My grandmother died last year after a few years of Alzheimer's. It was awful to see this once strong, willful, difficult and admirable woman crumble into an empty shell. In the end, she didn't recognise anybody anymore.

It was hard to lose her, when she died, but we were also relieved for her. And relieved for ourselves, because we could go back to honouring and remembering her as she was before she got the disease.

I wish you a lot of strength.

today (29th of june)it happened:

my sister and i were just arrived at school when my other sister came to us

and told us to join to the principal, my sister and i thaught it wasn't something important so we were laughing when we arrived. But when i saw my dad over there, i knew it was wrong: he told us to sit down and listen to what he said

he told us that she was dead

we immediatly went to the hospital( it's a 2 hours road)

and then we saw her lying in her bed for the last time (i can't go to the funeral because i'm at a camp   ). it is hard to realise thatshe will never be able to talk to me again.

like i said before you guys really supported me to come trough these hard times.

i know there will always be someone who I can talk to

greetings

Jeroen

p.s. thanks to all that posted

Im sorry to hear that your grandmother has died.

RIP

My grandma's got Alzheimer's too. She's getting bad, almost to the point where she's forgetting to take baths and go to the bathroom. Its sad. :(

Very sad things happening. My condelences. Nothing worse than that, I'm terribly sorry for you. But don't let it overwhelm your life. As someone said, you can soldier through it.

[EDIT]

By the way, try and spend as much time as possible with your grandpa. He's going through the exact same thing... Together, you guys can help each other out. And, also, I have a lot of respect for you, for letting that out to everybody =D> . I couldn't write that yesterday, it was too late <.<

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Matt: You want the funny shit that happens here and there, you think it comes out of your [bleep]ing [wagon] pushes garbage can down, don't you? You think it's funny? It comes out of here! running towards Camera guy

Camera guy: runs away still laughing

Matt: You think the funny comes out of your mother[bleep]ing creativity? Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!

Ah man. I'm sorry to here that. I hope you and you're family are doing ok. I've been through the same thing before and I know how bad it is. I hope things get better.

it is hard to realise that she will never be able to talk to me again.

Then don't decide to realise that! Your grandma will always be able to talk to you, just in a different way.

Fire in the belly my friend, when you feel it, she's there

xx

I feel for ya mate. I'm sorry to here that. :(

Sorry to hear that mate. :(

Unfortunately it's all part of life. Cherish the good times you and your grandma had and remember them.

Don't be afraid to find solace in your family and feel. I'm no psychologist (perhaps godess can help out here or possibly correct me) but it's always healthy to recognise what you feel before dealing with it in what ever way makes you cope best.

I wish you all the best.

I forgot, if you'd like to cry over my shoulder, instead of your dad's or your mom's, I'll be there for you. I doubt you'd do tha though. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm sure they (except abyssalwhip) would be glad to.

My condolecens. :( Just cry alot, think of the good times you have had with her.

My grandfather has been burried yesterday. When I stood there, watching it, I cried and I cried. After that, I just stopped and I felt relieved. There was just no need to cry anymore.

Right I'm a sick bastard for asking a question... Hope ya get banned.
Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Try to get a pet to cope with any emotional pain you feel right now. It helps.

The worst kind of a death, is a prolonged death like that.

My great uncle died of cancer, and it was disturbing and shocking and terrible seeing him slowly die.....

Sorry about your Grandmother..... :(

that happened to my friend's grandfather, and he always just lay on his couch, we had to be really quiet at his house. When he died, for about a month or two afterward, my friend would yell at every plane that flew over us yelling about germans and WWII (wtf?). i guess his grandfather was a vet, perhaps?

And sorry to hear about your grandmother, at least she (probably) led a full life and knew the joy of being a grandparent (though she probably forgot because of her disease)

What's with all these topics everywhere?

what's wrong with my topic?

i just want some support cause i am really down because my grandmother has got alzheimer.

edit: thanks for the support

It's ok jeroen, abyssal acts like this all the time. Some people forget there are real people behind each poster. I'm really sorry for the loss. My grandma died two years ago suddenly and it was really hard to go through. My advice is when you remember her (which you'll do a lot I imagine), remember your best memories rather than thinking about her death. For awhile whenever I thought about my grandma I felt pretty sad, but that's not the right emotion to feel about someone you love so much. I know right now it's terrible to deal with but do try to remember the positive things.

My birthday was June 29

My condolences to you and your family/friends/relatives.... im sorry to hear that... :( just remember the good times
