I don't know if i'm really old school, but i was like 8 when i started playing, and all i remember is the sleeping bags, when i had full black, i thought i was rich, where short swords and long swords had diff reqs. like black short was 5, and long with 10 or something. And when i collected a knife and spade atop varrok general store for cash, and when it was swarmed by people, it took forever to sell something...all i can think of now.

"Runescape 2" first came out, decided to go and look at the new blue dragon in the heroes guild, died and lost the santa hat i was wearing because i couldn't find the protect items prayer :wall:

When Bluerose13x charged 1000 coal for an adam square shield, and you had to store it on "coal mules" because you couldn't store it all in the bank. Then, you spent an hour trading it to her.

Also, you remember when runescape was a community, when people had freedom of speech and when it was run for a love of the game rather than to make money.

I've brought this up before too, and this is the moment to me that really defines the retroness of RSC for me. Around 02 red zamorak robes cost like 200k. Back then this was a lot to me, and I heard Invrigar the Necromancer outside of Ardougne dropped them. He was tough to kill though, because he summoned zombies, and there were usually a few of us there trying to kill him in hopes of getting the robes. Someone died and dropped a red party hat there once, I don't even remember if I got it or not, but if I did, I did something stupid with it. I think I did get the robes though, and I was pretty happy.

 

 

 

Whenever I walk by old Invrigar's hut (I haven't been that way in a long time though, don't know what that areas become) I get those vague flashbacks.

I saw santa hats being sold for 50k and wandered who in their right mind would spend 50k on a useless hat!

What makes you realise that you are actually considered "old-school" in RuneScape? I've only played for a 23 months, on and off but i was around in the xp battle between Zezima and Lilyuffie88 and the release of Receipe for Disaster, when I could have bought a full phat set for around 200mil.

You are not even close to old school. The battle between Zezima and Lilyuffie88 was a long time before you started. Probably that has already been pointed out to you.

I used to lure noobs into the bearded dark wizard at wizard tower... I died there once when I was a noob and a LOT of people fell for it. I wouldn't do something like that nowadays though :shame:
