Hey guys, I'm not trying to copy your paper. I didn't even know you had one untill I was ready to post here. I don't come to general too often. I had an idea to make a tabloid website almost a year ago, but have been busy to spend too much time working on it. I just wanted to post here first, then if it's popular enough, pay to build a site with the ads removed. The tribune seems like a really nice paper. And it has real stories, current events, and interviews. Mine is more fictitious stories, and possibly some cartoons. If you still choose not to believe me, that's your choice.

aaron1120 sent me a message saying he would remove the links while he checks them to make sure they are safe, and let everyone know they could download safely. But I haven't heard anything else from since I sent him a message back saying I would really appreciate that. So if there are any other mods that would be willing to do this, I would appreciate it.

HAHA the tooth pick would be halarious.

Well, if they only drop a couple bolt tips at a time, they won't be that great. They'll be ok, but not as good as a whole dragonstone. And I'm not sure how great the dragon bitter is. What does it do again?
-
I can think of some junk that would be common drops. Dragon Scales, anti dragon shield, baby dragon bones, Dragon bitter, Dragon bitter(M), dragon bolt tips, drunk dragon cocktails. Then for ok rewards there are snapdragons, snapdragon seeds, dragonhide armors, dragon stone jewelry. Just search dragon in the item database, it's already quite long, and they are adding arrows and darts. I don't think they have to add new junk items with dragon in the name. However, I am interested in what some of the other imps will be. Not as excited, but curious.

As long as I don't have to go that far out of my way, I'm more than glad to help. But I don't give anything to beggars. Beggars can make more than you think. My mom watches Dr. Phil alot. One time they were doing a show about poor people, and they had one guy dress up as a homeless person and go beg on the streets. After 1 hour, he made 20 bucks. Now, I realize in a city were the cost of living might be a bit high (I think they did this in NY, not sure though), $20 an hour might not be that great. But when I work my butt off, and make half that, minus taxes, it makes me think I chose the wrong job. Anyway, if turning down beggars makes you feel that guilty, just take time every now and then to go to Lumbridge and gives stuff to real Newbies. I used to save all my iron and steel drops from slayer to give out. Now my bank is too full to store that extra junk.

I was afraid people would think that. I have another rar host that shows the contents of rar files. Would you be more comfortable with that? I also went and cleaned out alot of files. Mostly dreamweaver templates. I also got rid of the images/working folder, since it had some unneeded photoshop files, and a shortcut file (.lnk). Not only did those have some odd file formats that some people might not recognize, but .lnks and .psds are pretty large. I dropped the file size from over a meg to 106 kbs. They file crunch link still has alot of those extra files. So, just don't download from file crunch.

The Gazette now has it's own homepage. gielinorgazette.com. The following browsers have been tested and seem to show the site as intended. If your browser does not display the site properly let me know so I can try to fix it. Windows: Firefox 2.0 Mac: Safari 1.3.2 on Mac OS X Linux: Epiphany 2.14 on PLD Linux Galeon 2.0.2 on PLD Linux Iceweasel 2.0.0.3 on Debian Etch Konqueror 3.5.5 on Debian Etch Browsers tested using browsershots.org Appears to have some minor bugs in IE 6.0 that I will try to work out. My second issue will be much larger than this, and have more content.

Ever notice there are assignments to kill dogs, but not cats? It's propaganda. The cats are behind Jagex, trying to convince us to follow them. It's all part of their great scheme to take over the world. Dogs are the protectors. They saved Egypt from cat enslavement, and now the cats are trying to turn us against them. Seriously, I'm gunna put together alot of stuff about this to make a nice conspiracy theory. In fact, it made the first edition of my tabloid.

Well, I suppose they could add super strong weapons (Like the god weapons, supposedly the staff of Amadryl (sp?) is super uber) and even stronger monsters and bosses. They could add something like "The power of Zamorak will not allow this weapon in the wilderness" and "I'm sorry, we don't allow weapons like that in the dueling arena" since we don't wan't weapons that could possibly 1 hit players with HP capes. Besides, if they are super strong one of a kind legendary weapons, it doesn't make since to have a bunch of people fighting each other with them. Also, I'm sure there are plenty of things pkers would like added to the wilderness.

