Antrune_II
You know what's worse? People who make far out stereotypes because of some grief they got from some random. Really, I don't like the people who do it anymore than you do, but going as far out as you did...well, basically, grow up - or you'll quickly become just like them. Do you know whats even worse? Self righteous lefties telling other people who they cant like. Naff off. To be honest Antrune, you are a bit of a toff really aren't you?

Sumpta
Hmpf. That it is absolutely no fun and shocking to encounter these "chavs" and have them abuse you, yes, I can fully understand. But to hate them as a group? That's some serious intolerance and prejudice, which will only deepen the gaps in our society. Why is it that nobody questions the reasons why they act like this? For the last two years, I've been active in social work. Guys like these "chavs" and "ganstas" are the kids I work with everyday and I absolutely love them. At first, I was a little scared, but as I got to know them, I got to understand them as well. It is true that the "real" chavs/gangstas/whatevers come from difficult backgrounds. Not accepted by society, they have built their own culture and image to assert themselves. Their aggressive behaviour is part of that over-assertiveness. On the other hand you have a group of kids who think it's just cool to act like them too, even though they got all the chances in life. Meh, don't know why I bother to post this really. Sheesh, this depresses me.

mikephoto
OK first of all im hoping everyone knows what a chav is. If you don't then here is a quick definition: C.H.A.V = council house associated vermin. They fail at school, think they are "gangstas", all smoke and drink and do other things your not allowed to at 15. They all wear tracksuits, usually lacoste. You all know who i mean? Yes those ones at the bus stop shouting pointless abuse at you right now. Anyway, i got chased home by 5 of them yesterday. Man i hate them! They are low life scum, and they think they are "hard" because there is 5 of them and one of you, and you don't have a knife and they do. Because I'm a "stupid skater mayte" they don't like me. Im a surfer anyway. Whenever you see them just ignore them they are useless. Thanks i feel better for that. lacoste lol as if they cannot afford that and anyway lacoste is normally run about with football hooligans not your chav kids your on about
Guest baronmaster
Chavs are so ugly and basic. They look like the direct descendants of neanderthals. Me *walks down the street* Chav walks past, I mind my own business Chav "You say summit bout my mum?!" Anyone who thinks anything said here is stereotyping is silly cause every single chav ever is an idiot. I suggest a mass castration to prevent furture generations. IGoddessI
I really don't like to label people or groups of people but I can tell you sometimes I don't like their behaviour on particular days. Ragen
Young chavs don't bother me at all. All they do is shout abuse, which can be ignored and if you want you can scare them off with a confrontation. The older ones I avoid though. I know most of the ones who hang round my village and are reasonably friendly with them. In other villages though, I have been harassed a few times. When they are in a gang, it's really best to just ignore it. On their own, they wont bother you at all or if they do a confrontation will scare them away. A friend of mine had to move house after getting in the bad books of some chavs. Everynight they'd hang around his house, shouting abuse, throwing bricks and even putting a petrol bomb through his window. When they went on holiday, the place was broken into and everything was stolen and graffitied. Death threats were left on the walls. As far as I'm aware, the police never actually pressed charges on any of them. I think the root of the problem (other than poor parenting) is that young chavs learn pretty quickly that they wont get into trouble unless they get caught. Kiriyama
Lol, my mate had this Chav come up to him the day, dude was like 10 or something so he really had to square up (emphasis(sp?) on up) to him. He was just acting solid around his mate, you don't square up to a dude who has got a few pounds on you and is older. Needless to say we ripped him once my mate told me. Piscis_Rex
^ yeah, it's always funny always funny when the little year 7 chavs (or scallys, as they used to be called by everyone where I live, but now only by me and the year 11s) try to push past you, and normally end up on the floor themselves. 99.99999998465% of the world's population is not me, if you are the 0.00000001535% that is me, put this in you signature -"being famous is like being a woman, if you have to tell people you are, you aren't"
IGoddessI
Everyone̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s done their fair share of stupid things in the past, they're what make us who we are today so don't regret them, embrace them. I've lost count how many times I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve seen people do 'stupid' stuff and I've thought to myself..."Man...That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s stupid, why did I do that when I was your age". Sometimes you grow to learn, sometimes you don't. People can change. Through the ages of 13-17 I changed from a 'home girl' to a 'goth' to a 'raver'. You can stick labels on people but most of the time they're just phases. Sometimes they stick, sometimes they make you better people, sometimes they don't. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. IGoddessI
You shouldn't be going "Hi, I'm Mel, I'm a Chav". That's not who you are, that's sticking a label on yourself. I've done my fair share of name calling, scribbling on public property, camping on private property, detentions, wearing offensive t-shirts, using foul language, spitting on the ground when it was the 'in' thing as disgusting as I think it is now and starting fights. You have to learn what life is about some how. Mistakes only make you who you are today. So far so good. I admit now I walk past and roll my eyes but I have to remember, if I can change, anyone else can. I remember how 'cool' I thought it was doing all that stuff compared to now. All you can do is look back and laugh. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Nom
Never even knew what a chav was until reading this, we don't call anyone that around here. But judging from what examples have been described here, they sound like the type of people that you laugh at inside because they think they're cool and bad***. Just feel good that you're not conceited like them :P

The Dark Lord
I f**king hate chavs! lol I wouldn't know because we only have thugs here. (American) They usually don't bother me though, but some just get on my nerves. Yeah playing school football with a few popular ones kind of gets me on their "good" side and they never bother me. One of them is a "friend" of mine and he's one of the strongest kids in the school so yeah. God forbid you hit one of them because all of the nearest thugs will start jumping you. Stupid cowards. =\ I don't know what's scarier: the thug guys or the thug girls. One of the thug girls beat the living [cabbage] out of one of the stronger thug guys from football. :ohnoes: Oh and one of the thug/ghetto girls asked me out once. I just started walking sloooowwwlllyyy away. lol SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
