Lateralus
You know what's worse? People who make far out stereotypes because of some grief they got from some random. Really, I don't like the people who do it anymore than you do, but going as far out as you did...well, basically, grow up - or you'll quickly become just like them. Word. Echofish
I don't dislike em THAT much. Once you get to really know them you'll figure that they're not as bad as people make them out to be. And they don't really wear burberry caps, but the jewellry does come from Argos Some kid asked me to buy an earring from Argos :XD: Ultra Unholy,Hearted Machine... Geordiequeen
No offence but not all "Chavs" are the same and there is no way that you can say what "Chavs will do. Personally I am friends with quite a few "Chavs" who like you say smoke, drink and wear tracksuits ect but then they get great marks in school and are great at sport and are quite nice people to have a chat to. Each "Chav" is different and there is no way possible that you could ever say that a "Chav" is this, this and this. I am sorry and I mean no offence by this but only Shallow minded people Sterotype because they think that because of the way a person's dresses or their habits make them something that they are not. angryjoe
Most of the time when chavs start on me, it isn't that hard to talk them round. If you just stand there and laugh, and don't act like a puff (not saying you do) then they will usually be ok with you. I've been beaten up a couple of times by chavs but the majority of the time they will stop acting big if you let them know that you're not scared of them. I'm not exactly friends with anyone like that but they will give me a nod or something when they see me instead if starting.
GrimHams
If they just walk up to you and start insulting you when you've done nothing then fair enough. Some people are just violent and insult people, they've all got together and decided to wear the same clothes = the spawn of chavs, im older than 14 so chavs dont really exist at my age so im not that bothered. Harrington
Sub-human scum, intent on hurting people and general law breaking... and getting away with it. alex_lee8
Wow, when i saw harrington posted on my thread i thought "oh man, someone actually pretty famous and high level is going to flame me". But thanks for that post! I saw you in Lumbridge cellar once, we had a bit of a chat, don't think you'll remember though. That post with the wiggas and the chav, well yes that was stereotype chav. And i think that chav is an attitude, not what you wear. Its the vandalism and all that jazz. Its just that a lot of the people that do this wear the tracksuits, which means anyone else who wears the same gets labelled as a vandaliser (that a word?). So the nice ones, they may look chavved up mayte, but they aren't built for it inside. Hehe knuckle duster, good idea. I think we all gotta learn some respect, then i wouldn't have started this post in the first place. I admit to that, i don't respect them. But i guess if i earnt it with them, they'd respect me and i'd learn to respect them respectively. lol. Ha, argos jewellery. :-$
Lateralus
I think it's just another case of the most popular 'group' of youths being victimised. Yes, I'm sure plenty of people have had trouble from them. Would it be any different if there was, say, emos everywhere? I'm sure the emos would give the chavs as hard a time if the numbers were swapped. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
Somnambulism
Do you get emos riding around on illegal mini-bikes? Or mugging people? It isn't because they're the largest group, it's more to do with their socio-economic background. They have uneducated parents who don't enforce decent values and standards of behaviour. This, like any statement regarding stereotypes, is ridiculously blanket. Any thread like this is always just a case of someone having a bad experience (or experiences, most likely with the same group of people) and making a stupid judgement based on a stereotype. To say you hate any one group of people is just stupid, because it limits the number of decent people you could potentially meet. La lune ne garde aucune rancune. Mercifull
Its nothing to do with that you are a "skater dude". You'd get the same grief if you were wearing a business suit and a briefcase. "clean shirt" they'd call you. But that's good isn't it? The little kids that try to act all "gansta" i usually shout back at them and on more than one occasion i have got out of my car after getting heckled, they don't like confrontation and they expect you to just run away and take it. The older ones and ones in big groups, its best to just leave them alone. I got smacked in the face by a chav a few months ago and if you search the boards you'll see the reason. People like that are pathetic scum and I would rather my taxes go towards nuclear bombs than in benefits because they can't be arsed to get jobs (and then [bleep] and moan about how foreigners are "invading" the country and "stealing jobs"). Bottom feeding cockroaches. However I don't like generalising, my friends sister is a young mum living in a council house. She is most definitely NOT a chav. Led-Zeppelin
I had a run in with a few [bleep]s down at the beach over a week ago. I was down at the beach with the missus, it was only 7.20 at night (but pitch black, it's winter). And I go back to my car, disarm the alarm *bup beep*, and one dude goes; "Bup beep, what the [bleep] was that you [bleep]en [bleep], [bleep] [bleep] you" (you get the jist of it). My reply "It's just my car alarm bro" Apparently "It's just my car alarm bro" means "[bleep] you, [bleep] your mum [bleep]". Cause that set them off to no end "What the [bleep] did you JUST SAY TO ME!" With alot more colourful language. As I was with the missus I didn't want to start [cabbage], cause if I did get smashed, didn't know what they'd do with her (there were five of them, and they all had bottles as they were drinking (on a MONDAY!?)). So I got into my car, and one of the [bleep]s came up to my car and booted the door in. I was like "Ohhh hell no he didn't!!", reached over to my back seat to get my baseball bat, the missus pleaded with me to not do it, so I didn't. Reversed at full speed, chucked it into 1st, smoking my tires aiming right at the guy, made him jump outta the way, drove right at their car, stopped within about 30cm of their car. Drove off, rang the cops. If the cops don't do anything, I have done some of my own PI work, and have found out where they live, their address and phone number. So please, if you have suggestions of awesome things to do to their car, please let me know. And these dudes were like 25!
Mercifull
Urgh the kids on their scooters... that's a HUGE problem where I like atm and the police have finally started cracking down. There's been a lot of confiscations recently but the rogue couple that you see acting crazy everyday are still around. One of them only a few weeks ago (and i've mentioned this before) undertook me just before a junction while i was indicating left. If i hadn't checked my mirror i could have killed him. The police here have asked people to log the license plate and time of the incidents and if they are deemed to be illegal then the police have the power to destroy the scooters. I have got a couple of plate numbers down now for them doing crazy stunts like wheelies into oncoming traffic, undertaking, driving on pavements etc but I want to make sure I have at least two incidents per rider before handing it to police to ensure prosecution. And at the expense of a possible flame by Dan, they are ALL chavs. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape.
