I'm still available for exhibition matches. First first round result: Necromagus defeated kcdragon8116 in a hard-hitting duel (that was determined entirely by one errant critical hit).

Alright, I've posted the brackets in the opening post. I'll be sending out PMs to all participants soon. The first round results will be due before midnight GMT, Sunday, July sixth. This will give players time to get used to the team builder and the game's interface.

Regarding IVs: The game will assume 31 for each stat, then adjust should you chose a Hidden Power other than Dark 70.

Exactly. In the Third generation Wobuffet got the Shadow Tag ability, which means that no Pokémon can switch out while it's in battle. With great defenses and HP it can come in, Encore a move, then kill with the appropriate counter move. It's even worse when it Encores a stat-up move, and it's almost impossible to kill without it taking at least one of your Pokémon with it.

As some of you may or may not know, there is a little program called Shoddy that allows you to simulate Pokémon battles on any PC that supports Java Virtual Machine. Since there seem to be quite a few people who play the Pokémon games, I thought it might be interesting to set up a series of tournaments using this little application. If there is enough interest, the first tournament will be an OU tournament tier. If this tournament is a success, I will set up tournaments using different rules (Ubers, Little Cup, etc.). To keep things manageable, the first tournament will be open to eight people. To participate, please post your username and your timezone.[hide=Getting started with Shoddy]1a. They can't publish their penis monsters because they will be quickly removed and the game isn't a MMORPG as far as I know so even if they do create them no one except of the person playing is going to see them. They will get tired of creating penis monsters anyways, so I don't think it's a big problem.Actually, in the full version of the game the world will get populated with randomly chosen creatures from other players. Unless they have moderators watching stuff 24/7, I don't think they can guarantee a 100% penismonster free world.

I'm really hoping for the right Black Sabbath song to get added to the lineup. Something like Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath would be a real pain for the vocalist.

...which is why I have five other Pokémon on my team to cover those weaknesses. I'm obviously not going to let Empoleon sit around on something like a Breloom or a Staraptor.

I've had some magnificent sweeps recently with a Swords Dance Empoleon, the great-grandchild of my original starter. 1 immunity, 9 2x resistances, 2 4x resistances, 2 neutrals and 3 2x weaknesses. Brilliant typing.

The whole 'click on a random citizen to hear what they have to say' feature is awesome. It's a solid city building game, although I always prefer the non-military levels.

Pfft, my interest in metal began with Within Temptation, Ice Queen to be precise. My interest in the female voice began with a rap song called Prince Igor (Don't know the artist off the top of my head), which featured samples of the Russian opera of the same name.

Early Theatre of Tragedy would be a good choice (Before Liv Kristine left).

Looks like we might be missing Boulahrouz for the rest of the tournament... his daughter was born prematurely yesterday, and died in the hospital today. He said he wanted to play against Russia, but I can't see him being in much shape after that :(

A title to check out would be Puzzle Quest. It basically an RPG with combat that plays like Bejeweled, only in stead of points you pay for mana to power your abilities (as well as direct damage, bonus XP and GP).

This isn't the first time a major game design studio got into trouble over its labour policies. There was a pretty major incident with EA a few years ago too. I guess this is bound to happen with a relatively new business suddenly becoming so huge pretty much overnight.
