 by five is less than a hundred people. I'm pretty sure that's correct but I'm not very good at maths! Assuming it is, theoretically even if Britain had the same sized population as America, over 5000 more American children would have died due to firearms. Yes Britain is having big problems with gun/knife crime, 20 teenagers have been killed in the last year, but that's not very much in comparison to over 35 university students killed in university shooting sprees alone. Also the illegality of guns and knifes make it easier for police to crack down on. If someone can own a gun, the police can't do anything until it's too late. If guns were illegal in the US, they could at least attempt to stop the problem before it takes place.

Are you sure? :( :P love this game

People don't have this problem in other countries, unless 'rural' means really really really far away from the nearest police station I don't see why America should be any different. And hey, who cares about protecting a few possessions, if legal ownership of guns causes so many problems and so many deaths?
-
I mean no disrespect to Americans or America, (although I've never lived there, so ... ) but I personally would not be happy to live in a country where anyone could carry guns. As far as I can see it makes for a pretty hostile environment, maybe many people depend on their weapons. Knife crime is a massive problem in Britain at the mo, everyone's pretty scared about it. Knives are illegal, and there's been something like 20 murders in London since January? I hate to think what it would be like if they were legal... Again as I said, I don't mean to criticise, knives are no better, but if the below facts are true (debatable) it's pretty damning evidence... [hide=] [/hide]
