A very old computer that decided to kapput one day. It had lots of important stuffs on it but alot of it was later recovered.

It was stuck in an endless cycle of restarting before that:

Blank screen, DOS screen, XP loading screen, BSoD, repeat.

i didn't directly lose money but the money for my schools formal that was organized by students went mysteriously missing a week before the formal so we all had to pay extra and we all know the person who was in charge of the money took it but we never found it and it was never proven

my nintendo DS when my house suffered a robbery. it was worth it cause we have security now. :P

I had a $600 pair of skates taken, whilst I was in the midst of drinking some water.

Stupid Guidos who hang out at skateparks. :(

Nothing more than a couple dollars from a dodgy vending machine.

Iv'e not really lost anything - I'm a Yorkshireman so i keep an eye on my money.

But I do think that i lost ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã20 (40USD since our currency is so much stronger :P ) a couple of months ago on a night out. It might of gone on drink but im pretty sure i lost it :(.

I had a mate that had her bag nicked at this proper heavy metal place that a few of us went to and she had ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã70 and her phone in it aswell as some other stuff.

I lost a mobile once. I say once, I kinda threw it int the River Mersey in a rage, but it was the phone's fault for acting up.

Materially, I've never really lost anything big.

:x I feel for you.. losing a USB. What a pointless theft. Where are you studying by the way?

Me too! I'm doing a Bachelor of Science undergraduate, first year. \'

:boohoo: My cell, my library card, money totalling around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã100

A friend to all is a friend to none.

A few years ago a guy palmed a nice amount of a big chip stack in the center of the card table at a casino in a big hand, apparently trying to transfer them to me (I won). I only noticed after I cashed in hours later, the guy took a bit over $500 bucks.

Also lost a wallet with pretty much nothing in it except a Visa Electron (needs pin to withdraw large amounts and only works up to $50 with purchases) and a few coins.. The thief must've been angry since I actually keep my money in my front pocket on my shirt usually :P

I lost 100$ I had lying around on my desk. I suspect that our former cleaning lady took it, but I don't know. I've also lost two bikes like 200-300$ worth.

My father has lost some more valuable things though. Recently a 1500$ GPS and a 4500$ LSD projector.

Unfortunate event to the max:

My jacket (was around 100 euro) got stolen when I was clubbing.

In that jacket I left my keys, which I normally never do for obvious reasons, but I though I had them in my pocket, which I obviously didn't.

(It was the night of DST, so the clock was going 1 hour ahead)

So we were going home at around 4AM, which was now 5AM. I couldn't get on my bike, since I didn't have the keys - and later when I went to a bike-repair-shop-thingy to ask how much it would cost, they said they wouldn't open it because I didn't have the ownership-papers or whatever (I got the bike from my neighbours when they moved). So now, I also had a bike standing somewhere, locked, which is mine but I can't ride it.

Also I couldn't enter my house since it was 5AM, so I had to sleep at a friends place but he lives like one billion hours away, and I didn't have a bike. So that took two billion hours to get there.

So I lost a 100 euro jacket, a bike, my keys and 40.000 euro on emotional value. :)

A large bag of pokemon cards, lucky they were all doubles and i had my good ones in a folder, but still

Also one of those bloody vending machines. Me and my friend tried to buy some juice and it swallowed our cash. We started to shake it a bit and loads of bottles of juice fell out a loose panel at the bottom  Even better, the owner came out and refunded our money so we made off with about 5 bottles each and all of our money back...those were the days ::'

$1.50 by the stupid vending machine this morning!!! lol. I found a cheaper place to buy a coke and forked out an additional $1.30 so getting a coke cost me $2.80. <.<

A little less than you guys, but it happened this morning so :P .

$1.50 for a coke?? Where I live most machines used to sell them for $0.80, and now they are up to $1.00.

you know there is a place called outside, better graphics 100% pvp and no fee to play :-w

I don't think I've lost any serious materialistic items. I may have lost loose change here or there. I lost my brother to a car accident in December of 2001. That sucked though I wasn't exactly old enough to realize exactly what had happened so I never went through a big shock and grieve phase.
