Trust and Social Status

As I was looking through I S K 1 L I's blog today I scrolled down to see that he was wearing numerous people's rares. I thought to myself "wow must be pretty popular and trustworthy to have people let him wear 140+ million gold objects". I wondered why I couldn't be like that. What do I do to obtain a social standing like that and gain those people's trust? I want to know what you guys think about how I could gain a social status like that because I really think that would be cool to have people calling on you to go dking and know that they are in good hands when they trust me to help them out and share the drops with them.

:XD: good question, i remember when my friend let me use his santa, i scared the living daylights out of him, right when he lent it to me i started dancing, and evil bob came and took me away. he was sooo scared beacsue i thought it would be fun to turn off my private chat and see what happens. lol not cool, he was pretty scared so i appologized and thanked him :XD: again good question, just have people that u actually know in real life, so if they dont' give it back you can kick their Butt's lol ::'

trust happens when the friendship is worth more than the pixel value and time value of the item i only have a few friends i would trust with a phat if i put a year into something i wouldnt want to see it go away.

That's my opinion about RS trust. You have to be a fool IMO to lend anything to anyone in RS, including real life friendships. Then again, opinions differ.

Well I joined tif about 4 months ago and it started off with me knowing no one and hyting left and right!

Now that I have my own blog, a few wealthy friends it has helped me out alot. Some friends even give me free 1k chaos when I ask how many I would need from 40-45 (Shadowking72 :))

All in all it comes down to friendship and you should be trustful after all it's only pixels.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

after all it's only pixels.

This is one thing I hate. You may say "it's only pixels" but when you lose a phat while merchanting, you also probably lose the time needed to get the money for merchanting it - which can be a lot. Also, I could say that I could lend all my IRL money to a stranger and then he'd ran off - but who cares, it's only a few pieces of paper and metal.

I also absolutely hate people who say they are "just pixels", and Fairness just gave a great answer. It's not just the pixels, it's the possibly hundreds of hours of rcing you devote to get that santa, or perhaps those hundreds of hours barrowing trying to get that guthan's spear.

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

Dont trust anyone, it might work out at first, but youll get screwed over in the end.

precisely. Human beings are people not to be trusted, they aill always stab you in the back, I don't care who they are.

I don't approve of the search for popularity in RuneScape or real life. It shouldn't matter to have the masses look up to you. Trust is something gained when fellow players have seen you over a period of time being honest, hardworking, and kind to others. You still shouldn't try to act more kind or humble just to gain that though. Just be yourself. Trying to reform your way of socializing or looking for self-help advice is silly in my opinion. Also, as others have mentioned, being in that position can also be dangerous. Many people on Rs or real life may intentionally or unintentionally use you (maybe even deceive you).

All you have to do is:

  • Act like a [developmentally delayed].

    Don't type correctly.

    Suck-up to people.

    Don't participate in actual conversations.

And you'll become trustworty just like Skili!

Dude, it comes naturally. Some people, I just chatted casually in edge. then I added them to talk to them more, we talked more and more, and soon,I'm wearing their p hat.

But, you'll probably get flamed for having a topic about this.

Why would you even go to such far lengths for "trust". Honestly I see no fail proof method in this. Heck, I don't even know how so many people know me. Anywho, if you need some help with trust, all you can do is be kind hearted to others. No that does not mean handing out free st00f to everyone you see, it means helping out with the intention for their benefit, not for yours. I do say, if I kept everything for myself and not looked to others for help and vice-versa, I would not be here anymore.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

If you can't lend items to real life friends because you don't trust them enough then you don't have true freinds.

Don't forget, there is no legal way to punish people who jack off with your phat. You can't report them to the police etc. There are people like that, you know.

+1

Although, there is one, and only one person in Runescape that i trust.

P2P offers more and better ways of making money than f2p. That's one of the cons you just have to play with if you don't feel like having 1 bigmac meal less per month.
