LeggoMyEggo
Well, I want to get extremely freaked out. Like, You don't want to go to bed at night scary. I asked the guy at Movie Galley if he could recomenned any really scary movies and this is what I got. I rented The Hills Have Eyes 1 Unrated. I laughed at it and I wasn't scarred. I also rented Alfred Hitchcoxs Physco(Old Verison) I heard it was scary. But It wasn't. It was scary back then. So do you guys have any suggestions? ____
I didn't think Cannibal Holocaust was scary. Gruesome at times, not scary. My opinion of the current list... Hostel - Gore Saw I,II,III - Gore Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Gore Exorcist - Medicore at best (depends on which version you see) Cannibal Holocaust - Gore IMO they need a new genre for movies (like Hostel and the like) which play on gore to scare people and leave Horror to the ones which use psychological fear to scare. How2PK
How is Hostel scary. It's meant to be a comedy. You're suposed to laugh at it. :? Psycho is scary, so is The Shining, so is A woman under the influence, Jacob's Ladder, so is Das cabinet des Dr. Caligari, so is The Birds and more recentely 1408. TTCM and Exorcist are also scary. Kielmccaul75
It's gotta be Wolf Creek for me. I'm generally not a fan of scary movies (they do nothing for me, really) however being a rural Australian Wolf Creek really hit a nerve for me. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416315/ Another thing I found really interesting with this movie is: Acclaimed film director/writer Quentin Tarantino called it the scariest film he had ever seen

Ghost-Knigth
Hostel was a huge disappointment for me. The whole concept and idea was brilliant but the film is just bad. I personally think Texas Chainsaw Massacre was/is pretty scary. 99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpointsRemember, it's just a gameFeel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat. Rainy_Day
The Ring. Horrible film, gave me nightmares when it was first released. :-$ And House On Haunted Hill. Not sure why, but parts of it really freaked me out. :XD: There are probably more, but nothing major comes to mind. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)RIP Michaelangelopolous

Satenza
I think The Shining is the best horror. I agree with the rest of these guys, Saw, Hostel ect arn't really Horror they're gore films. The new exploitation film genre maybe. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Icingdeath
There aren't very many actual scary movies anymore. Just gory-as-hell movies. I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.
Futurama
The only movie which has absolutely scared the crap out of me in say the past 10 years is The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I'm not sure why but that movie really hit a bad nerve with me and kept me awake for a night or two. Movies by enlarge arn't scary anymore, I sat through saw trilogy being not bothered at all, just thought they were ace movies.

Harrington
I don't think I've ever seen a genuinely scary movie in recent years, but my faves anyway... The Descent - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435625/ Silent Hill - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384537/ I think Halloween is the best ever horror movie. I was genuinely scared watching that one (when I was about 12 lol)

And if you can remember the tourists entering Tom Price, I've driven along that same road. My Last.Fm
pfilc23
I thought When Darkness Falls was pretty scary...it definitely re-kindled the old scared of the dark feelings you have as a kid. I've always found possession movies scary...I thought Exorcism of Emily Rose was pretty freakin creepy. The first Jeepers Creepers was fairly good (mostly more towards the beginning), especially when the kids first drive by and see the creature dropping the body down the shaft. meb
I don't like scary movies (I don't like being scared) but from the ones I watched The sixth sence was a really good one. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.
