Militaris Posted March 31, 2007 Share Posted March 31, 2007 For the first few days I would probably explore my local area, trying to work out what was going on and trying to find other human life. After I get over the shock, I would probably spend a couple of weeks driving around the local farms and opening all of the gates. There would be millions of domesticated animals going to die of starvation but there is simply not much that I can do to save them. After I get bored of releasing animals I would try and find suitable accommodation. Preferably one with their own source of electricity in the form of Wind or Solar. For the first few years fuel for driving would not be a issue so I would probably travel widely gathering stuff and exploring all the time trying to find other survivors. I would get thoughts of trying to clone myself, or to grow a human from frozen reproductive genes but without a human wound it would be very difficult. Not to mention the ageing supply and uncertain supply of electricity. Although I might be determined the chance of success would be very low. Another problem I would face would be the increase 'wild' animals around. There would be packs of dogs which would grow ever more savage and wolf like. That would mean it would get increasingly more dangerous for me to be out walking by myself. I would try and stay in the safety of secure buildings and I would hopefully be able to get enough fuel to be able to drive around which would offer good protection. It would be interesting to experience mother nature slowly change and conquer the man made world. I do not know how long I would be able to last but hopefully I would be able to keep myself going by challenging myself to find other humans or find a way to create more human life. Technically they could live forever as long as they had good air, food, and water. Yet, what if everyone on the planet died but you? No nukes caused the people to die, no disease, they just all died for no reason at all. Now your the very last person to ever exist and when you die, the human race will be offically extinct. So the question is, what would you do with your life? You could imagine at first, you would probably try your daily routine.. loggin on runescape to find only NPC's as friends.. every world says "0" and is deserted. Your Online Messenger would be empty. Outside there is no sound of human conversation. No one to look at. School's would also be barren, along with towns, cities, and nations. What would you do with your life? Would you read a million books to obtain knowledge? But what for? Once your gone, there is no legacy. How about attempting to become physical fit? Not a bad idea.. but quite worthless since your going to die anyway. What about becomming spiritual? Sounds great, but in the end you still die. Here's my point. Everyone is looking for their purpose around them.. always trying to better themselfs, achieve goals in life, move up to the next step in the world. Yet stop and look. You would not do this if no one else existed. So the truth is.. We do not live for ourselfs.. we live for each other. ~Defender~ since i am all aalone i would grab the first plane i'd see and go to the nearest clone centre and just try and clone myself the rest of my life then until i repopulated earth i would go die :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Knowing all my hopes of having a successful life would probably drive me off the edge though. He has been alone for all those years with NO family - NO one to help him -NO one to care for him. But in the past few years, my mother has gone to help him out. However I would probably die within couple of weeks because the disease of all the human corpses would probably kill me... Probably after going into shock for a few days and consuming all the food in the house, I would pack up my valuables and make for somewhere warmer (by car...Unlike some people, I don't know how to fly a jet bymyself, I can hardly handle a car. However, I could drive as fast as I wanted because there'd [one might assume] no one driving around [unless the monkeys tooks control of the cars in which case I'm doomed]). Anyways, I'd make for somewhere warm, pillaging what I needed on the way. I'd probably jack an 18 wheeler, so I could stock up on bottled water and non-spoilable foods (as well as anything else I might need). I could just take whatever gas I needed. Now, I'd either settle down at a farm somewhere warmer (warmer because, this way it wouldn't die in winter and I'd have a more stable food supply). I guess I'd probably have to give up meat, unless I came across a cow farm and just let them go at each other and eat as I please...LOL. Either that or I would drive around the States, finding all the unspoilable foods and eating them. One would assume even though all the people died, the water and electricity and internet would go on, atleast for a time, as there's lots of computers controlling them. So I'd probably still play some video games as an escape. And like someone said, my goal with however much time I'd have is a gigantic monument to the human race with a lengthy explanation of our achievements and demise (as well I'd go around the world [or maybe just the Americas depending on how good I was at driving a boat (that would be SO fun. I would be just like, start it up, crash it into the shores of Europe cuz there's no way I'd be able to get it safely to a dock, and then who cares? Get what I need from all over Europe, Asia and Africa (this would take months or years, and I might skip Africa because of the danger/lack of important things/unspoilable food and water. So all this compiling of things would probably take many years, then I'd jack a ship with all enuf supplies and crash that back into California. Take what I've gotten and go back to my monument (probably a massive carved stone covered in words, and I'd have a warehouse full of the worlds important historical things). I would probably just work on this for the rest of my life; seeking out what knowledge I'd need for my quest/monument from all the books, travelling back and forth from the different continents cuz I couldn't take everything in one load. I'd probably die doing this eventually, a ship wreck or something and get trapped in the middle of the ocean with no one to come help me. But If I didn't, I'd make that huge monument and take any necessary precautions to attempt to protect it from the elements, so that whatever species took over/aliens invaded us, they would hopefully be more intelligent than us and attempt to learn English. I probably could last a year, but for 70 years (if i last that long without docters etc) that's too much. I'd pretty much do everything I ever wanted enjoy life and everything in it. Like has been said, it depends if all our technology still works, with no one left to maintain it... Another question - are there bodies everywhere? When the people just died, did they vanish, or did their bodies get left behind? If the bodies are still there, I could take tissue from one of them if I acted fast enough - test tube babies or clones or something. Failing that, I'd get away from the dead bodies as fast as possible (I mean think of it, the streets would be full of them... :-X ) and go live alone in nature as long as I could...just enjoying life as much as is possible, while watching Mother Nature slowly reclaim what is her own.
