I don't believe a protest would help. I'm sure they thought about it quite a bit before their decision and has one ever helped before? Maybe but not that I'm aware of so fill me in if it has please. Anyways we'll find out in a few days if Jagex does go ahead with it or not. I wouldn't take part but enjoy yourselves to those who do.

I voted how I voted. I can honestly say I do not care if F2P has HS. (And like you have been, Please do not continue to include my vote in the against area because I'm indifferent.) It doesn't bug me in the least and I'm sure Jagex made their choice before they told anyone about it. I don't think they were like 'Errr. Well maybe we'll do it, Lets see what others think'. If so, They would have asked wouldn't have they? One would think so. Is it 100% fair? Probally not but then again what in life is? Also for newcomers it could help in the sense they wouldn't feel so far behind, Bogged down by far less accounts when they decide to try and get ranks on the high scores. Right now over 100k people with 99hp, that does seem a bit much doesn't it? Also new players wouldn't be bothered by the lack of high scores as they never had them. Its the diehard F2Pers who are effected and not really anyone else. Im not too worried about them personally because they CHOOSE to seperate themselves from the rest of the runescape community. Nobody forces them to. To be honest I can't wait for the update to just happen so people can stop fighting about it but if you honestly think this poll will change Jagex's mind, you may as well ragequit now. C-ya in a few weeks. :)

I agree 100% about the jobless response. Also its meant for the sense they don't become homeless as once someones homeless it would be even harder for them to get a job don't you think? Bad thing to compare it to. As for F2P paying in ad fees, it might only cover their bandwith? I doubt Jagex is pulling in enough to pay their programmers based off viewing ads. I bet most have never even clicked an ad, thb. IF you have, good for you but I still feel the majority doesn't and wouldn't. ..And some even complain about them being there.

I can actually see the fact that they're hiding inactive accounts and such as being better for competition. I mean sure, It would be nice to remember the top players but besides the first or second to the top nobody seems to remember them anyways. Can anyone, for example tell me the third player to max melees in classic? Also for the new player I believe it wouldn't be such a daunting task. I mean I wouldnt enjoy being level 40wc and looking at the current high scores. Also its not Jagex seperating the game I very much believe its the hardcore F2P players. I mean a natural progression would normally end in someone getting membership if they enjoy the content and I'm sure Jagex would rather those type of players. I mean they have to pay their bills somehow, right?

Once again, for posters like the above who can't seem to grip facts Jagex never claimed that there was no F2P Community. They said most were bots (Who can say that wasn't true?) and they are more worried about the game as a whole. If you don't wanna be excepted, maybe don't alienate yourself? Jagex wants RS as a whole not cater to a select few who seperate themselves'. Try diying, It'll be even more of a challange. I can't understand why in any way a business would want to support people who never plan to to help the business advance. Oh and suffer through ads? Grow up, surfing the web must be a painful experience for you. If you don't like the service you're provided feel free to move on. After all, thats what people do. Isn't it?

Jagex never stated the fact that no F2P community was possible. They simply stated that it was mostly bots (true) and there is a massive amount of inactive accounts on the high scores (Also true). For those F2Pers that went above and beyond Jagex recognizes it F2P or not atleast at this point (And I hope they do) they plan to keep ranks ^.

But you must understand that Jagex is a business. They have payout and other things to deal with and since bots got removed, I will agree that it probally did hit Jagex right in the wallet. Did it help them or the player more? I think the questions answer should be loud and clear to everyone. To be honest F2P runescape is lucky in the sense that the free game while about 1/2 the content or so of P2P you can play to your hearts content. Theres no limits that end your gameplay at 30 or 50 skill level or a 30 day trial. The fact that so very many of you achieved such high rankings/levels expresses the fact that its a solid playable free mmorpg. Also I understand your point BUT I must say that I don't understand why you can't be part of the F2P community and support a game you clearly enjoy because without support the game wouldn't be around. Those ads you see probally doesn't help Jagex nearly as much as you think it would. Nobody forces you to take part in member skills or such unless you want to. Give a little back for all the weeks/years of entertainment you've enjoyed. ADD ON: Btw I read through the post after you pointed it out and I really agree with the first point. I don't get seperating yourself could just be me but If you want a challange why not DIY? I had to post the second part because of all the raging Ive seen on forums about it. Jagex has it covered.

True although things change. Recently Jagex did a great thing of banning the bots. This greatly reduced the player number as many players/botters quit. Rather then have tons of inactive (And possibly botted) accounts clogging the high scores Jagex felt the need to make this change. It doesn't bother me either way to be honest and I don't see why its such a big issue for a loyal player who has been getting free entertainment for years to pay $5 a month for extra content and features. I mean the majority ranting are rather high skilled so you know what the game is about and must enjoy it or else you wouldn't currently be playing. Can any of you give an actual legit reason why you wouldn't pay other then simply not feeling like it? Cause the first poster just seems like a huge raging troll to be honest.

Do you know what a game demo is? They normally limit your play time, runescape doesn't do this. As a person who contributes nothing to the business's economical aspects, I would be happy with what I'm handed. You F2Pers make it sound like $5 for a month of endless entertainment is a lot to ask for.

Wow is all I really have to say. For getting years of FREE entertainment, you sure don't seem appreaciative. Heck, You don't even care enough to help the game you've been playing advance. You would rather sit back and wait for handouts. This is the fan base Jagex should cater to and continue to support even when they don't get any support in return? Get over it, Jagex is a business and businesses like to make money. F2P I say isn't a demo because the fact you can enjoy the content for an unlimited amount of time. Also you can advance about 1/2 the skills all the way to the max level. When I think demo I think of like a level 30 skill limit or 30 hour play limit. That would be a demo. If you want more content then by all means, go without a subway sub or that 6 pack and grab a month of membership, It'll save you money too. :) The only downside I see is for the players who went above and beyond and got 200k exp in a skill. It would have been nice if they were allowed to keep their rank somehow, even if in just that skill however as a whole I don't see it as being too negative.

So many amazing players have been broughten up here. I still remember as a noob watching Alchemon pound away on black knights. Imagine training to 99 attack on knights today? lol. Its too bad Jagex never did anything in game to help newer players look back on their accomplishments.

I netflix or project free tv it up. Just split my screen into half, videos at the bottom and runescape at the top. Aside from that I read forums but I try to avoid it a bit more because I find it steals my attention more then having a movie in the background. For example just died at irons reading this as my super antifire wore off. =o

Bad idea all around without work to be honest. Lots seem over powered and why do both the range and magic weapons have higher melee reqs then the related skills? No support.

I really like this idea. Could go a long way in mixing skilling up. :)

As if hunter actually managed to lose some 99s. Says wonders for how someone could even bot that high. Atleast they're cought eventually. I guess.

I currently own the vet cape and classic cape. Unlike some, I may even shell out the cash on my rarly used nub account to get a vet cape for him as well because I think it'd be neat. Its only $7 after all, Less then some McDonald meals for a months worth of entertainment. If you play two hours every second day that comes down to only $0.23 an hour. I mean come on, I'm sure the majority of you even play more then that but can you name anything with better value? My only gripe is with the classic cape. I wish they made it so you had to actively play in classic to use it and not just log in. I heard they said they're were too few players to make that possible.
