handman003
Yep, as you can tell by the title, I had a misfortunate accident. What the title doesn't say...Well.. I woke up early and talked on IRC for a few minutes...But I got bored. So I grabbed my PSP and started playing some random game. About ten minutes into the game I think about brushing my teeth, so I stumble into the bathroom and grab my toothbrush and sit my PSP down on my toilet seat. After I had finished brushing my teeth, I had long forgotten about my PSP, so I went back to my room and got back on my computer. Of course, I left IRC open, so I went to read what everyone had said after I left. I looked where I had stopped talking, noticed that I had mentioned my PSP, and went back to get it......It was wet. More than a little wet, too. It had completely submerged in the toilet. I quickly scooped it out (by some mericle, no one had used the bathroom) and commenced to drying off the exterior. Then I removed the game, battery, and memory card, and had them wiped off in no time. It is now making its recovery. Well, my PSP still works, but the orange light on it that signals that it is charging won't go off. The moral of this story? That's for you good folks of tipit to decide. Anywho, I'll be watching this topic for replies, so please discuss. : UPDATE: THE BATTERY WON'T CHARGE!!!!!1 It won't run off the battery either!! :uhh: :uhh: There goes $300   ANOTHER UPDATE: The system part of it (not reading from a disk) works fine with the AC adapter plugged in. Still looking for a solution. MORE UPDATES: I somehow got my UMDs to work (those are the disks for a PSP) with my AC adapter... I have two games, and the sampler disk that came with my PSP. They all seem to work fine, including the one that got submerged. [hide=Click for battery info] This is the battery that came with my PSP Under battery status it shows:Charge left : 87% Hours left : - Power Source : External Battery Status : Charge Complete And a second battery a friend gave me:Charge left : 0% Hours left : - Power Source : External Battery Status : Charge Complete Of course, the charge is NOT complete...[/hide] GOOD NEWS! I got the PSP to run off my original battery! I just had to wiggle it around A LOT to make it work. \ \ now to get it to charge... UPDATE I went to Radio Shack, bought a 30$ screwdriver set, the kind with bits and everything...Got home, unscrewed the first two screws, but the bits were too thick for the other two screw holes... -.- Anyways, guess I'm outta luck... UPDATE Aug 30, 2007 (see this post) OMG OMG OMG OMG IT'S BEEN FOREVER, BUT FINALLY! I feel like a COMPLETE IDIOT. I forgot to think about 3rd party chargers! On August 24th (yeah, I forgot to post about it, I was so excited!), I got on amazon.com and searched for 'psp charger' and found THIS! I ordered it. It cost my mom (lol) $6.90 + $6.09 shipping, for a total of $12.99 (where it would've normally been a whopping $49 + shipping!?!!) It still hasn't come in yet, but that's to be expected... Anywho, I'll leave an update when(if) it finally comes in the mail. Also, I started another thread, about my ipod and xbox 360... UPDATE September 3, 2007 It works! It actually works! I have to plug in my AC adapter to the charger to charge my battery, but I can use my brother's AC cable to play without using the battery! Rebdragon
I did that to my Gameboy when I was 10. Long story short, I put it on the edge of the tank and it fell right in. Totally fried both the Gameboy and messed Pokemon Red version, which I had gotten for Xmas only a week prior. After a few months my Red just stopped being able to save data, so ended up losing all my data in the game. I can still play it and start a new game, but I just have to see how far I can get without saving it, 'cause I lose the data the instant I turn the game off. Yes, that was one of the most traumatic incidents of my childhood, the day I lost my Red version to the evil Toilet  . [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. Lionheart_0
 funny stuff. Reminds me of a thread on the WoW forums. I know its more to do with WoW, but it still has to do with droping electronics in the toilet. A nice read! Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! fakeitormakeit
Lol, why on the tiolet seat? Anyway, this is more about looking before placin your bottom: I was at a fourth of july party and one of my friends was about to throw me into the pool, and I had my sidekick in my pocket so I sat down and I landed on a piece of cake. The frosting was white and I was wearing both a black shirt and black jeans.

I've lost 4 18+ cards, 4 purses full of cash and bank cards, 3 phones, an ipod, house keys, expensive sports shoes and a diamond bracelet all up just by leaving things and forgetting about them, told you I have a sucky memory. I've also lost 2 mobile phones to dropping them in the toilets by accident. =D> :notalk: The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Mercifull
I was texting someone in the bath the other day and then went to put the phone n my picket. Except I wasn't wearing clothes and I was in a bath full of water so it got a little damp ^_^ Oops Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. aquariusman
Once, in bed, I was listening to my MP3 player. It only held about 60 songs, but I was fine with it. Well my bed frame at the time had a built-in shelf at the head of the bead about a half fot off of the matress. Usually if I have a glass of water or the like I put it there for the night. Well, after listening to my MP3 player, I turned it off and put it onto my shelf without looking. I heard the [racist term] of it hitting glass and then the ploink of the water in the glass. All I thought to my self was "Idiot". I took it out, it worked well, but after a few weeks I jsut found that it turned off randomly. THen after a few months of turning off randomly it did not turn on. Tried different batters, hooking it up to the computer, nothing worked. So I go into Futureshop, because I had a warranty on it still (I love extended warranties) and get a new one, which had about twice the memory, along with expandable memory. My Brother just got an iPod so I also trade in his old MP3 player for a 512mb card, which was the size of my new MP3 player. So after breaking my crappy, 256mb MP3 player, I get 4x the memory and an MP3 player I like much more. I still have that MP3 player somewhere, even though I do have a iPod. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.
