There aren't many examples of it, but some people have actually become well knows in the game through frequent posting on the forums. Who do you know that is like this? Is this your case? Any stories to share?

 

 

 

I myself have a story from recent events. Yesterday, while waiting to play castles wars in the crowded waiting room, A bit of text caught my eye. "Hey look, benar's here!" Two people then walked up behind me and started following me. One of them said "keep up the good guides!". I have several guides in the other sections of the archive of wisdom, and apparently these two had seen and liked them. How flattering! :

I get HYTed a lot by people I have never heard of a lot, I wouldn't call myself famous though. Some people do know me for leading a clan as well, but I don't get much of that anymore ingame.

Like goat said i get hyt'ed alot, but i wouldnt call that "famous". I would define a "famous" person as someone in zezima's position. Where people just come to where you are so they can take a screenshot or follow you.

Then would you say "well known" as describing it better? If your asking about people well known in worlds like 99 (tipits homeworld) then i could give you a long list of names in example, i would say i'm (somewhat) well known on tif and world 99, but not known outside of tipit forums or its homeworld.

Yeah it's never bad but I think the amount of time I spent there was detrimental to my studies. I probably spent more time on the forums than actually playing Runescape some days >_>.

 

It did lead to a chance for me to become a Forum Mod but sadly I was not chosen among the candidates.

I get hyted alot when i do play, but aside from that i consider myself a regular player who communicates with other members of a community :)

I get it good ammount on world 99 (not that it annoys me :P ). Back when I was a global I even started getting random PM's from both p2p and f2p worlds (though not often), which was quite amusing from what people thought I had from being a global (from extra riches to being given pmod automaticly just from being mod on a fansite forum) but I can see how high ranked players can get sick of all that.

 

 

 

Despite all that, I personally feel the Tip.iters declining in world 99, which is probably from the official worlds that Jagex recently released.

I met someone who uses Tip.it on the RSOF once : he then introduced me to Tip.it some time later : (i used RHQ before coming here i regret it)

I have never been hyt'ed :/

Being greeted and recognized by those you don't know is nice, but I'm not too flattered when someone follows me around, and who says I was on their friends list for some reason. :roll:

I am not HYT'd unless I HYT someone first. I don't usually remember anyone from forums but I do remember people from HYT chat.

I once met The_Valor in some remote place, on a random and rather empty world (I lag too much on world 99), HYTed him and we've had a nice chat while skilling together. :D

 

 

 

I kept him on my friends' list but didn't dare to bother him ever again. I guess he must have forgotten about me since all that time and probably took my name away from his friends' list. I can't blame him for it, he he he! :wink:
