It's a stereotype...get over it...

---> Pures : Most pures act like they are 10...and for all i know, they probably are 10.

I've encountered many drop traders, mostly pures, so i would have to say that i'm on the bandwagon of the pure stereotype...ers.

If you think any of those (or at least 2+) I hate to say you are racist.

Did you even read the rest of that post? Or did your eyes magically drift right to those little diamonds and start reading?

Did I say that I thought any of those? NO. Those are stereotypes. If you'd like I could go get the official definition out of a Dictionary or something. Examples are great teaching aids.

And I must say, I left one out.

As many have said before me, it's a stereotype. Get over it. Stereotypes have and always will exist. Need examples?

As a matter of fact though, most of those stereotypes apply to very few of that select group of people. Those things are, however, popularized by today's culture and media, among other things.

Same thing goes for pures. Seeing as many pures are quick to jump to insulting and "pwning" you for the slightest thing, that's how they're thought of. Many pures have in fact drop traded from their main or bought gold. Many do overuse the term "noob".

But on the other hand, some pures are trained from level 3 legitimately, from the start. But people don't see that. I know that when I see a character running around with iron armour and a Rune Scimitar, possibly a rare, I automatically think "pure.. pfft." I don't personally like pures because of these stereotype. There are many exceptions, but some people to give those exceptions a chance to show themselves.

Hope that got the point across right..

im stereotypically against pures because of their attitude and their abusive overuse of the term noob.

Exactly what i was gonna say...This is especially at c wars for me as i don't pk and as in c wars, you start attacking some pure, about to kill him when the higher levels start on you, you die, high lvls walk away to kill some more, pure stands and comes out with the old chestnut "z0mg p0wned"...i know not all talk like this but hey, this thread is about stereotyping....

90% of them drop trade and act like spoilt children.

I have to ask where you get your statistics from.

Its people like you guys who make them act like they do. If i had people saying "oh he droptraded" "90% of pures do" "most pures drop trade" "ok "YOU" dont but most do", I would act however the hell i wanted to.

Pures dont hang around in the same areas you do. You spend most of your time in banks, or doing slayer, or training. They spend most of their time pking and training with pures who do pk. In the wild, if you give respect to other people, they might still backstab you.

Pures are gonna be more hostile, but dont think its just pures that act that away. If you spend months in the wild, you will know what your better than. For example, if I with 99 att and str were gonna fight someone with 95 95 95, i would know my only chance to beat him would be to get him low and either get lucky with hits so i hit some 35+ in a row or get him on the dds spec.

So i KNOW i can beat him. But me saying that makes me think im better than everyone else right? A pure knows what he can take and what he cant, and so do I.

I dont really see the point in pure skillers/money make accounts, why should you need another acount to train a skill you can do at least the same well (most times better, because of hard quests and high level creatures) on your regular account.

I can see the point that most of they act like small children, many of they fill their time throwing information to you about their high lvl main and how rich their main is and bla blah blaah (wel u know 8-) )

(although that's my most counted experience with them)

But I don't understand what all of you guys have against drop trading from their "main" if they have the money to afford more then they need why shouldn't they give it to an other (account)?

Lunar is simply stating examples. He didn't say any of those are true, and if he did agree with them, they are just stereotypes, nothing racist about saying Americans are rich white people who just cheat their way through politics by bribing, gerrymandering, lieing their way up the ladder. :-w

People also might tend to hate pures because you can sometimes see a pure arguing in the rants forum about his level 1 defense/prayer/level 3 combat stops them from doing something (such as mining in the dwarven mines, winning versus a tank of some kind, and he wont accept that he should be limited because of his choices.

Well, drop trading isn't allowed, that's really the only reason.

But, on topic, when I meet a pure, I try to act friendly, but most often comes "Omg ****** nub get out of here b4 my main owns u".

But then again, several of my friends have pures, and they're great people :)

Just depends on the person on the other side of the computer screen, I guess.

