Aneron
Whenever I'm in an area with lower level players, I attract lots of unwanted followers. These followers beg me. I know that the ignore list is there for a reason, but it doesn't stop people from following you, which personally bugs me much more than what the beggars say. I think Jagex could very easily include an option to toggle on/off whether you want other players to be able to "follow" you as part of one of their bits & pieces updates. It would make very many people very happy, and would be very easy to implement. If you disagree, consider the rubber chicken. When you equip it, you gain the ability to "whack" players. It was released a long time ago, and as part of an update that F2P had access to, both of which suggest it was not an update that took a very long time to develop. So why not do this? Don't just post just to say "turn chat off noob" and make yourself look like a moron. I don't intend to disable my ability to communicate with other players to avoid beggars. Von_Goon
You could still technically be followed even if the option was unavailable.
Master_Smither
It would nake it defenitally harder to follow you but they still would........ It would be more of a hassel than a convience. Aneron
I don't think this would be hard to implement. Noobs only follow you because it's easy to do. If they had to click constantly, they would be much less likely to do it, at least that's what I think.
guthix121
I don't think this is worth the effort. It would actually take Jagex quite a bit of time to do this, and I highly doubt it would be worth it. If someone's following you just keep walking to your destination. Most likely, they'll stop after a certain point. Otherewise, you can bring the noob to the other side of Runescape and log out  . Own a forum? Advertise it for Free!!! RU_Insane
Quite simply, whenever I'm in a nonmembers world (a lot of the time, as I'm currently a nonmember :wall:), I tend to draw unwanted followers, who tend to beg me incessantly. It would not be hard to make your "follow" option optional, and I can't think of a single negative effect it would have. Thoughts? Wonderful idea! RIP RU_Insane. Aneron
I don't think it would take that much time, which is really the basis for my argument. It can be done easily, and people would appreciate it, so why not? With the rubber chicken, they demonstrated that they can quite simply add and remove options from players. kemikalkadet
100% support. You get a lot of beggars at the abyssal demons, they follow you so they can keep up while you're being teleported around the room meaning they can just concentrate on typing 'ples can i av a whipe'. If they couldn't follow me i'd most likely be on the other side of the room by the time they've finished typing. It could work a bit like the old trade/compete button where you can set it to on/friends/off.
mrmyk
Just don't let it get to you. Your ignore list is there for a reason although most players do just go away if you don't flame them an answer straight away. Just ignoring them can give negative results as well.
