July 2, 200719 yr I've -always- had the same problem of loosing colour out of my jeans. I tend to wear the darker blue ones. and every time my Mum washes them they loose the colour or shape. so when I buy a new pair, I'll try my best to keep them clean and not wash them for as long as possible  Seeing as I pay ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50-60 for each pair, I'm not willing to ruin them. Does anyone else face the same problem? or is it just something my mum does wrong. and, before you say 'do it yourself you lazy poo' I do sometimes do the washing, but the outcome is the same. Is there anyway to prevent colour loss? My dA account..retired, as of the 1st January 2008.
July 2, 200719 yr Isn't the whole point of jeans is that they lose colour and get ripped up pretty easily? That's why only pay ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã12 at most for mine... then again I'm tiny so it would probably be about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã15 if I was taller. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
July 2, 200719 yr Im not entirely sure but I think the enzymes in the washing powder digest the cellulose in the jeans I doubt you can do anything about it...Im not sure if there is like an enzyme free washing powder
July 2, 200719 yr Do you use the correct temperature whilst washing them? A friend to all is a friend to none.
July 2, 200719 yr I prefer the faded ripped homeless look myself. :o I don't use jeans for dressing up nice, more casual, so doesn't bother me if they become faded. I have a few good pairs of pants for going into town, which only ever get worn every fortnight, so they last the distance.
July 2, 200719 yr Can't believe no one has said yet: Wash them inside out. Im guessing that might work>
July 2, 200719 yr Wash them inside out Wash them at a cooler temperature Wash them using a colour retaining detergent. July 2, 200719 yr Why are you spending ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50-̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã60 on jeans anyway, never mind jeans which fade and crap up? But yeah, inside out. Eureka moment! This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
July 2, 200719 yr Bubsa said it, there is no point in buying ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50 jeans if you know the colours gonna fade. danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât

July 2, 200718 yr Jeans can last weeks without washing if you ask me, so they don't fade too rapidy. But, that said, there's nothing I like better than a nice faded pair of 501's. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
July 2, 200718 yr Yeah that song that goes "ive had the same jeans on, for four days now." that's like the bare minimum time i wear mine for lol. Hand washing is also an option. I'm the same way, I can wear the same pair of jeans for a few weeks without bother washing them. Honestly unless I'm running around in the dirt they aren't going to get dirty.

My [wagon] sweats a lot, so they smell funny after four days. Yeah I don't sweat much at all (most of my time is spent in an office/home/indoors) so its not a big deal. Even when I was outside for most of the time this past week on vacation I didn't really sweat much.
July 2, 200718 yr Lucky foo's. I have anaemia so I sweat anywhere and everywhere. Never get tired of the smell of fresh laundry though : This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
