May 3, 200719 yr hold on hes just a normal guy with "prince" before his name in no way is he more important than anyone on these forums or the world if he wants to go to war let him go
May 3, 200719 yr If you join the army, no matter who you are, you should expect to do the same duties and be treated in excatcly the same way as any other soldier. Why should somebody like Prince Harry be treated with extra care when regular soldiers have to do the dangerous jobs? Try telling that to the soldiers who are put at unbelievably high risk on patrol with him. Nobody is going to know which unit he is in anyway, that sort of information wont be disclosed. The concept of targetting Harry is ridiculous and unfeasable. Plus that's not the point - if somebody is allowed to join any branch of the military they must assume they will do the same duties everyone else does. If there was no intention of allowing him to fight then he shouldn't be allowed to enlist in the first place. You can't have it both ways, either you join & take the risks like everybody else or you aren't allowed to join. Edit - Merc I think it was Prince Andrew who went to the Falklands. I have to disagree with you on this one. The insurgents in Iraq shouldn't be underestimated. Also the concept of targetting harry is the same as any other soldier, there are roadside bombs which go off daily in iraq, and Prince Harry has an equal chance of being hit by one of them than any other of our boys and gals in iraq. If the insurgents do find out which unit he is in, :ohnoes: well, all im saying is i wouldn't like to be in that unit. We should never have went to war in the first place :x *Also the royal that we can't remember was a harrier pilot in the falkland war. It isn't in the castle, It isn't in the mist, It's a calling of the waters, As they break to show, The new Black Death, With reactors aglow, Do you think your security, Can keep you in purity, You will not shake us off above or belowScottish frictionScottish fiction
May 3, 200719 yr How is it that the idiot Bush-bashers seem to be able to bring up their hatred for Bush in almost any topic remotely hinting at politics even if it has nothing to do with Bush? Also the concept of targetting harry is the same as any other soldier, there are roadside bombs which go off daily in iraq, and Prince Harry has an equal chance of being hit by one of them than any other of our boys and gals in iraq. Troops are being attacked in Iraq because people know that there is a unit nearby, lets face it you can spot a tank or an armoured personnel vehicle from a mile away. However, being able to target a specific unit is a different thing altogether; you would need to know where the unit is(which changes practically every day given the situation in Iraq), what vehicle the target(Harry) is in & then you would need some heavy duty ordinance to get at him. Plus, considering that there has been only 1 reported incident of a soldier being hurt by a roadside bomb while inside a Challenger 2 tank (a freak occurance in my opinion), I reckon he'll be quite safe. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
May 4, 200719 yr How is it that the idiot Bush-bashers seem to be able to bring up their hatred for Bush in almost any topic remotely hinting at politics even if it has nothing to do with Bush? Because we're talking about Iraq, and Bush went to war with Iraq...its pretty obvious if you really think about it.
May 4, 200719 yr Daily Mirror":13a6abgl]SOLDIERS are heading for Iraq wearing T-shirts saying "I'm Harry" in a show of defiance at rebels intent on harming the prince. The move, which echoes a legendary scene of solidarity in movie Spartacus, comes days before the royal is deployed to the frontline. Militants have pledged to kill Prince Harry but fellow troops are putting on a humorous display of camaraderie about the threat. Their khaki tops feature a telescopic sight target on the chest and "I'm Harry" scrawled in bloodred dye. A senior military source said: "Soldiers are well known for having operational tour T-shirts and also for pulling together to support each other. Prince Harry is highly respected by his comrades as a young officer and for what he is doing in the Armed Forces. "I wouldn't be surprised if all his troops haven't bought them to demonstrate their support for him as their leader and also to help donate some money to the Army Benevolent Fund." The ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã19.95 shirt is being sold on eBay and advertised under a rallying call of "I'm Spartacus, I'm Harry, We're all Harry now. Confuse the enemy, wear the T-shirt". It is meant to copy a scene in the classic 1960 film Spartacus when Kirk Douglas's character is protected from Romans hunting him down after a battle. Captured slaves are urged to hand over Spartacus for crucifixion - but instead they all stand up and claim to be him. The eBay seller believes if British soldiers in Iraq are wearing the T-shirts it will confuse the terrorists and they will not know who to assassinate. He says a percentage of all purchases will go to the British Army Benevolent Fund - although he does not say how much. Last night it was believed some of the soldiers being deployed to Iraq with Harry in the coming weeks have bought the shirts. Prince Harry - or Cornet Wales, as he is known in his Blues and Royals regiment - will head to Iraq with his 11-strong unit. Yesterday the Mirror revealed top brass will send SAS troops with the prince to help keep insurgents away. His role has been changed to keep him out of danger. Last night Clarence House declined to comment on the shirts.
^^ yes I know thats a woman in the pic. May 4, 200719 yr I say let Harry do what he wants to do. Just because he's a prince doesn't mean he can't fight for his country like any other man or woman. Good on him. They are obviously going to target his [wagon] on purpose but if that's what he wants to do, I'm not going to lose any sleep if he dies. I'm horrible :) Does it really matter if other people die when harry dies? You sign up to the army as a number and you die as a number. Anyone going to war has a death wish, I'm a cow I know but I'd rather be blown up with a prince than on the front line buried face down in my own faeces. Wah wah wah other troops are in more danger, you sign up to give your life anyway so what the heck is your point?????? lol The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.
May 4, 200719 yr Very bad idea in my opinion. He will definitly be the terrorists main target and what if he gets kidnapped? Then they could have anything forced through. I got nothing against Harry at all. Just that he is royal makes it a bad idea to send him to war. 99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpointsRemember, it's just a gameFeel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat.

