So I was hungry and it was late(3am), and I realized that we didn't have anybread in our house.. so I decided to make eggs. I've never been good at making good looking eggs, but they always taste awesome. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem? And how you do make good looking eggs.

here's what my eggs look like

they have ham and cheese in them and salt and pepper on them

Looks like an omelette? theres so many things that you can do with eggs. I like poached eggs myself on toast with a squirt of ketchup lol.

What the hell is it lol, looks like a scrambled omlette, I'm good at making omlettes now, and I've only made 2, he he, all you need is 2-3 eggs, 2 tablespoons of milk, mix it up, add to a large frying pan with a bit of oil, have the heat about medium. Wait until the top starts to go solid swirl it round a bit so some sticks to the side (helps when you fold it) then once its all solid put it under the grill for a while. Perfick.

Eggs are my speciality. :-k I'd love to be a chef when i'm older, cause its fun cooking stuff :D

Scrambled omlette is brilliant. My omlettes are really, really basic. I don't really add much apart from basics.

When I want to make eggs, I usually make them with ham or bacon. The trick to aesthetically pleasing eggs is patience. I usually turn the stove way up, then drop the meat in when the pan is hot. Sear for just a few seconds to make sure it doesn't turn too dry, then drop in the eggs and immediately turn down the heat about halfway down. Then just wait until the eggs solidify. Nothing ruins eggs like moving them too soon. It should take a few minutes for the eggs to solidify enough. Once they're done you can flip them over for a few seconds to sear the other side shut or just remove it from the pan completely.

I'm going to try that, i assume i usually don't wait long enough for them to cook, but i find that a little bit of uncooked white makes them taste a little better.

Looks tasty. =P~

I tend not to worry about how food looks. It's all about the taste.

looks tasty? noone has every said that about my eggs :P

I don't use oil to greese my pan, I use butter, I find eggs taste better if you butter the pan vs using oil

I have no clue what that is, it's a combination of scrambled eggs and an omelet ;\.

If you want to make an omelet just whisk the eggs, pour them in a pan which already contains a small amount of butter, add the cheese and ham, sprinkle with pepper and salt, let it cook a bit and fold it into two.

Should look like this : (allthough it's with other ingredients)

Not only are omelets tasty, you can put about everything in it, peppers, mushrooms, you name it. I've cooked alot of omelets in my life, afterall i'm a decent cook :P.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

Heh I'm a bit of the opposite. I'm a sucker for art... For me the taste isn't complete without proper composition and nice texture/form!

So.. yea... maybe I'll be a chef. :-w

lol no worries, you'll get better! Especially once you move out to college. Unless you take the lazy/expensive route and eat out everyday..

Eggs (yolks) have too much cholesterol.. I try to avoid them.

What..the..hell is a 'scrambled omlette'? Isn't it just scrambled eggs? Lol.

I'm rather pro at making omlettes, the secret is as it cooks, pull the cooked bit back, and let runny egg take it's place, and keep doing it till it's cooked. It's late, and that probably made no sense, but hey.

What you can do is wait till the bottom is cooked well, then just fold it over, and the middle will cook fairly well.

My favourite omlette is 2 - 3 eggs, some milk (I don't measure), some curry powder (curry powder = teh bees knees, good in scrambled egg too) salt n pepper, cheese, bacon and mushrooms. Sometime I'll add dried basil and rosemary just to be flash haha.

Somehow I know exactly what you're talking about, maybe it's because that's how I make them.

I'm not so hot with eggs, they always taste good though.

I'm very snobbish when it comes to food and as they say you not only eat with your mouth but with your eyes as well, I know high quality food and it is a curse to be picky.

Your omelette looks ok, but I prefer my eggs poached or ...I forget what its called but you seat it in the egg stand and you eat with by dipping bread into it.

Edit: Anyway, eggs aren't the hardest dish to... (get ready for this bad pun) dish out.

For an omelette put the pan on medium-high.

Spray the pan with non stick spray or melt a little butter in it.

Put you eggs in and let them cook a little

Ater they start getting firm push the cooked portions into the middle o the pan and tilt the pan so the liquid egg is on the edges, repeat pushing the cooked egg into the middle and tilting the liquid to the edges.

After everything stops looking so watery put your fillings on one half and then flip the other half onto them.

Let tthe cheese melt or the ham warmup and slide it onto a plate, once you feel it is cooked.

Isn't it lovely how having an opinion makes you hated around here?
