July 25, 200718 yr I didn't know this either... shame coz I've just started getting into making my own vids. I disagree with Jagex on this one... I really don't see the harm in posting a instruction video of the game. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh when I say this, but Jagex are the nazis of the gaming industry now. No fan sites, no videos etc... not very condusive to fun gaming. :(
July 25, 200718 yr I suppose if you give Jagex credit at the end for creating the game they are less likely to want to remove it. Also, as long as you weren't breaking any rules, abusing a bug ect I really don't see why they removed it, if it was just some harmless video then I don't see the point, but then again, this is Jagex were talking about.
July 25, 200718 yr They usually only take out Scams/glitchs/Morphscape. But they have been taking out MORE and MORE now adays. So maybe they are changing the rules? Or maybe they are stepping it up Saw Mod {cabbage} Banning macro in world 86 yesterday =D> He was hitting them with his ownage rubber chicken. I got 1 too  I heard they banned some GP/Account selling sites on Tif acouple days ago. July 25, 200718 yr I hope Jagex doesn't take out my friend's "Zezima PKing" video. If I turn chat on, I get 'zomkg ur oddment ur in dat video wif zemisa!!1' by like 20 level 50s.
July 25, 200718 yr I remember your vid! You killed a shade? Got attack/strength/defence and pray exp? I can't believe they removed it... another reason why they annoy me so much. Oh P.S. if anyone has a link to Jojo3000's luring vids let me know through Private Chat, and save your time by not sending me malicious links I will spot them I just want to see them again for entertainment purposes and I am not endorsing luring of any kind (which now is even worse if you get lured with the Ditch of Stupidity present).
July 25, 200718 yr You are a forum mod aren't you?You posted on G&A on the RSOF didn't you?about a year ago?Gratz for completing...one of the first goals on the RSOF completed...:D 8-) Instead of super strength pots you would have spinach. :lol:Reply to a thread about Disney Buying Runescape
July 25, 200718 yr OK here are the facts: - From the copyrihgt perspective, short recordings of limited-amount of RS content in specific context (sharing videos with others), qualifies as Fair use under US law and similar provisions in most other countries including the UK. Which means I can use it regardless whether Jagex likes it or not. - From the game-rules perspective, honestly, I don't have to give a damn if the videos break rules or not. Jagex's rules only apply to people playing within their private property, which is RS itself. These rules have absolutely no legal force outside RS. YouTube is not owned by Jagex, and they have no legal right to order YouTube to take down materials they don't like. - Just because Jagex WANTS you to not share your videos, doesn't mean it has any legal right to enforce that want. Once again, Fair Use protects limited amount of shared work. Within RS, it is always the players who are told by Jagex "our decisions are final and if you are not happy with them, too bad". But here, for once, Jagex is the one that can be told "if you don't like the videos on YouTube, too bad. You can't force players to stop making OR sharing them, regardless of how bad you want to". BTW, the same thing goes for the Jagex messages player get in their inbox. Legally, a mail communication between two parties cannot be copyrighted by one of them, nor can they stop the other party from publishing or otherwise using the contents of the message. Jagex's claim that I "can't share messages from Jagex with other people" really doesn't have any legal ground. They can label it "private", "confidential", or whatever the heck they want, but they can't legally stop me from using it any way I want, including sharing. Live free or die. First option is exhausted, so guess what remains?
July 25, 200718 yr sorry but i just have to ask: what happened at that level 122 to level 124 skip thing. it was too small and blurry for me to see [/bads]
July 25, 200718 yr Author Ninjachicken, Here is my video re-uploaded to the website esnips.com with a lot better quality. You can zoom in on this one and see everything thats going on really easily. Youtube killed the quality of the original. .com/2o7f73]http://[Website not allowed due to abuse].com/2o7f73 or the long link is http://www.esnips.com/doc/92db67a0-34fc ... 2_124_kyle
July 25, 200718 yr I'm good, as long as they don't remove tip.it, then ill scream *as he cuts off neck* "you won jagex!!"
July 25, 200718 yr it is about time to move from low quality youtube to high quality filefront... everything is possible untill jagex knows about it True true. I know youtube is the one that everyone knows, but there are actually a ton of higher quality and better uploading sites for films. Currently my favorite is Veoh, theres some great RS vids on there.
July 25, 200718 yr Jagex wanted to remove the vid ' how to auto in rs' and then they just want silly willy and decided to have some fun Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob. People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

Which means I can use it regardless whether Jagex likes it or not. Reasons: I believe its not just copyright, but I am not sure what options Jagex had when they sent rant to youtube. hmm..i am thinking what it could be,perhaps its because names of players that can be seen in videos, and other people who watch video can post textual comment ,and perhaps they can mention some other runescape names Text Coment posters can also post many diffrent stuff, you clearley explained in your post that Jagex doesnt have to do anything with Youtube, where i absolutley agree Anyway, when I ask myself why did Jagex complain - maybe because little kids playing runescape would be really interested in looking up those videos - because youtube is so popular website, and they might be encouraged to post similar texts in runescape forums or somthing like that... I got no clue, but i believe it has to do with things i mentioned...not exactly like that, but must be somthing similar Anyway I also believe that Youtube didnt have to search for reasons that much, since Jagex is strong company, and still...when u look it better...its game they made Conclusion: Artisticly i say it is not correct for all possible reasons But Technically it is correct what Jagex/Youtube did zzZZ [- Glory From Beyond -]ZZzz

Artistically, definitely wrong. However legally, which was the stand they were trying to make by taking it down, incorrect. I uploaded a picture of Runescape's homepage with "There are 0 people playing!" during the power outage in the last month, and the admin took it down because she was afraid Jagex would try to sue her for copyright infringement #-o

July 28, 200718 yr This is the opposite of clan support. Clans usually post their videos on YouTube where most of their members come from.
July 28, 200718 yr files front is better quality anywayz and u can stream it Team Brutality = One more reason not for me to step into wildy with anything valuable. O:)
July 28, 200718 yr maybe jagex thought by the title that you were attempting at some kind of bug that skips a cb lvl, without actually watching the video first? by the way, loved the vid i did the same thing to skip 98 cb \ ~flatduck~
July 28, 200718 yr i wish jagex would ban for this, after you post a video on youtube its always followed by comments containing links claiming to be auto'ing programs but they are really keyloggers.
July 28, 200718 yr Pretty much what I think may be going on here is that youtube are removing the videos and that Jagex are not pressureing them to. As some of you may know/may have been written here before. Google who are the owners of youtube have been taking to court by companies such as the bbc for allowing video uploads of films and bbc news and documentaries etc. Now as google don't want to be sued any more they have been reviewing their videos. A simple theory?
July 29, 200718 yr how do you make a runescape video? :?: ya i was wondering this also, i know u need software for it, but is it something i can download free anywhere?
July 29, 200718 yr how do you make a runescape video? :?: ya i was wondering this also, i know u need software for it, but is it something i can download free anywhere? Google "hypercam 2" or something like that its free but you have to pay to get rid of the logo at the top. P2p: 135 F2p: 124 as of July 29, 09.P2p: 137 F2p: 126 as of September 25, 11.
