I asked jagex customer support about it and they said they dont encourage users to share their videos and will reserve the right to remove any videos they find. (EDIT: Heres my video that got removed http://www.esnips.com/doc/92db67a0-34fc ... mp-122-124) They also said that any runescape videos you have are for personal use. What gives? They dont think us posting videos of runescape is good for getting more people to play? Has anyone else had their rs videos removed from youtube for copyright infringement? First I wrote to Youtube asking for the name of the company that requested the removal of the video. They told me it was "Jagex Ltd." My video DID NOT show me breaking any rules or abusing any bugs or playing on a private server. It had over 330,000 hits and was quite a popular video of skipping combat levels 122-124. So popular in fact that people would come up to me in the game and ask if i was the one the that youtube video. So you can see why this is slightly annoying. Most of them are pointless pking videos, videos of famous people, drop parties, etc. The only sensible reason Jagex is taking down some of the videos is because there are some anti-Runescape ones in there, but those can be created without any in-game graphics, so I don't know what they are trying to do. gordoarcane Posted July 24, 2007 Share Posted July 24, 2007 Also sadly youtube was being exploited by sad sickos on private servers, imitating Mods, offering riches, and getting or attempting to get players to go to their sites, then extracting their usre/pass off them, one vid i saw on there said you could go on a Mod training course, 1 week trial etc, i realised this was a scam, and alerted jagex, it took them a while to get rid of it, then it popped up the next day, seems there will always be someone out there trying to scam accounts and our hard earned items. Perhaps just movies with rulebreaking would be removed...but then FOB has a crapload of cussing in it... :?
