Beyond 99...

So I am finally about to turn 99 ranged. I am just 400k exp from that elusive first achievement cape. I have noticed that quite a few of my old friends on my friends list don't play anymore...and they were pretty maxed out in their skills....what happens after 99? I can imagine it's pretty fun to wander around doing your cape emote for awhile, but that might get a little dull after a bit. What aspect of the game becomes the most interesting after reaching super high skill levels? Anyone out there who has maxed out a skill might want to add to this thread by describing what keeps them playing once their skill achievements have been met...

is it pking?

organizing events?

new quests?

getting new equipment?

increasing cash ?

what do the runescape elite do all day?

99 ranged

90 hp

86 crafting

85 mage

...Eating players for breakfast since 2002.

As simple as that. The 99 skill you have achieved will most likely help you on your road for another 99 skill (cash).

99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpoints

Remember, it's just a game

Feel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat.

At the rate I'm going I am going to get 99 firemaking in at the most 1 month. After that I'm going to train other skills. I'll first get 70 ranged (66 at the mo) then 70 agility (68 at the mo) and then 70 mage (67 at the mo).

Once you get a skill to 99, just get another skill to 99 because there is a good variety of skills to max. Once most people max all 99's they quit, it would be insanely boring why do you think there are so few with all 99's that still play?

Yep, get more 99ers is the answer.

I also got my 99ers in my own way, not always the most efficient...

Thief went to 99 because I wanted seeds and gems, I still need more seeds and gems, so the safes and masterfarmers still get visited by me from time to time.

Fletch went to 99 because I wanted cash and mage exp, I still fletch, but I only make arrows (to be used for slayer).

Cook went to 99 because it was easy to do...I avoid cooking whenever I can.

Fish went to 99 just because it was there, I sold lots of fish, and I have 30k of monkfish for whenever I would need it.

Mage went to 99 because it is a status symbol, till 94 through high alching stuff from crafting and fletching, after that I maged for slayer which is still good fun.

Range went to 80 because I like killing monsters with no food. It then went to 18 mill exp (well over 99) because I like slayer.

Woodcut went to 99 because of fletch, firemaking and construction.

I still woodcut for construction and arrow shafts (you have to love the seeds from the nests).

Firemaking went to 99 because it was an easy skill to get to the max.

I think that getting 99 in everything at the current rate is at least 2 years away if there are no new skills that come out.

Maybe I will find things to do in mini games and quests, or maybe I get infected like some others by ranking and try to be the best possible in 1 single skill.

I like to think I am 1 of the most creative rangers in the game as I do almost all my slayer with range. I even do abby demons and metal dragons with range. (no food, no prayer)

2100+ total 3rd best skiller ever at 99 combat (maybe the best, highest total below 100 cb)

99 Cook 99 Fletch 99 Woodcut 99 Firemaking 99 Range 99 Mage 99 Thief 99 Fish 99 Agility 99 Mining 99 Runecrafting 99 Hp 99 Slayer 99 Smith 99 Hunt 99 Construction 99 Craft 99 Farming
