Craiglowery
DONT POST IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY. Yay or nay? Im specifically talking about cops that take their problems to work with them. Well this morning I got a ticket for being out 3 minutes past curfew. He was being a jerk about it being only 3 minutes past and I was only a block away from home. He even handcuffed me and and threw me in the car, and the cuffs were way too tight and they really hurt. He even gave my mom a ticket for having a license plate cover. Weak. Seemed to me as if he only wanted to meet his quota for the day. And everyone will probably say "Oh they are just doing their job," but when you have bad experiences with them as much as ive had, your view on them changes alot. Anyone have bad experiences with the law?
warri0r45
Your view of police is very narrow then. I'm sure you'd change your mind when you and a group of mates is being chased by people with baseball bats, you ring up and they come and save you from a fractured skull. Nadril
So... you dislike them because they're doing their job? Fun.
jemathonical
I say yay for police. In my opinion they don't get enough respect for what they do. You are a prime example of this. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
____
So wait - you were out past curfew, they give you a ticket, and you dislike them for it? Damn that's weak - don't want to get on their bad side, don't break the law, nub. /yourself

For better or worse when it comes to your experiences, thier lack of existance would see your life a bit worse than just getting a few parking tickets, pedantic fines and hard cuffs, don't you think? king_kenny69
I know a few of the cops in my town, from past, ehh, 'alterations'. They're funny blokes to talk to when everything is casual, but one step over the line and they transition flawlessly into the hard faced, 'that's officer to you, boy', personality. Defender2516
Apparently this community just loves trolling people for fun without actually waking up to the reality of the situation. The guy is on his way home so he doesn't break the law, but time was against him, he apparently doesn't make it and gets handcuffed and fined. 3 Minutes out is not 1 hour out, so its not like he's just playing around the whole time, he's going home TO OBEY THE LAW, but apparently a stuck up cop gets ahold of him. His Mom, who's at her own house minding her own business.. gets fined for whatever reason is also stupid. Its like a cop comming up to your yard, investingating making sure everything is okay.. and then saying "well this isn't, heres your 100$ fine". I'm pretty sure you would be pissed. And please do not even say BS about "you will be happy when they are saving you". Well there was a shoot out at my old neighbor hood, and the local police was too scared to show up, so the police from the OTHER neighbor hoods had to come which wasted time and that means a few guys could have already lost their lives. Cops are not given enough credit for what they do for obvious reasons. I have a few friend cops and I know why. Most abuse their powers. I have seen countless of times where the law cops are suppose to uphold are onces they break. Such as turning on their lights to get by a intersection just so they do not have to stop. Once my cousin showed me a trick, a cop was about a half a mile behind us, and my cousin went the speed limit (40 MPH), and he said "watch how the cop catchs up behind us". And a few minutes later, the cop was behind us. Obviously to catch up, the cop himself had to break the speed limit. Really, you guys are giving cops to much credit. Need I mention the innocent girl getting maced for no reason? If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me
Poopingman
I have a few bad experiences with Police. Most of them are indeed just doing their job, but to assume there aren't "bad" cops out there is daft. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King.... StrOwez
And you'd be the first person to complain if you was being beaten up and no one came to help. But really you know the law and you broke it hence consequences. I thought they taught that school at kinder garden :-k A friend to all is a friend to none. Verminox
Some one i know got beaten up outside their house badly, kicked in the head couple of times. He phoned the police and they weren't interested. The next day it was about 9:00pm he got into his house then the same people came around again, kicked the front door down and had a plank of wood and would have beaten the **** out of him, but luckily his dad grabbed one of them and the rest ran off. They then phoned the police again and they still weren't interested even though they attacked someone unprivocanly and trespassed into his house. StrOwez
^ File a complaint then... There was a guy being beaten up outside our house my mum saw him from the window, so she opened the door, he ran in and the attackers fled thankfully, the police came 2-3minutes later and took statements off us all and hopefully they'll catch the yobs. Anyway I have utmost respect for the police service. A friend to all is a friend to none.
MPM
People bring their problems with them to work, no matter what their job is. It can't be helped. Next time you see him in a gas station, give a wave or something. Try to get to know him, and you will see that he's not a complete jerk :) (hopefully) There's no telling what happened to him at home that day, but 3 mins really is breaking the law, even if it is normally overlooked. ~M
SupportMage
My problem is more with the people who call the police for idiotic reasons. Such as what happened to me, I had a trenchcoat on (it looked badass) and some idiot thought I was a terrorist. It was a tan coat, not a black one. Anyway, the cops come, hands on their guns, and tell me to lie on the ground. I lie down, they take my coat, search it, and arrest me and take me home. For "Menacing". I go back and ding dong ditch the idiot who called them, he calls the cops on me, when though I KNOW he didn't see me. I was behind the house next door before he was at the door, and I had hidden several houses away. Still alive, still alive.
____
And - given the addition to your story about being hand-cuffed and thrown into the police car, I'm willing to bet you didn't take a ticket with good grace, rather you got a rather [bleep]y with the cop.. and it was only then (when you showed agression) did he decide to step it up a notch. If you want sympathy - post everything that happened, rather than half-truths and selective [cabbage] like the first time. It still isn't complete, so I'm calling you made additional trouble than was required over something you could've contested the next day at the police station. Barihawk
In addition, I like how over the course of reading this thread, it went from 3 hours after curfew to 3 minutes. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

ltb2006
I wouldn't say yay or nay. I have bad experiences with some but then again they are usually only trying to do their job I suppose. Some do it better than others.
____
I was not here when the orginal poster posted this, if thats the case, then I agree.Well to be blunt about it, the first post was about 2 sentances long and it's main focus was "I was out after curfew, got a ticket and i hate cops" there was no mention of how long after curfew he was out, of his mum, how far from his home he was, nothing. I'm starting to wish someone quoted the original post, then you'd be able to see what a douche he was about it to begin with.
Bloodstain
Uhh, correct me if I'm wrong, but are license plate covers not illegal? They obstruct or obscure the numbers and letters on your license plate so that if police ever need your license plate (like speeding or going through a red light camera) it is hard of impossible for them to get? If so, your mom is clearly at fault for that one. Also, you fail to tell us if you were heading home or heading out from home, which would change things a lot