I'm sure mages will complain about range being too overpowered. It seems like the people that complain the most about one class being overpowered is the class that is supposed to be weak against it. Of course rangers are going to tear up mages. But what I believe the biggest complaint will be mages saying rangers got an update, warriors already have a ton, mage needs a good combat update, we are underpowered.

Not true. Those letters reveal upcoming updates all the time. Haven't you ever read the letters of the Chaos Elemental? And from the looks of things, I fail to see where you think there's a new weapon coming out Lakitsym_Rose. They say "the very weapons that make you strong..." which suggests Dragonkin are the creators of Dragon Weapons, and those already exist. It definitely sounds like they'll be releasing the Dragonkin stronghold eventually though. Meaning the better the weapons they introduce the closer they get to introducing Kin? First of all, the postbag from the hedge has given hints on upcoming updates. And not just from the chaos elemental. I think there was at least one from the drunken dwarf. That being said, I'm not usually one to read into updates. They said the weapons that are making us strong bring their return closer. Them being related to dragon weapons does make since. And there are new dragon weapons coming. Still, don't hold your breath. I'm not gunna start thinking the kin are coming at least until a BTS mentions a sequel to tail of 2 cats.

Yeah, there are fish you can keep in a fishbowl, but all they every really do is waste bank space. They are more useless than cats. This would give them a use.

I did just work feeding into the idea on the RS forums. If you have a servant, they are automatically fed every day. If you don't have a servant, you have to feed them at least once every 24 hours. And the thing about it not being about fishing wasn't directed at you. On the official forums, alot of people read the title, jumped to the conclusion that it was what I was suggesting, and shot it down saying it would make autoing too easy. I was just trying to avoid that here. I have added alot of ideas to the official forums. Go there and check them out.

trunksrs replied to None2None's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I think it seems like a pretty neat idea, but it's just way to complicated for RuneScape, especially the way trading works here. Maybe if we can set up stalls or little stores in RuneScape, it would work, but for right now I just think it's too complicated to be workable. -
Ok, I just wanted to clear something up. In the official forums, it seems alot of people are reading the title, and assuming I am talking about added fishing spots to the POH. I think this is a HORRIBLE idea. I AM TALKING ABOUT PET FISH. Right now they are pretty worthless and do nothing but take up bank space. (Although fluffers it good at doing tricks. You should watch her swim on command!) And Gehackte, I was thinking about feeding and breeding them, but I think it would just get way to complicated for RuneScape. Also, I will soon start working on ideas for new pet fish locations and types.