If he gets kidnapped the terrorist can get all their demands through because the British government can risk getting a royal person killed when they could prevent it. 99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpointsRemember, it's just a gameFeel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat.
May 4, 200719 yr If he gets kidnapped I say let him die :P Or at least cut off his ears, they are kind of big hehe... I'll stop now. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

May 4, 200719 yr Not a big fan of harry I doupt they will endure any real combat action, just some gorilla fighting...Like 'Jarhead' Yeh I know the film is about USA troops but it'll be same for UK ones i gather. p.s. Bubsa nice sig see you in Athens? A friend to all is a friend to none.
May 4, 200719 yr The King always used to go to war. Now shouldn't be any different. Ehh...It's a bit different. They could kidnap him and easily ask for crazy randsoms, which would of course, be paid. Be it monitary or release of prisoners or whatever. And the likelyhood of him actually being released is like, zero. They'd probably just kill him. Also, it's not just about him. Him being there puts his whole unit in danger...More so than they would be at any other time. They'd be prime target #1. I understand that you thought I was thinking of Prince William and felt the need to point out the mistake you thought I had made. I appreciate your attempt to correct me, that was quite thoughtful of you :D Just because Bob thinks something is humerous does not mean Julie is going to find it humerous. I think from that example, you just may understand the concept of perception. Clearly I am not an idiot; I'm an academic psych student so if you're going to continue with your feeble attempts to make generalisations, please do so accurately  Thank you The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

And in future just admit that you got the wrong prince and stop trying to justify getting it wrong, nobody's buying it. Anyway if Harry wants to go to war than I think they should let him go, though its probably not the wisest decision on his part to be made. Its too risky especially if a hostage situation or even death could eventuate from it.
May 5, 200719 yr Advice: Never say you're intelligent and use the evidence "I'm a psych student". Everyone and their mom is a psych student, and it gets you absolutely nowhere in life unless you get your PhD. THEN and only then do you have a chance at getting it to do anything for you. I personally know several pysch students who have graduated and they all work as waitresses. Yikes. But I'm not going to make fun of Goddess. I remember her from years ago. Hello.
