If he were to die, the hierachy would go into chaos - So one could say he is the 'Future-King', meaning by putting him into Iraq, you are infact risking his life and future as the Kings.

He's hardly a future King being 3rd in succession. Its unlikely he will ever be king as it will more likely pass to the child of Prince William when he succeeds his father Prince Charles.

That's the point of the story. The high ups wanted him behind a desk but he wanted to get involved in the war. Now he is going to do a job like all the rest. Fighting in Iraq.
