July 23, 200718 yr that "loved one" will probably break up with you later. Id save the 3000 people. Lol, they wouldn't break with you after you saved his/her life at the cost of other 3000 lives  [Click here to help stop World-Hunger.] ?
July 23, 200718 yr I talked to my girlfriend, we both figured 3000 people are more important to save. It really has
July 23, 200718 yr hundreds of thousands of people die every day.... feel bad for any of them?? loved one definitely. [/bads]You get 750000gp from alching a Bandos Godsword. I know from experience.
July 23, 200718 yr Loved one. They would know that I was doing the right thing. 2104th to 99 Hunting January 10th 2008Proud Fan Of The Offspring Since 1998
July 23, 200718 yr Kill 'em all! Nah, I'd probably save the 3000 people, because you'd most likely break up with the loved one. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
July 23, 200718 yr hundreds of thousands of people die every day.... feel bad for any of them?? loved one definitely. So just because you don't know them, their life is worthless? What is with some of you people... Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
July 23, 200718 yr I'd save the 3000 people. I personally feel that saving your loved one would be pretty egoistic. But I also think that my decision could change if I were to be in that situation
July 23, 200718 yr I'd save a loved one. Actually, if they were just a friend and not a loved one as such I'd save them. For example, if the choice was between 3000 strangers and either Rick, Lionheart or Mel...etc I would choose the friend. I don't think I could let someone I know die. I would feel terribly guilty about letting the 3000 die, but if they're people I've never encountered at all I obviously won't have any emotional attachment to them so it'd be easy enough to let them go. July 25, 200718 yr You can't take someone else's life, even to save another's, that's stealing either way. So I'd ask my beloved which they would chose. If I couldn't get a straight answer, I'd chose the logical path, not emotional path, and sacrifice my beloved. Human lives are currency with other human lives so they are somewhat interchangeable. I feel like a heartless monster when I say this , but that's the path of logic.
July 25, 200718 yr This is a tough question :-k I know this is selfish but I would keep the loved one :(
July 25, 200718 yr I would pick the 3000. However, if I was really in that situation it would be hard. I mean it's easy to just say that I would do the right thing, but actually doing it :uhh: . I know I would regret it later if I picked the one though. "Nobody cheers for Goliath" ~Wilt Chamberlain~
July 25, 200718 yr I would choose to save a loved one, if it was a question i had to answer quickly. If i was given a day or so to think it over, I would be inclined to save 3000 people. I've lost loved ones before, I wouldn't want to inflict that pain on three thousand families, who might do the same if they were in my position. And it is much easier to justify the death of one person to save three thousand, I wouldn't feel guilty forever. Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.
July 25, 200718 yr Christ! I really don't know which one I would choose. I would feel terrible if I made either choice. If I didn't save a loved one, I would be very upset, but if I knew I was responsible for the death of three thousand people, I would be utterly destroyed.
July 25, 200718 yr Would these 3k people know you chose them over your loved one? Because 1 person you loved being lost, means you still gain 2,999 and the one person replaces your loved one. This is only if they know that you chose them. Because then it'd be pointless because then all those people wouldn't love you... Depends really on the person I'd choose to give up. I <3 Gears of War 2. Add me on Xbox Live and mention you are from Tif :D
July 25, 200718 yr This question is always crossing my mind, but with the exception that a whole country or every one on earth for my family. 1 life is 1 life regardless those people have familys that care about them to so if i was put in errrrrrrr... a situation that there was a "bomb" about to kill 3000 people and i would have to give up some one i cared about or myself to save them i have no idea what i would do. :uhh: 563rd to 99 mining on 15/08/0799 Farming
July 25, 200718 yr Easy, the person I love. If they're strangers, then it's not gonna hurt me. Everytime I pick up the paper or read the news, seems like tens of thousands of strangers are being killed each day anyway... my 3,000 wouldn't even make page 6.
July 25, 200718 yr It'd be the easiest way to let things happen how they're supposed to be instead of making yourself a godlike being which has to treat humanlifes.
July 25, 200718 yr Splinter Cell, Double Agent reference... though I thought it was only 2000 people? Well, anyway, there's 3000 people I'll never get to know... July 25, 200718 yr If the situation were merely a choice that I had to make, but was not the cause of any of the factors leading up to it, I would choose a loved one. Choosing the loved one wouldn't be condemning the 3000 to death, it wouldn't be your responsibility, it wouldn't be your fault they died. The only thing you would be responsible for is saving one persons life. truth. Seconded. Say it was a madman who was holding both groups of people hostage and forcing you to make the choice. I'd choose the loved one, but that wouldn't make me responsible for the deaths of the 3000, that would still be the responsibility of the psycho. Nor would the responsibility lie with the loved one who was saved, they shouldn't feel guilty for the deaths of the others, they were merely saved, they had no choice in the matter. What if it was some sort of natural disaster? What if (this is the best I can come up with off the top of my head right now but I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m sure you can think of a better natural situation) the ground was going to open up in two areas- under the 3,000 and under the loved one and you only had time to make one call to tell them to move. I see it as partly of your fault for the 3,000 because you had the ability to save them.
July 25, 200718 yr I think "One death is a tradgedy, a thousand deaths is a statistic", applies pretty well to this thread. I'd save a loved one myself, the deaths of 3 thousand others wont affect my life much, people die all the time. Its totally selfish but in some areas of life I think you have to be. I'd want my loved ones to make the same decision about me. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!
July 25, 200718 yr I'd choose to save the loved one. I'd never feel the same again if I let a loved one die. Best.Songs.In. World.Follower of Guthix. *points to avatar* Aww yeah..
