meili
I don't like people looting my mith+ arrows when I am training. That is why I always try to get an empty server. Yeah, it's not stealing but it's rude. Why do I have to rush back and forth from where I am ranging after every kill just so noobs won't grab my arrows? It significantly lessens training time. Courtesy is dead in Runescape. I normally return whatever people drop if they die (even very expensive stuff) but if arrow noobs die, I'll laugh in their faces instead of giving stuff back. It's not a crime to "steal" people's arrows but RS would be much better if people actually bothered to be polite. I better not see the people who posted here (those who say arrow stealing is good) ever complain about how bad the community is. You are part of the problem. Now don't start that old "It was much better in the old days" nonsense. This has been going on for a very long time. Jagex stated ages ago that there was no such thing as arrow stealing. It's up to the ranger to pick up the arrows in the alotted time. Why do I have to rush back and forth from where I am ranging after every kill just so noobs won't grab my arrows? You don't, you can leave them for somebody else. It significantly lessens training time. Then train on something you can kill in one minute. I don't pick up arrows that other people have dropped, but ranting about people who do won't change anything. It's not against the rules, they are fair game for anyone. cheers Teeg
meili
Now don't start that old "It was much better in the old days" nonsense. No one said anything about the old days except you. In fact, I believe that the old days had more arrow stealers...that just goes to show what *you* know, doesn't it? Then train on something you can kill in one minute. LOL? Do you even read or just react on your own preconceived ideas? I never said I couldn't kill what I train on in 1 minute. I said that it lessens training time to run back and forth every minute. Arrows disappear after 3 mins so if no arrow-picking noobs are there I only have to run around once every 3 minutes. If people are picking up what they didn't drop themselves then I have to run around a lot more. That lessens training time because instead of ranging I have to run around grabbing arrows before noobs loot them. Ashlyn_Hart
Hmmm, I think I must be one of those polite "arrow stealers". If I see a significantly lower leveled ranger than myself, I will pick up the arrows, say "I'll give them back", then actually trade the arrows back to the ranger. It's just that I am paying it forward, so to speak. A high level ranger did this for me once, and I thought I would do the same. Now, if I see that the ranger has the accumulator on, as I do, I leave the arrows on the ground. The ranger can get his own arrows back. I'm a married mother that plays RuneScape. Got a problem with that?
Ginger_Warrior
Technically, we are not "stealing", since that arrow was property of Jagex when it was with the archer, and remains Jagex's property after the arrow has been alegedly 'stolen'. However, pedanticness aside, I see no problem in picking up someone else's arrows. If you come to a gentleman's agreement not to pick up each other's arrows, then fair enough, I have some sympathy for you because someone has gone back on their word, however, if you leave arrows on the floor, it's fair game. You have 60secs to pick up your arrows - that's easily more than enough time. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
Soulthresher
I really don't have a problem with arrow theives because its usually 20 out of the 10k or so I have in the bank. When I range p2p, I have my accumulator, for f2p, I get my arrows cause those darn f2pers are annoying :shame:
Von_Goon
I think its kind of your fault for not picking them up, but its just sad that people steal them, how would tehy like if we stole there dagon plate or something! Arrows should only be able to be seen by you! Dragon plate? No such item mate  Back on topic - Yeah if you can't pick up your arrows before they appear to others then you are pratically giving them away. tintin113
Agh! Having been a ranger for the first year or so of playing runescape, i hate arrow thieves!!! Personally, I think that they should be shot, then hung drawn and quartered, while bleeding to death from the wound incurred by being shot. Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113
anonymouse_
Personally, I think that they should be shot, then hung drawn and quartered, while bleeding to death from the wound incurred by being shot. :evil:Grow up. If someone picks up my arrows is that scamming? No, if someone picks up an item that you have dropped because you no longer require the item then this is not item scamming. When you drop an item it takes a short length of time until it becomes visible to other players, so even if you drop the item accidentally you can still retrieve it again before anyone else has the chance to pick it up. nerdattack16
Sure, arrow stealing is annoying. But I do it sometimes. If they're gonna leave a pile of arrows because they're trying to kill a lesser demon with under 40 range, I shouldn't be yelled at for their stupidity. And if someone takes my arrows, well, I'll just have to get over it. Sig credit goes to ThruItAll. :D
Foodfight13
I don't think Arrow Thieves are the best term for them. In Runescape, we would classify a thief as anyone scams someone or hacks their account and takes their items. The action of stealing implies taking something in a way that is illegal/against the rules. And as evil_eye_70 posted, Jagex does not consider taking someone else's arrows that are on the ground illegal. Yes, we all know it can be annoying. But the only person we can point the finger at is yourself for not picking them up. Jagex isn't going to do anything about it if you complain. -Runescape Addict --- Seven-time Writer for the Tip.It Times-"Yes I have tricks in my pocket, I have things up my sleeve. iwontpk
i steal arrows whenever it is conveinant for me. i train at firegiants in the waterfall which can get pretty crowded, when i steal arrows it seems to get less crowded O:)
snowager286
You can't tell when the arrows become visible and sometimes your killing a monster that takes just a little bit to long to kill and somebody snatches all your arrows up. thats what annoys me, sure you have no right to the arrows anymore but a mature player would not pick up arrows knowing they belong to somebody else. Mak_1027
 I used to steal arrows before I knew better  Now if I see someone ranging I will not pick up arrows, or If I am in a crowded area where arrow thieving is a problem, I will pick them up and then give them back to the ranger in a one-sided trade. highlanders
I'm on side 3: Why'd you range if losing arrows is such a big deal for you? The ava's accumulator makes my arrows last forever anyway lol 2480+ total
Triforceelf
If your to lazy/busy to pick up your damn arrows, then its your fault if someone else does. Hey, if I see a guy with tons of arrows around him ranging something, I will assume he does not want them. If theres only a few, I am guess he is doing his best to pick them up so Ill leave them. So either pick them up, or stop whining when someone else does.
Gamerr
If you train/PK with ranged, prepare to loose arrows. No big deal, I don't understand why people freak out over a few arrows lost...
T. Skill
Although they're fair game once they are visible to everyone, as a ranger myself I feel that if the arrows are fairly high priced(steel+), then it would be nice to ask permission first. To overcome this problem I got Ava's Accumulator on members so I wouldn't have to worry about it. But for those on F2P and those members who haven't done the quest, arrow stealers can be a nuisance when range training, and I think that unless you make it clear that you don't mind if they take your arrows, then it's pretty low. Especially when they do it just to irritate you. Pirate Rosetta stone. Learn a language while you scape.Sounds interesting, but these days how many people really speak Pirate? In non-members most monsters can be killed without your arrows appearing, if you are killing a monster so slowly that others can see the arrows then you shouldn't be killing it as an efficient source of experiance.
