Well you have all heard the saying, i think its a very good saying to tell you the truth. Now as good as a saying is, it seems that people stilll don't follow it. Now i know what your thinking, "Not another rant about the declining Rs community!" If you were thinking that i advise you to keep reading.

Now as many of you Bandit trainers or any popular moster trainers know, sometimes it can be hard to find a spot that is free. You may have to switch worlds 1 to 900 times. I know i have had to do my fair share of switches before also. The one thing that i come across is the rudeness of the people that think they can just "steal" your spot. Now don't get me wrong on normal monster training spots i always try to share the monster. Sometimes people don't want to do that and try to do everything in their power to make you leave.

You ask them, "can you please switch worlds?" Most of the time they don't answer. If they do they say something like " I have switched worlds like 10 times!" I try to tell them, " Well i had to switch worlds to find a free spot also." They just continue to pretend like they are doing nothing wrong when they know that they are.

One comment that just realy made me mad was when i asked someone why they think its ok to just come and "steal" my spot when they hate it when people to do it to them. Do you know what that persons reply was?

"well people do it to me so why shouldn't i do it?" That comment just made me want to expload! Lucky i didn't because i'm still here. ::'

Anyway that is the real reason i created this topic. Do you treat others the way you want to be treated? Or do you just roam around not careing about peoples feelings?

Just because people are rude to you DOES NOT mean you can just be rude to other people.

thats stupid. real life is 100x more competitive than rs. but you don't see people kicking people off public computers so they can research, or tripping the pizza guy of your competitors, do you? Theres no excuse, anywhere, to not behave like a human being

well irl you can get in trouble for those things, where as in runescape "stealing" someone's spot isn't breaking any rule

Hmm we sould treat Runescape players like human being... okay then I'll do that. I'm off to the Wildy to KILL some players.

tif1mn0.png

If you can't be courteous in game that means you adopt the attitude 'its only a game, theres no RULES saying don't be a rude little [cabbage]' i might adopt this attitude in real life, i mean maybe ill punch your mum in the face because to me life is only a slightly more intricate 'game' than any computer game. Seriously learn to be nice or i'll kill you.

Yes. i treat people with respect. but when it comes to training on monsters i really couldn't careless about if im stealing someones monster i mean for crying out loud its a game its not as if ive just committed murder is it. Quit complaining about something that quite frankly will never change.

doint give them a lecture about why not to steal, like your mum/kindergarten teacher tells you to share beat them at it, if there gonna steal ur spot in fm go ahead of em and fm (my story: if theyre gonna take ur gold rock beat them at it till they tell you to suck your mums [bleep] and then they log off....stupid nub -.- ) if they take your green dragon wait till it comes back up and take it back if they set a cannon at rock crabs beat the rock crab down to 5 hits then leave it(hehe my story also  he logged hahaha) just dont be the kind little boy take what was yours in the first place and be mean in this game

Let your yellow mellow.

Ummm I see you have slower internet and bad connection; you can beat i'm going to steal your monsters. I'm not switching worlds because you say so. How the heck are you? Your not my boss? Away with you! I say!

I'll play devil's advocate and ask you how you can expect them to behave how you want them to but not vice versa. You expect them to not steal your monster while they expect you to swap worlds. You don't do what they want you to, so why should they do what you ask of them?

i'm a jerk to people. I'm jerky to people here, in game, and in real life. it's just in my character to be a jerk. if people don't like it tough for them.

You reap what you sow my child. Too many of you have adopted the attitude that complaining about someone being an [wagon] is weakness, it is not weakness it is abiding by a certain standard of fairness and decency, i've switched worlds 20+ times to get to kill say blue drags in the heroes guild, and then some chump walks up and stands under me, HOW IS THAT NOT RUDE? HOW IS THAT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR? (after of course i have asked politely for them to leave, explained that 1 into 2 doesnt work(efficiency) etc..). I will not appreciate being called a whiner or being told i am weak and should just learn to stomach it, because you are the arseholes who steal MY monsters, and make no mistake if ive spent 30mins getting that monster/rock to myself you ARE stealing from me.

Don't act all noble. What do you define as acceptable behavior? acceptable behavior isn't doing what makes other people feel good, or helping everyone else, in my book, acceptable behavior is whatever keeps ME happy. if you can't deal with someone taking your little dragon then you shouldn't be playing a game with over one million people.

For example, I was killing fire giants the other day, and this little level 40 pure comes in with a cannon, and put it in the center of the room, and all he did was sit there and let his cannon kill the giants.he turned on his protect from melee to reload his cannon when it ran out of balls (hahah) and when i asked him to put it away (i said 'would you pick up your cannon please, i'm trying to train) he called me a dumb noob. so i retaliated, i opened up the door and let that prayer draining spider come in and take out all of his and almost killed him, every time he'd close it i'd just open the door until eventually he cursed at me and teleported. See, i'm happy, I'm the only one there getting the xp that I wen't there to get, so that's all that matters.

I always treat others how I expect them to treat me. If they don't want to follow my path, that's cool - I just hop worlds.

The anonymity factor in this game also contributes alot to the online bullying. It's easy to be cruel and ugly to others when they don't know who you are or where you live. I'm usually nice to everyone I meet unless they prove themselves unworthy of my company, and they end up on the ignore list.

There are so many places to get resources in P2P that if there is a crowded area, I can usually go somewhere else to get what I need. It would be awesome if other people could play like I do, but I don't expect it. All of the diffrent kinds of people out there is what makes RS a good game, to me.

Sometimes you just have to take the good with the bad.

Replace the pure with a lvl 100 who can kill the giants and spiders who doesn't care about his prayer, nor you. Now what?

Jagex didn't make any rules on this because everyone has different opinions on what is acceptable. And even our own opinions can change over time. When I was a lower level, I would go to the Family Crest dungeon and happily kill Hellhounds with other people. As I got higher leveled, this became too slow and I would take over both spawns, even if it meant "stealing" other people's monsters. Now I find that the two spawns are too slow, so I always go to Taverly. How am I supposed to get other people to think the way I do when my own opinions change?

Best thing to do is to remember that this is a multi-player game and that the other person is most likely NOT going to think the way that you do. Consult the Bestiary and find out where the monsters that you want to kill are located. If you want a popular monster to yourself, don't just go to the easiest spot and then complain because it is crowded. Jagex gives you options, take advantage of them.

I found the only solution is to be nice with the very few nice people, and ignore the rude people, unless they won't shut the hell up and refuse to leave you alone, in that case I do my best to make them regret the day they were born.

Where is this universal book defining what is or is not rude?

If you tell someone else to do something, e.g. not stand in your square, then why can't they tell you to log off? You can't accuse them of being ethically wrong, because there is no universal set of ethics. They can make up and follow any ethics they choose to, and you can't force your opinions on them.

There is a Universal set of ethics. Theres 10 of them and they were carried down a mountain thousands of years ago by a man named 'Moses'.

I think some of you got confused. I'm not complaining i'm just putting the topic out there. I do understand that this a multi player game, thats why when a person comes along and the situation allows it i try to share the monster. Take a note of WHEN THE SITUATION ALLOWS IT.
