Tears of Guthix research

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what happens if you do tears of guthix and have your lowest skills at EXACTLY the same amount of xp.

I know skills can be 0.5 xp away from each other without players being able to see it but im talking about 2 skills having exactly the same xp for certain and them both being the lowest skill, what affect does tears of guthix have? Does it give xp to both skills? Does it make you choose one? Does it pick one randomly?

why do you want to know any way? people just think too much -.-

If no one ever asked why, we would still be basic cavemen.

Why.

hmm...you really think wondering which skill gets xp if both have same xp in tears of guthix mini game will change the way humanity live? lmao i doubt that

Lol, **** (shadowbot's real name is not for you to know... hehehe), you actually started a topic on this...

I'll post my results when I do it with like 5 level 1 skills on my pure.

  • Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.
  • Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.

And the .5 exp is why the exp cap is 200mil exp. If you have 200,000,000mil exp, it actally counts as 200,000,000.0 exp, which is almost the max number you can have in java. (They cant increase the exp cap to 300,000,000mil exp, because someone could get 270,517,564.5 exp, which is above the max decimal string (or whatever it's called))

Jagex just got told :D Couldnt they just start over the xp once you hit 99 or something? Probably not Im guessing

Skills on the top of the list are picked to get experience in. Thus strenght over herblore. And herblore over farming.

Wow, why wouldnt they just eliminate fractions of xp and only deal in whole numbers, wouldnt that make the max they could do 2 bill xp? Or is it just built into java itself that theres always a .0 on the end of every integer? In that case i see how it could be unavoidable.

it would make the max exp close to 2 bil but jagex wont remove the decimal.

In fact what would happen if you achieve more than 2,705,175,645 total exp!?!?

We'll have to wait for a few years before such a player is out though :-w

err do you know where you are talking about?

you cant get a game running on 33-bits... its always twice the preverious starting at 2...

the numbers are the amount of 2 multiplied... and its always -1 because its just like that...

2 + 2 = 4, 2*2*2

4 + 4 = 8, 2*2*2*2*2*2*2

8 + 8 = 16, 2*2*2*.. etc... 15 times...

16 + 16 = 32 2*2*2*2*2*2*2 ... etc 31 times... (game running on this now) 2.147.483.647 max.

32 + 32 = 64, 2*2*2*2*2* ...etc 63 times... 2.305.843.009.213.693.952 max. amount items when playing on 64-bits

i dont realy think it would be needed to upgrade runescape to 64-bits... just because it would take 12.810.238.940.076.078 sharks to get that many exp... :|

Your max decimal string theory makes no sense. With your logic it would be possible for someone to get 999,999,999.5 exp. If someone could get, say, 123,456,789.5 exp they would have the exact same amount of digits as someone with 270,517,564.5 exp.

Well first, that's not the question here. Second, that can't be right... Tears give 60xp ea.

and your lvl was 6?

Yes but I think it gives alot more exp than genies, you'll notice that when you start getting your lowest skill up. At 53 slayer with something or so exp I raised it about 10K exp with 130 tears. All quests complete ftw \' .

Probably picks one randomly, I doubt it gives exp to both skills. I wonder if its possible to get .5 exp away from a level...

Yes it is possible to get .5 exp away from a level.

In that case, it'll go to the lower one. But what happens if they are tied...think about it :-k

I am pretty sure its what ever 1 has the lowest index (ie oldest = 0 second oldest = 1, etc.)
