August has got to be the best month so far in 2007. I can't think of another where there have been so few rants.

 

 

 

~Clan chat. Although I don't use it much, clans and a lot of people use it.

 

 

 

~Themed worlds. Minigames such as blast furnace and trouble brewing have been basically empty for months, but now there has been a rise in all types of minigames thanks to this update, and even better Jagex didn't just make worlds up, they were mostly worlds that were already used for it (I.E. world 66 and law running).

 

 

 

~New player kits. Bringing out these made more people happy, with the much bigger choice for designs, because with only 6 or so to choose from, everyone was basically the same.

 

 

 

~God wars dungeon. The best update supposidly isn't even out yet! A high level dungeon has got everyone excited.

 

 

 

So can you think of a better month this year? All that's missing is a new skill lol. But at least they didnt bring out another easy quest, which is just a waste of time.

 

 

 

I think these updates have come out in august to attract more players to play and get members, as it is the summer holidays and they are playing on that.

Not just the best August, but I think this is the best summer so far. Mith dragons, dragon full helms, dragon arrows, dark bow, new lunar spells, 2 new prayers....the list goes on..

I feel inclined to agree. This month would be better if we got a really awesome quest too. They just said God Wars Dunegon, nothing about not getting a quest to go along with it. :wink:

jagex keep outdoing themselves but eventually they will have to focus more on the base activitys because then you give nothing for new players who are trying out the game and want to get pulled in.btw i want another quest next month,last one was pretty cool :

Yeah, I have to say, this month has been awesome.

 

 

 

I'm temporarily f2p at the moment, and 3/4 of the updates have been free to play and members!!! \

 

 

 

Also, clan chat has revoloutionised the game, alongside themed worlds and the new look kit. The god wars dungeon looks amazing too, so I hope you enjoy that members! =P

I know, however I believe that balance is needed. Also, I am a firm believer that Jagex needs to revitalize existing content before adding new stuff. What is the point of firemaking again? Or herblore after the mid-80s?

It's too early to tell. Clan chat was a very nice update, but let's see how the dungeon turns out.

We can't say it will be the best for the WHOLE year, but since the last august, I think it's better than the previous 12 months.

Clan chat: good thing, I use it cause I hate clicking peoples names, and for private group conversations with good friends :D

 

 

 

Also, new kit is awesome, I love the much much larger selection.

 

 

 

New dungeon sounds awesome, as long as it's varied enough that really high people have stuff, and semi-high people have stuff (80-90 shouild have stuff, and 100+ or higher should have stuff) :)

Sorry - must disagree with you (and obviously the majority of the forum). IMO the main updates so, far have been rubbish.

 

 

 

Clan Chat - rubbish - just so the children in their little elite clques can talk to each other :wall:

 

 

 

Themed worlds - whats the point - it only produces uneven usage of the servers - we will soon have rants like - "I can't get onto world so-and-so Jagex MUST provide more worlds" (even when there are other non-themed worlds available) or "Stupid Jagex I can't get onto my Home world now"

 

 

 

The only good thing so far is the Trade chat, but that is only a very minor upgrade.

 

 

 

Now, if Jagex were to have released the God dungeon, a thought-provoking/hard/long quest and some sorely needed skill updates (especially to the higher levels) I would be jumping up and down cheering.

Other updates this month include a few more of our small improvement projects. YouÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll be seeing better examine descriptions on some items (which should help establish where they come from) and also some graphical changes, making potentially dangerous game areas LOOK more dangerous.

these complaints seem very insignificant to the vitality jagex has put back in all of its mini games (especially those like castle wars, who would never muster the numbers they once did)

The people playing in the 100 vs 100 castle wars and 250 person fight caves battles seem to be enjoying the updates

 

 

 

the popularity of the themed servers speaks for itself. "rubbish"? load up the client and take a look at any themed server.

this month has been really bad for me as there hasnt been any quests yet :cry:

OK - so you like the upadtes, but I don't. I don't play in clans and I don't like most of the minigames therefore for me the updates are rubbish

 

 

 

I like, Quests, things to do in skills and good quality monsters (with good drops) to fight, I am sure there are a lot of people like me whi also think the updates are rubbish. Come on, surely there is more than 1 person who doesn;t like the updates so far.

 

 

 

Basically it boils down to the fact that Jagex cannot please everyone, as has been pointed out many times on this forum,
