Ren
The last game I had played, after I quit rs for a bit, had skill breakpoints. An example of a possible RS skill breakpoint would be that every 9 atk levels, you get a +2% accuracy bonus unincluding what your accuracy bonus increases by every level. I'll make a small, 9 level list to give you an idea. Attack|Accuracy bonus 1 | 1% 2 | 3.5% 3 | 6% 4 | 8.5% 5 | 11% 6 | 13.5% 7 | 16% 8 | 18.5% 9 | 23% At level 9 attack, you can see a noticeable increase in the accuracy bonus from level 8. I feel that it's possible for RS's atk/str to be set somewhat like that. I also feel that it's possible that atk and str can have different breakpoints. I was talking to my brother the other day while playing RS, and I had said "I noticed that I hit my max more often when my strength is 7+ levels higher than my attack.". I do not know for sure if this is true, but my brother agreed, because his pure has 7 str lvls over it's atk and he hits fine. On my main, Renderer_123, my attack and str are 6 lvls apart. 82 atk 88 str, I supposedly can hit 19 or 20 with Rune Scim, but I can hardly hit 18. I partially blame it on the scim's low bonuses. On my 1-def pure, I have 30 atk 41 str. On my rune pure, I have 50 atk 69 str. They both hit rather well when they have 7+ str levels over their attack. It can't be proven until I have confirmed reports from some other people. I don't know if attack makes you hit better/higher if you have a few atk lvls over your str. I've never known anyone that has had 3-10 lvls of atk over their strength. Sorry for sloppiness. I'm no good at writing/typing correctly :| . T. Skill
I say that it depends on the situation. Like you said, dueling, attack is obviously the better stat to have because if you hit constantly and the other person is just hoping for a high hit that they might not get, well, you've got the upperhand. But when it comes to PKing(not DMs) and you need those high hits to kill, then strength is obviously the direction you want to go. It's a 50/50 split like you said. But the best thing is to have both. Pirate Rosetta stone. Learn a language while you scape.Sounds interesting, but these days how many people really speak Pirate? Range_Desire
A friend of mine and me have wondered this for quiet some time. At one point, my account was 94 attack and 99 strength and he was 99 attack and 93 strength. I noticed that he seemed to hit less than me for some reason in our fun-duels (of course, these were also armour duels) and I won a majority of the no-armour duels. Eventually of course, I maxed out attack also (I'm currently 99 attack 99 strength 70 defense). I have found out that it seems to work better if attack and strength are a few levels apart (5 at the most). I do admit, 99 attack does not seem as great as people let on, because I have times when I hit constantly and other times, I'm lucky to hit a 25 (with pots). Well, I hope this helps. Ultimately, it is your decission to make. If you have any questions PM in the game, I'll be glad to help. ~Final Down ~Final DownAchieved 94 magic on 6/23/06 =)Str: 99/99 Combat: 115Att: 99/99 Prayer: 70/70Def: 74/70 Magic: 96/
Skatebdr515
Attack. Lets say you have 99 atk, your opp. has 99 str. he hits 3 0s whilst you hit 3 25s. Then he gets a great 38 in, more 0s, whilst you hit 15- 25s like mad. hes owned. | Dragon drops: 5 | GWD drops: 8 | DK drops: 4 | Obby drops: 2 |
davidium
ill say just keep the 2 stats fairly equal for the best result...you wouldnt want to hit hard rarely or hit low frequently...dunno why ppl always like to keep str higher than attack though...maybe its just a physiological thing... maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cookinglife may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it
gameboypen
Like many have said I prefer attack because hitting constant 20s is better than hitting 0s and a few 30s. It also may be the fact that every 'noob' thinks that they can pwn everyone with there strength.
Xeones
I'll probably keep them even. And, Final Down, YOUR STATS OWN!

Dragonwizerd
it really all depends on your combat range... you want rounded stats with a certain one a little higher by say 5 or 10 lvls Yayyyyyy...
