Suggest good older multiplayer games on the PC?

Featured Replies

I already have Halo, Red Alert 2.

Preferably none of the new ones since this is for a laptop, not a full-fledged desktop.

Doesn't matter really, as long as it's multi and doesn't require a supercomputer

If you are unto strategy games, Age of Empires II has a quite good multiplayer game, you might like it.

No seriously, you're going to have to narrow it down a bit, because I could easily suggest 50+ very good games that don't require a super-computer to run, and have multiplayer.

Lol, alright. I prefer FPS as a genre. What I don't have that I want is a racing game

No RPGs

Trackmania is a lot of fun if you're looking for a racing game. As for FPS... Call of Duty, Unreal Tournament, Quake, the usual list I guess...

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi outcast. Seriously, even though it's a star wars game it's amazing, i've been playing it non stop for the past like 4 years, just make sure you get jk2 1.02 not version 1.04 (patched version)

Heres an old video one of the players made, this is the capture the flag no force games. There are also free for all with force, Team ffa, duels, etc.

Good game, could probably get a torrent of it

If you're looking for RTS, go with Age of Empires II or either of the Homeworld games, although #2 is very graphic-intensive and needs a fairly rare, older video card. Starcraft is always great, too.

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

Age of Empires 1 is good...and almost ANY computer could play this. It needs..what..16 mb Ram and 1mb Vram?

Well... Warcraft III is pretty old by now, ain't it? Quite handy for all kinds of multiplayer including online play.

That game is the most fun I've had with multiplayer. Light sabre duels are so much fun in that game :D

Very little system reqs.

The ULTIMATE Runescape weapon

Well, for FPS I'd recommend Tribes 2. Hands down the best online FPS I've ever played. I don't know how many active servers there are nowadays though.
