The Holiday Items

The only good looking newish holiday item is the scythe. I'd rather have that than any of the tradeable rares. As it truly is something that I will have and anyone who wasn't around then won't have.

You have to keep in mind what era RuneScape is in. It's midevil based. In those times, if I saw someone walking around wearing a crown, I would probably bow down at his feet because he was most likely a king.

 

On the other hand, if someone saw me walking around walking around in a chicken outfit, I would probably be tarred and (re)feathered by the guy and his friends.

 

 

 

Also, people like "cool" items.

 

Partyhat-A crown (passed the cool test)

 

Scythe (and the grim reaper hood coming up)-spooky (passed)

 

Chicken Outfit-Hooray, I can pretend to be a chicken for easter? (fail)

 

I'm not going to go through all the rares, but you get the point.

How I love my Rubber Chicken. One of the best things in the entire game.

 

 

 

Most outfits are really cool.

 

I think some people are just too spoiled.

 

 

 

If it isn't worth at least 20 mill, or it doesn't give a +100 Strength bonus, it isn't cool -.-

 

 

 

The Scarfs were really cool aswell, together with the hats, it adds something to your wardrobe.

 

Indeed, if those hats were worth 15 mill or something now, more people would consider them 'cool'.

The "problem" that I see with the current holiday items is not that they aren't tradeable but instead that they are all just too darn easy to get. They are given out for like 2 weeks straight. Why don't they simply add one to everyone's bank instead and call it a day?

 

 

 

I still remember planning to stay up late for the Scythe drops and wondering if I would actually get one. These were orginally dropped during the best times for UK based players (makes sense). So, I being a USA based player had to adjust my sleep schedule a bit to make sure I was on when they were dropped. I still remember seeing that pop up message saying that they had been dropped and running around frantically trying to find one. When I finally was able to claim one it came with a sense of accomplishment that, yes, I had one.

 

 

 

Of course, even this proved to be too much for many players based outside of the UK. If memory recalls, enough people complained about not getting a Scythe drop that Jagex relented and dropped them again and again over the next few days (even though they didn't have to). The Scythe (like the bunny ears) is not tradeable, but I'm still happy that I have one. So to me it's not the fact that I can make GP off of it, etc. It's just the fact that it was a challenging drop to get.....

Phats are considered a status symbol indeed, but if it would be a chicken suit I can almost assure you that it wouldnt rise about 300 million gp.

 

Party hats, santa hats, Halloween masks look good. So do the Scythe, Bunny ears, Scarfs and hats.

 

The only 'fun' holiday items are Rubber chicken and the easter ring.

 

I just would like more fun holiday items. I don't care for the looks since my chompy hat is far more awesome then any hat I would want. So is my hunter cape. The other space is always used with armour and weaponary. So yeah, I want more fun holiday items. They will get cool over time, no need to worry about that.

 

 

 

And the chicken suit will never EVER become cool. The only nice looking parts are the boots. The hat is the part that will kill most of the people who look at it in a few years, of laughing.

i like phats mainly because theyre distinct primary colours,white,blue,red,green etc etc.

 

they match with any outfit and look like crowns.

 

 

 

i want more primary coloured holiday items but teh new ones arent rubbish,i love all ive got but tehy dont go with any of my outfits

I only like 2 of the P-Hats for looks.White and yellow because white looks good with anything and yellow because it looks like a gold crown:),And for masks I think all of them look great because they make you look like a dragon.As for any other rares your point is true.

I don't think you can compare a Haloween mask to a easter ring... or to a skeleton suit. It's not just how much it's worth, it's also the way it looks, and new ones looks too childish for people that should be 12+.

Why was that? because most players thought they looked bad and had no value. Why do they regret it now? because they dropped one of the "best" items in the game.

I think that holidays items would be great to wear around and not for just the status.

 

I wear my full camo around and think it looks great with my shield and staff, and it's a re-acquirable item.

To be honest, I don't like any of the recent Holiday Events because the rewards didn't look good :|

 

 

 

The last good event was probably the Easter Ring, and last good clothing event was the Hats and Scarves.

everyone would be crazy about chickens and stuff if they were tradeable and rare they would prob got for 3m+

 

 

 

Eventually all the old tradeable items will be gone because people buy them by buying RS gold with real world money and then get banned with them in the bank. I know of a couple that have disappeared from the realms for this. Not mine, but some casual acquaintances.

I wear my green mask all the time, mainly because it looks good. Its not a status symbol or anything, or to show that I can afford it (heck in f2p thats the last thing you want)

But the item itself (as a general) is oldest,as the items date of entering game defines its age

 

 

 

The ranger option bkthen got you "bow" but as the game got updated bow became "shortbow" so "bow" nolonger exsists but thoose listed do

i dont like phat i dont really hold any rares in god like status except masks expecially red i just love them and the marionettes i love them as well as the [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation], rubber chicken, yoyo and bunny ears all just so awsome dont really care for any other holiday items oo and i like the christmas hats and scarves :D