I can tell you're the type of person who makes sure they're ridiculously politically correct. No one can prove how many pures drop trade but everyone, including you knows that SO MANY of them do drop trade, its worthless you saying "well you can't prove it" because no one can say. Surrely common sense has to win this because pures dont magically get the cash so quickly. I may be a cynical old man but thinking pures dont drop trade is like saying "that tramp probably got given that ipod and stereo".

I personally do not understand the purpose of having a 'pure' and a main p2p character. But hey, it is their money. Aside from that, they (pures) bring on the hatred themselves. So far every encounter I have had with one ended in me putting that person on my ignore list. One memorable encounter occurred by the rock crabs above Relleka. Some guy was flaming me about his pure and then challenged me to fight his 'main'. He logged out of his 'pure' account and logged back in with his 'main'. My question is why were both of his characters up in the same remote spot?

I have no beef with anyone who has a pure...why is it that they appear to have problems with everyone?

If you people with pures want respect, then earn it and stop acting like you own Runescape. A little courtesy really can go a long way.

the reason i don't like pures is because MOST NOT ALL somehow take it to their head that because they aren't on their main, they can act like jerks. i have met 2 pures that aren't complete jerks, and they are my friends' pures. do you know how many pures think transferring items to their main is legal? most that drop trade think that any type of transferring items is legal. but i have met pures who think it is okay to transfer items by either

a. using 2 computers

or b. giving one account to a friend temporrarily.

the second thing infringes on 2 rules. now do not flame me and say not all pures do that. we all know. what we do know is that the majority of pures act like jerks. don't say i'm pulling that out of my [wagon] or to prove it, it's not a stereotype anymore but a generalization. try going on your main and setting up a cannon at rock crabs. do you know how many "z0mg n00b but ur cannon away!!!! noob!!!!1" you will get? i've seen it happen a lot, when i was training my range. it was in the 40s and i really didn't know where else to train so i went there. the pures there are so hostile to anyone who takes their kill or sets up a cannon, yet they would do those thing at the first chance they have. in fact i have witnessed a pure call someone a noob for bringing a cannon, when they died he picked up his 5k cannon balls, then came back with a cannon. they might be the same person as their main, but they don't act the same way, and that's why people don't like them. and how would you like it if someone won a stake against you for, say 10mil, just because they obtained the armor and weapons in a way against the rules, drop trading. that's what a lot of pures do, and why a lot of people don't like them.

figures are made up to make examples. in this case, it was just to make a point, he said that number to exaggerate and to get the point across that many pures are jerks. in a previous thread about defending pures, i used to numbers to make an equation. some of these numbers are facts, some of them i made up to make a point. i'll state the equation here.

there are roughly 10 million accounts made on runescape. about 200000 have been banned, and another 800000 people who have played for more than a month quit. if you count all the accounts who have played for less than a month you'd get about 2 million. so you have 9 million active accounts. there are about 1 million accounts tjhat have been created from the same ip address as another account. count out about 200000 people who have brothers or sisters that play in the same house, you have about 800000 accounts that have been created by people who already have an account. that's a lot of pures. now let's just say that 70% of pures have drop traded. i'd say that's about an accurate number as there are quite a few pures who follow the rules. you now have 560000 pures that have drrop traded, and 240000 that haven't. most of the people on this forum who have pures haven't drop traded, but i have seen a few mistakenly admit that they have. in fact about 70% of people who say they have pures on here have not admitted to drop trading in some way. since tip.it is pretty much the opposite of runescape, tip.it is mature while most runescapeans are jerks, i say that this can now prove that 70% of pures drop trade. 70% is a large amount, so it is obvious that the public will see this large amount rather than the 30% that don't drop trade. now we have the basis for a generalization. generalizations about people are too widely believed and used for the world's sake, and runescape follow this trend. now you have the reason why most 'scapers either dislike or hate pures.

sorry for the double post but both of them were long so it's okay right?
