March 13, 200719 yr Lately my friends and I have been debating about "willy wonka and the chocolate factory" and "Charlie and the chocolate factory" Willy wonka and the chocolate factory is the 1971 movie Charlie and the chocolate factory is the 2005 version i guess lol I personally like willy wonka & the chocolate factory more the other one was just creepy and gave me weird nightmares after watching it.. Also all the oompa loompas were the same guy which i thought was really lame Which do you think is better? RSN: drgnslyer15 15 skills 90+ - 10 skills 99 - 200m+ total exp
March 13, 200719 yr They're both based on the same book. They're both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Unless I made a mistake.
March 13, 200719 yr Author but in my opinion one movie better than the other... have you seen either of? they are different RSN: drgnslyer15 15 skills 90+ - 10 skills 99 - 200m+ total exp
March 13, 200719 yr The newest one has all the glamor effects that you was suppose to see in part 1, but the new charaters were not as the old ones, so it ruined it. Therefor, the orginial gets my vote. Besides, when did willy ever have personal depression problems? LOL ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me
March 13, 200719 yr I prefer the second; darker - as it should be. ... y should it be darker, its about a chocolate factory i think the first probly, the second is just crazily weird thanks to mitsubishi64 who made this sig
March 13, 200719 yr The first one was my interpretation of the story. But the second one looks better and is a little more interesting.
March 13, 200719 yr i perfer older movies. the recents are just another replica to me no matter how much it changed.
March 13, 200719 yr Willy wonka and the chocolate factory is a bit more trippy and surreal and the acting by the children is much better. The storyline in Charlie is better but overall id pick Willy. March 13, 200719 yr Don't really know, I enjoyed both, but Charlie is fresher in my memory. But both aren't exacty masterpieces. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
March 13, 200719 yr I think Roald Dahl would far prefer the Tim Burton version, his books and television stuff were very dark Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.
March 13, 200719 yr Author the 2nd one like i said was creepy... its not bad but a lot of the people i know only like it cause of Johnny Depp. RSN: drgnslyer15 15 skills 90+ - 10 skills 99 - 200m+ total exp
March 13, 200719 yr Gene Wilder in the tunnel scene makes my decision, if I had to choose I would pick the first one. I enjoyed them both though.
March 13, 200719 yr 1971 for me. A tough one, but when you consider the Umpa Lumpa song, you'll find the answer. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
March 14, 200719 yr First one, mostly because I really didn't like the grandpa in the second, and the umpla lumpa song was so much better in the first
March 14, 200719 yr they were both different, but I liked both of them. they each have their own charm each in a different way. the first one gets my vote though, its more classical.
March 14, 200719 yr To be honest, I didn't enjoy either of them very much. I was really young when I first seen the original, but simply didn't enjoy it... not sure why. I think maybe I found it just a bit too fanciful. The new version was the usual CGI crap I've come to expect from any modern retelling of an old story :(
March 15, 200719 yr The newer version sucked. BIG TIME. The original one was much better. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting
March 15, 200719 yr As a matter of question - how many people have actually READ THE BOOK AND SEEN BOTH MOVIES? The first movie pissed on the book - the second actually does it justice.
March 16, 200719 yr As a matter of question - how many people have actually READ THE BOOK AND SEEN BOTH MOVIES? The first movie pissed on the book - the second actually does it justice. I did, but I didn't see the first movie. Nothing can truely substitute a good book \ .
March 16, 200719 yr The second film stays fairly faithful to the book, more so than the first anyway. Roald Dahl like poking fun at adults and creating a situation where a child can get one up on an adult. Willy Wonka, as played by Gene Wilder, was too much of an adult. Johnny Depp gives him a childish manner, which is more in-keeping with the character Roald Dahl had originally created. The Poison Fairy
March 16, 200719 yr as a film, first was best, as a testemant to the book, second was best. for the story, the book was best Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.
March 16, 200719 yr Haven't read the book, loved the first movie, hated the second (actually haven't finished even watching the second). Johnny Depp was awful. "Metal isn't about violence or faggy whiny lyrics. It isn't even about who plays the heaviest and fastest. It is about invoking a sense of wonder and magnitude that no other genre can depict."
