Who is Jesus?

Recommended Posts

Jesus is a illegal Mexican immigrant day labourer who waits on street corners for someone to pull up and offer him work. When offered work, Jesus excitedly exclaims "Viva La Americana!" and hops into the vehicle. When on the site of said job, he whistles "La Cuca Ratcha" while he earns every penny of his $10/day pay-check breaking his back carrying baskets of strawberry's/lettuce/oranges/shingles/concrete mix/etc etc etc.

This...This is the Jesus I know.

He might have existed, I kind of doubt it - at least not in the way it is biblically described. If he did exist I'm sure he went through all they said he did, minus the supernatural stuff. I just think even back in history if there were records of a Jesus that we don't know that it was this Jesus, or whether or not he did do any of those magic tricks, just because a lot of people had the same name.

Jesus was a real person, with a real human father and mother. He didn't have any supernatural powers, he was just like a normal human.

EDIT: He is also my uncle.

As for Jesus of Nazareth....meh, I don't know. I find it extremely difficult to believe all that's written in the Bible.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

the only Son of God,

eternally begotten of the Father,

God from God, light from light,

true God from true God,

For us and for our salvation

he came down from heaven,

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,

You freaking rock...

I think that The Jesus was a man who saw the flaws in Judaism and tried to create a better religion by claiming that he was the Son of God and hiring a few friends to fool the crowds by performing "miracles" (South Park episode 504). I'm not saying anything bad about him, "even though we don't believe that he was the Son of God, he still was a really nice guy" (South park episode 804). Over the years, various stories about Jesus were slowly altered until they said that he raised people from the dead, was resurrected, he healed a leper, etc.

Aged 13. I'm not sure if Jesus was the son of god, because how can you have a son if you don't have an, erm, sexual organ? Or a physical body at all. Jesus was, in my opinion, a human being who, if anything, may have been "enlightened" like, say, Buddha - that is, he was blessed with knowledge from God, or simply meditated long enough to figure out some very good thoughts indeed. If there was anything supernatural involved with Jesus, it would most likely have been only that. It is impossible for a non-physical being to have a son. An avatar, possibly...

My teacher is a devout Catholic, and I go to a Catholic High School. He makes us pray for the first 5-10 minutes of class, then gets mad at us for "being too slow" on our labs  .

And Sere, a couple teaches my class. They take turns each quarter  .

You are contradicting your self. Jesus was "supernatural" or above nature. As such he was not confinde by the laws of nature. God created nature, don't you think he can work around it. In addition to his "supernatural-nature" christ was not partialy the God and Partialy Man, nor was he Man with the spirt of God within him, nor was he a man in whom the will of God intervined. He was FULLY God and FULLY man.

The consept of the trinity is often missunderstood as a polytheism, but this is not so. IN MY MIND, I don't know if this is fact as the bible isn't very spicific on this subject and leaves much to interpritation, the trinity is the 3 PARTS of God. Just as you and I have 3 parts, The body, the will and the spirit. The body is christ, or the son. The Will is the God head, or the father, and the spirit is the holy ghoast.

Once an opinion is formed the truth is irelivant.

Jesus was a carpenter in the Roman province of Judea (or was it Syria or something?). He then started what is technically a cult which eventually became the world's largest religion. Wether or not he is the Mesiah is subject to tons of debate, but I highly doubt he was.
