Lastly, Wiimote is a bad controller to play with. If you get used to it, Gamecube controllers, especially the wavebird(forgot the name, I think thats it... I don't have one -.- ) owns.

That could be my biggest problem. I would use the GC controller, but the way my Wii is positioned there's no room for me to plug them in. I'll have to figure something out...

I have the same problem.Don't listen to kent. I figured out a way to make the wiimote and nunchuck just as good as the GC controller. You just have to figure out the right configuration... :ugeek:

Though I have three Gamecube controllers, I stick with the Wiimote/Nunchuk as well. I'm planning on reconfiguring the controls soon so grabbing is easier, which seems to be the only major difference. (Or...Not?)

I use that combo for a few reasons...My friend only has two Gamecube controllers, so when we go to his house, I'm usually stuck with Wiimote/Nunchuk. So I might as well practice for then. Also, it's wireless (Except for the wire connecting them). I can play far away. Also, I'm not sure if my Gamecube controller wire can stretch all the way to the chair I usually sit on to play.

However, the Wiimote by itself does suck. Oh well. I don't think many people use it.

Thats strange, the last 3 people who posted here use the Wiimote. However, the button controls, ect, are in worse position then GC. It is completely opinion however.

I don't know about all that, I like having my finger always resting on the B button, and A, and Z. The only real problem is grabbing. You may have noticed I only did it once in all those games.

To be honest, it's just a matter of adapting. I'm sure you're very used to the Gamecube controller. At first, the Wiimote/Nunchuk was pretty hard to use, though I eventually realized I was better with Pit using that rather than a Gamecube controller. After that, I just kept using it and now I'm used to it, I might actually be better with them than a Gamecube controller.

For someone who's never played SSBM before, the Wiimote/Nunchuk is just as good as a GC controller, minus grabbing.

The only other problem I've thought of is taunting. It's a bit harder to the the side taunt, and in Wifi, it can be harder to send messages. It doesn't really affect gameplay though.

Like I said, opinion and experience has alot to do with it... however, the button placements are much better on the gamecube. As in, the buttons you need are there for fast access and the controllers are much more confortable (yes, those are facts).

you never played SSBM...? :shame:

...And the fact that there are two shield buttons helps, I guess...

Whatever, to each his own.

And no, I've played SSBM, I have it, I just didn't really get that used to the GC controller. Either that or I somehow adapted really easily.

I was forced into the Wiimote-nunchuck, because the first night I got it, I couldn't find my GC controllers. I figured it out just like controls for any other game, so it was no problem.

Not true. I am good with the GC controller and the Wiimote/nunchuck on Brawl. I much prefer the Wiimote/nunchuck. It is very comfortable in your hands. Like I said before you just have to make the right configurations. I'll let you in on a little secret configuration I use, but you have to have kinda big hands. Assign the 1 and 2 buttons to grab. Then you can just grab by pushing the bottom of your hand or more the very bottom of your thumb on the 1 and 2 buttons. It works rather nicely. Not as good as the Z button though. If only their was one more button. :wall:

The configuration of the Gamecube controller is better because it has literally all the buttons right at your fingertips. The only reason you believe it's confortable is because your so used to it.

The GC is comfortable its just that with the Wiimote/nunchuck it doesn't feel like your moving your hands so much. That is if you have a button to jump. It really is just a matter of opinion.

Except my way is better lol. :)

Who actually uses tap jump...?

And yes, I actually have a HUGE hand. And feet.

You have to have fast fingers to compete with someone using the GC controller, when your using the Wii controller.

I can also see Nintendo releasing a controller just for SSBB because of the huge debates of this, why? It gives them a chance to make some more millions, they don't want people saying that an old controller is better than a new one, and they don't want people using an old one over a new one.

But I'd use the Wii Remote over the GC Controller any day.

I for one use only the Gamecube controller. I havn't even tried to other controllers. I am fine with my wireless gamecube controller, though I may want to try the Classic controller sometime (the one for the virtual console)

Well I'm going round a friend's house early tommorow and we're gonna prep for brawl by playing mellee for the day, then get up early the next day and head into town to get his pre-ordered copy as soon as the shop opens.

I know what I'm doing all weekend.

if we had a match then its more than likely.

I've never taken SSB seriously. Its very fun and I'm really hyped for brawl but I've never bothered to learn how to do the really pro stuff.
