mcneilp
Work...I assume many tif users have part time jobs or are working full time so Having just finished back shift at my part time job (its 12.05am here :ohnoes: ) i wondered what your opinions are on work? Do you have a job? Do you enjoy work? What is your dream job? or anything else work related, post away! I work part time in a supermarket (stock replenisher...AKA shelf stacker) on back shift and quite enjoy it, the pay is good and the banter is excellent  The only downer is the difficult customers and those bloody theivin neds that seem to populate my area. But meh, its actually quite scary to think this is what the rest of our lifes are (working, hopefully not in the supermarket  )like...even more so now some very good friends have left school and started working full time  ..... Nadril
I work at an organization (SAME). It pays well ($9 an hour, 40 hour weeks). Mostly I got it because my mom works there, I got in to help out. To be honest though I can't wait until college... work is boring.

Randox
I work as alifegaurd on beaches in Nova Scotia (canada, the big [wagon] country north of the states : ). Really the weather wherer I work sucks alot of the time. It's either windy or foggy, but the commute is amazing. Its a minute by bike from my house. I get a wicked tan, but I have to teach swimming lessons (I wan't to hurt some of the little kids, but thyll never know how I feel). And I stand to make a minimum of over 3,000$ CDN (thats without swimming lesson pay) in 8 weeks at 10$ an hour.
Zonorhc
Where I work, I get $20 an hour to sit around surrounded by cute girls and men who can keep up intelligent conversations. BlackMaggot
I work delivering pizzas for a pizza place here, it's really good money with the tips. Last Night I made $23/h and the least I've made was $17/h. Its a great job because all day I get to drive around listening to music.
llcoolguy972
I work at Timmy Hos and it's not horrible. I make above minimum wage, the people there are fun, but I definitely wouldn't do it if wasn't paid. :P I really don't love or hate it, I just kinda stand it. :P
wakka102
Backyard Burgers :P :P It's fine there, I don't have to work long hours (I like to spend my summer with friends) and the schedule is really flexible, If the schedule has a day I cant work I can usually swap with someone. Also the people that work there are really cool, they aren't all people who don't speak good english (although there are 1 or 2 but most are white teenagers). So yea, I like my job :) Where I work, I get $20 an hour to sit around surrounded by cute girls and men who can keep up intelligent conversations.I'm going to guess that you work at some sort of clothing store like Hollister? Thats just what came to mind because thats all I ever see the employees do there accept for checking out items and folding clothes.
Lionheart_0
:x I work at wendy's, mostly at the cash register (Which has given me the nick name the "Wendy's dude" by many of the kids at my school). Intriguing
I work on average 2 - 3 times a week for my dad at a golf range/putt putt/pro shop. It pays about $8.50 an hour I think, and in the last hour a day (picking up the balls) you can earn from about $10-$13 in that hour. It's a pretty good job for a 15 year old, but I wouldn't exactly want to be doing it the rest of my life. Cool.

Thats just what came to mind because thats all I ever see the employees do there accept for checking out items and folding clothes. Not that this is true about all "Fashionable" clothing stores, but in PacSun for example, they dont usualy dont have the smartest employees. The other day for example. I wated to get a shirt in a medium, so after a few minutes of trying to get that message across to her, she tells me to wait while she checks the back of the store, so I waited. She came back, and said they didn't have any more. So I ask if the display shirt is a medium. She turns around the display box and looks at it, and tells me it's a large. I say "Ok, I guess I'll try on a large." So she takes the shirt out of the display box, leads me to the fitting room, and I see a box full of the same shirt. I ask "What about those shirts? Cant try one of those on?". She replies "Oh, those are all larges too. We dont have mediums." And why did she take the display shirt, instead of one of the other ones? That isn't the only "incident" that day either. I'm just dont feel like typing the rest out. Oh, and yes. She was blonde. Btw... What I would give to make above $15 an hour. IGoddessI
My work makes me  and :D and If your work doesn't make you do the same, find your purpose of being here in this world and go do it. Don't work for the money, work because you love it so much that it's not even work. If you're doing something because you have good benefits, 13 years until you retire or earning a living... WHAT WOULD YOU REALLY LIKE TO BE DOING?? Go get that degree, that diploma, that trade, that qualification and if you're a doctor who hates his job, go be that artist, musician or librarian, it works both ways. The sky is the limit, always remember that. The only person who has ANY says at all, in whom or what you become in life is yourself. Yes it does because I help them live normal and happy lives and overcome their depression. Knowing you can teach one person with depression how to live a happy life and get well, is amazing. Knowing you can teach thousands is priceless. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Althalus
I'm currently working during the summer months only (May - August) and attending school the rest of the time. I work for the BC government doing property taxes. It's a boring desk job but it pays $17.70/hour so I can't complain, really helps with tuition. mad4u689
I'm working at my college library for barely more than minimum wage for the summer. It's kind of giving me hope - I'm buying my own food and paying my own rent, and I'm still making more money than I'm spending, so... that's good... right? :D Now I just need to keep that up for the rest of my life... :P I don't know what I want to do. Sometimes I really want to be a housewife, and really invest time in my family, cook dinner for them every night, be there for my kids, help them with their schoolwork. However, that puts a lot of pressure on my husband for income. So I'll probably wind up being a high school math teacher (I'm a math major in college). I really think the education system needs to be improved, and the first place to start is with good teachers, which I think I would be. :D Everybody hug and spread the love :D
