I LOVE THE NEW CROSSBOWS. I made up a few, opal bolts (e), pearl bolts (e) and emerald bolts (e). Using the emerald bolts at 67 ranged, I hit 17's, and fairly frequently I was poisoning the dragon. Imo, better than an MSB.

 

 

 

The green stuff underneath the dragon was the enchanted emerald bolts special, it poisons your opponent for a 5 poison damage.

I remember when 18 was the max hit for Rangers, period . . .

 

 

 

Every form of combat has become much stronger (Remember when Iban Blast was > all magic),

 

but as long as they all become stronger in equal amounts I guess it stays balanced.

 

 

 

Melee is still the powerhouse attack style, with Dharoks able to one-hit kill all but the strongest

 

of players. Rangers have the advantage of speed. A good ranger can hit low 20's with extreme

 

rapidity (even if MSB special misses half the time, a lucky special can be obscenely powerful).

 

And the Mage's most powerful attack can keep you frozen for an entire third of a minute,

 

while the mage takes you out at his leisure from 10 cells away. We've come a long way bronze daggers

 

and oak bows ...

was the hunters x-bow updated? it used to only be second to Karil's right? :shock:

 

yes.i forgot about that beast.go out and get a load of kebbit bolts and buy a hunter crossbow and test it out.technically it should bethe powerfullest crossbow :-k

Hunter's x-bow is obsolete, as you can get the same power 20 lvls earlier, and the bolts are hard to come by.

 

 

 

Karil's x-bow is Obsolete, as bolts are easier to obtain than bolt racks, and is only good if your a frequent frequent barrower....

did you know that there's a NPC in port phantasyms(sp?) that sells bolt racks? he has a 2000 regular stock. :XD:

I remember getting an update. You can be totally sure that I fill up vials and convert logs into planks when I pk :roll:

 

 

 

 

 

theirs something strange how you say that, and leave out the other spells that were reasonable, especially the book swap of lunars... its not 100% solo pk effective, but its not 100% useless, in a group a single lunar mage might just turn a BIG war into a disaster for the oppossing team.

It doesnt have a spec BUT most of the bolts can be enchanted with special effects, giving a wide range of different special attacks (and you can carry many types a time in a special bag

One huge thing that i'm noticeing with the cross bows is that you can't fire them when running. I went to Castle wars yesterday and wheni clicked on a person that was running i would follow them but the cross bow would not fire. I know the crystal bow fires while your running...

 

 

 

Anyway the cross bows are alot stronger and i tink i'm going to like them.

i tested addy/ruby enchanted bolts as soon as i got up yesterday on w18 at the 120 pking spot in edge. so i went out as a range/mage hybrid but on modern mage. so of course i get attacked by an 120 in ahrims with half of his veracs consealed so when i mage pray he can stomp me. but he didnt know i had the bolts. tb-snare for you, dds for you too, oh barrage on me but whyyyy mr. pk0r.... runexb0w to the resue. i killed him so fast im not sure he knew what happend because honestly im not even sure.... =P~ ranger 4 like....life?

think you're all forgetting something which could well be cool, rune c bow plus bronze arrows=new way to power train....not only are the bolts easy to buy from shops, they're cheap, plus you could hit waaay more than you can with bronze arrows and msb, probably be hitting 14's at my level, 76 range, could be good
