Short or long???

little question: whitch one is the best: a shortbow or a longbow? I decided to start training ranged (i am now lvl 12, f2p) but i don't know what to chose...

A shortbow is better I think. For one, it's not as big as you, and second, I want to say it's more accurate.

They hit equally in all terms, except in distance and rate of fire. Except in situations that demand longbows, you're better off with a shortbot on rapid mode.

Where did you get that info, Mr. Grammar and Spelling? They both have the same ranged bonus, so I doubt that the max hit or the accuracy is higher.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, a long bow might be more useful to kill monsters at a greater distance? For example, the Archers in the Rangers Guild tower?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Logically, imagine holding a longbow, and a shortbow. Which would you be able to operate faster, considering the size? I'd say short bow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So, answer to your question, short bow is faster.

 

 

 

Willow comp bows, i've found, are about the same speed as a long bow, so stick with a regular willow short bow when you hit 40 range.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whether or not Longbows hit more often is debateable, but im not sure. Like stated, they give the same bonus, so you wont be hitting any less in damage, with a shortbow.

I think the long bow does have a accerate hit, mostly because a short bow accerate hit is as fast as a long bow rapid, that means your spending more time on hitting high then fast.

Bows are the favoured weapon of rangers. They can fire normal or poisoned arrows, which can inflict additional damage on an opponent. Longbows are more powerful, but at the price of rate of fire. Shortbows have a quicker rate of fire, but they sacrifice power to achieve this.
