mlb.com showing all of Barry Bond's at-bats live!

Only similarity was the homeruns between the and bonds. no way he was better.

How many steals do you think ruth had?and i am sure he was a great fielder

edit: 0-2 so far this game

He was also at one point a very talented pitcher. That however is beside the point. The point is that although this will be possibly the greatest achievement in baseball of our lifetime, thier will always be an asterisk next to his name. In his interviews he says that he thought he was putting on flaxseed oil, and not a steriod. I mean truthfully how beliveable is that. I personaly dont belive it should be celebrated, but to each his own i guess.

Not only that, but players like Ruth and Hank Aaron had to hit farther distances to get a homerun and with less less advanced equipment/training. Also, Bonds' batting average isn't amazing, all that he is great at is hitting the homerun. Bonds is a good player, but he can't compare with those guys.

what do you mean they had to hit father? Some parks have gotten bigger and a lot of parks like fenway have stayed the same

Look its rob!

I dont like him, he just tied the record :(

tbh innocent until proven guilty. it's terribly cruel how people can not be happy for him, i mean come on! 755 home runs! how does that not deserve some respect? when he breaks it i'll be happy =D> =D>

How about this fact for you. Before any of the "juicing" scandals Barry Bonds NEVER hit a 50+ home run season and when he hit 36( I believe he was 36) He hits 76 homeruns.

There's something to think about.

Also, who knows maybe A-Rod isn't clean either?

EDIT: Regarding the Steroid issue even more and the homerun record. Barry Bonds has had 9,300 at bats and Hank Aaron had 12,200+. It's still pretty impressive IMO because maybe you can minus 3,000 @ bats when he used steroids and counter it with when he was skinny and hitting homeruns "legally". Also steroids might help strength but they dont help coordination and eye contact.

Hitting a 90-100mph or curve balls takes pure skill and steroids can't adjust that it's just natural.

I dont care what anyone says. he is with out a doubt the greatest all around player of all time.

753 home runs, approaching 3000 hits, 500+ sb's(only member of the 500-500 club) 8 gold gloves, a career OBP of something like 450 and dont forget silver slugger.

how can you argue that he isnt at leastttt the greatest all around play to play the game(if not just the greatest period)

Do you know what the word 'steroid' means?

There's UNDEINABLE evidence against him!

See this great article.

Great article for the extreme lack of undeniable evidence or numerous spelling mistakes?

I have no idea about any of this as I live under a rock called Rangitoto Island, so I'm not having a dig, just that article was crap.

Barry Bonds was never proven guilty, and innocent until proven guilty is how it should work.

I mean his feet, head, arms, etc have increased and there is a 99% chance that he does take steroids, but steroids help you hit harder and farther, not more accurate, and you have to hit the ball dead center, or slightly below dead center to hit a home run, so it is still an incredible feat.

Hope Bochy sits him tomorrow so he hits 756 in San Francisco.

That's what I am hoping for, how much greater than to hit it in the park that loves you the most.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

He'll probably sit tomorrow and Babe Ruth was addicted to beer that's why he died, haha and he was also big he couldn't steal bases if his life depended on it.

Can't wait for the day the BALCO testimony is unsealed and they strike the record.

Alex Rodriguez will break it for sure, in the Boston Globe (my newspaper), it said it Rodriguez continues his pace of 44+ home runs for 4 years, he'll have broken the record

Also he only needs to get like 30 to break it in like 10 seasons or something. Unless he gets a career ending injury, I'd bet loads of money he'll break it within 7 years.

if he hits 44 homeruns for 4 years that will only bring him to 676, 100 away from what the record is now. but bonds is obviously gonna hit more homers

Look its rob!

Bonds is on my fantasy team this year so the more homers he hits the better. 8-)

I'm more of a college football fan anyways so aside from fantasy baseball I have little interest in the sport so I'm not really one of these "oh holy sacred home run record" type people.