This is a suggestion I posted on the RS forums. I got the idea from a guy ranting about the cruelty of stray dogs in Varrock. Anyway: First, I want to say that I wasn't sure if this should go in the asterisk sticky, or be it's own post, because it's about pets, but it's not really the same repeated suggestion that the asterisk sticky is for, new pets people would like to see and what not. However, if a mod feels that this belongs in the sticky instead, just tell me, and I will add it there and this thread can be locked. Anyway, my idea is to be able to build aquariums in the parlor room. Then you could use your pet fish on the aquarium to add fish to it. It would have an option to watch the fish, which would allow you to view the aquarium close up. In build mode, the home owner would have a right click option to remove a fish. He or she would need the tiny net and a prepared fishbowl to do so. You would start with a low level aquarium made from wood, nails, and glass, that holds only 1 or 2 fish. Then higher levels could make oak, teak, mahogany, and marble aquariums and stands, possibly even a gilded aquarium, each allowing you to have more fish. This would require some new pet fish to be added, perhaps in some new areas. For example, when the eastern lands are added, they could have rice patties where you can catch bettas. Now, some of you might be asking, "What is the point of this?" Well, I thought it would mainly be a nice little aesthetic addition. Some types and colors of fish could be rarer than others, so you could show off your rare fish collection. But there could be some very nice uses. There could be some very rare varieties of pet fish. For example, in the shop where you get pet fish now, there could be a very rare golden fish. Or perhaps the rice patties I suggested could have a very rave colored betta. These rare fish would give added bonuses when in your tank. For example, the rare goldfish could give you a small boost to the money you gain threw alchemy while inside the house. Or the betta, aka Siamese Fighting Fish, could give a boost to strength and attack while inside. Of course there would be other rare fish to. Perhaps one that gives a small boost to prayer exp when offering bones, one to give you a small herblore boost, perhaps a carpentry boosting fish, things like that. Again, these fish would be very rare. Depending on which aquarium you have, there will be a limit to how many special fish you can have. A normal wooden one is "not big enough" to house one, oak and teak can hold only one, mahogany and marble can hold 2, and gilded can hold 3. If you try to add more than your aquarium can hold, you will get a message something like "I am afraid they will fight if I add that". To activate their bonuses, you simply watch the fish. Then, when you stop viewing them, you get a message saying something like "The tranquility of the fish in the aquarium leaves you feeling rejuvenated." I was thinking you would only be able to have 1 aquarium, so if you have 2 or more parlors, there could also be a statue or something you could build in the aquarium spot. Or, if multiple aquariums are allowed, only the bonuses from 1 aquarium will be activated at a time. So, that's my idea. What do people think? Maybe eventually you can go try to tame the dogs to keep them as a new pet. Jagex does seem a bit interested to adding new pets to the game. Oh! I just had an idea. Completely off topic, sorry, but it's about pets. They should add the ability to build an aquarium in your house. Then you could put the fish you catch in fishbowls in the aquarium for a bit of decoration. They are pretty useless now. Anyway, back on topic. I really don't think there is anything wrong with this.

Should Jagex make RS a one-server game?
trunksrs replied to Ginger_Warrior's topic in General Discussion
I think alot of people are missing the point here. He isn't saying RuneScape should only have 1 server. He's saying it should be more like other games. You create a new account. You go to log in. You are shown a list of 150 or so servers. You choose server 37. From then on, that character can only ever log in to server 37. -
Well, I was going to just drop this and let the arguement die. But since it just got bumped, there is one argument I still wish to make against the book. I did not post earlier because I could not bring any specific evidence for my side, but now I have it. On the contrary -- the fact that they are nearly identical goes against your argument. Copyright law covers clearly derivative works, which the cover certainly is. If it had been used without permission, the author of the book would be wide open to a lawsuit. And you can be sure that Scholastic's lawyers wouldn't let any images be used without permission. Finally, do you own the book? I bet not, or you wouldn't be making these foolish arguments. It is filled with pictures and descriptions taken from the game and KB. Originally, my why original argument was something like: Go to the toy aisle at the Dollar Tree. You will see plenty of toys that are obviously remakes of other copyrighted franchises, yet they can make their own reproductions because they make minute changes. I recently realized a much better, very specific example. Action Replay. This prodcut is not made or endorsed by Nintendo (or any of the other companies they make cheats for). In fact, using one actually violates the EULA (which is why no one should have gotten in trouble for "hot coffee", but that is a different arguement.) on most games, and completely voids any warranties by Nintendo. However, in the very front, it says things like "Made for DS and DS Lite, Includes codes for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, ect." which is using Nintendo's trademarks. Then, just for a tab bit of an extra eye catcher, at the bottom of the package, are the 2 pokemon on the covers of the new games. But they are so off of the original pictures that they are not copyright violations. I'm not trying to say that Jagex's hands are completely clean from this book. When you write to inform, you need sources. Contacting staff members and asking for some information is to be expected. But unless they contacted Tracy West, and said "We want you to right us a guide targeted at preteens and publish it through scholastic", they didn't do anything wrong. West wrote the book, and chose a publisher. Scholastic chose the suggested age for the book.
