October 25, 200718 yr Not sure if it's been said yet but it's more than likely a "safety" feature. If it was allowed you'd see A LOT more people complaining about having lost their items, either by giving it to a "friend" or by someone interfering with your drop trade. If Jagex built a proper system for transferring items between accounts it would make a "hackers" job a lot more simple. So if they say it is allowed they have one of two choices, make a lot more people lose items or people lose a lot more items.
October 25, 200718 yr I think they want everyone to work their way up with ALL accounts. also, autoers can dump all their logs onto one account and sell at once if it wasnt a ruleBecouse autoers have the utmost respect for jagex rules right?  Worst post ive ever seen... ever. I think he meant they could do it without Jagex being alerted to suspicious behavior. If it wasn't a rule they wouldn't be looking for people doing it to ban them. You obviously don't browse the forums much if that's the worst you've seen...But they dont get cought doing it, autoers do it daily regardless of the rules, and if you look at my post count its pretty damned obvious i browse the forums often. Do you know how many trades go on in runescape every SECOND? if you think jagex is monitoring them all trying to catch autoers your sadly mistaken. Yes, they are. They have certain mechanics set in the game to flag unbalanced trades, and they look at those. I'm not stupid, I saw your post count, that was sarcasm. That was far from the stupidest post I've seen, I find it hard to believe that was the stupidest you've seen; I think you were just being a jerk.
October 25, 200718 yr to me you have 2 choices: either obey they're stupid rules and not bother or break the rules and do it risking your account (don't want it banned) i don't know why such a rule is there but since it's Jagex we'll never know (until someone smart figures it out)
October 25, 200718 yr Don't even think about doing it guys.. I was banned last year and lost about 64 rares It's not worth it :shame: Wow - didn't know people actually got caught doing it. I used to do it - and i thought it was a stupid rule - now i never will again
October 25, 200718 yr They made the rule so they can distinguish between real world item traders and normal players. If everyone was allowed to trade between accounts they would have much less evidence to ban with.
October 25, 200718 yr Quote: Why do we have this rule? We have this rule to maintain a fair gaming experience. We don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want RuneScape to become a game where everyone feels they need to use multiple accounts at once just to compete! It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s much better to team up with your friends. That's why, friends and teamwork^^ Master of Firemaking since 10-11-2007 Yes, I QUIT! =] Master of Woodcutting since Christmas 2007Completed all quests - Completed all achievement diaries.
October 25, 200718 yr Does anyoen remember that when yous tart a new character you agree with rules of confuct. There it says that "our" accounts is acctually JaGeX propertya nd tehy can do whatever they want with them, +you agree to OBEY the rules. Go and read it. The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals.
October 25, 200718 yr If you ask me he has a valid point. All these accounts are ours in the end. Although they are the 'intellectual properties of Jagex' which is what makes us lose our edge as that was what we agreed to when we registered to RS. He has a valid point and i think likewise however the terms and conditions we dont read at all when we first register and click accept contradict what we speak now. They have the rights to shut our accounts down and we cant do crap because its their property :( Do you realize just how badly you contradicted yourself there? Realistically, RS and everything in it - including our accounts - are property of Jagex. They're not ours to do with what we will, we're just "borrowing" them. That's a very small reason why they don't allow real-world trading or account selling (of course, the major reasons are rl security and stopping in-game cheating). And, also, as the above quote points out, it keeps it so a newbie doesn't need a swarm of lvl-3s to compete; imagine for a moment the mining guild, or worse, all the rune mines filled with accounts that all belong to the same person, an that the same person trades all the ores to his main for massive profits. How is that fair? Sure, he did all the work on all the accounts to reap the rewards, but now no one else can reap those rewards even though they did all the work on only one account. October 25, 200718 yr A level 3 could find 100mil on the floor is that fair? Or be given alot of money thats an unfair advantage, people give out free Iron armor is that fair to the other level 3s that don't get it?
October 25, 200718 yr A level 3 could find 100mil on the floor is that fair? Or be given alot of money thats an unfair advantage, people give out free Iron armor is that fair to the other level 3s that don't get it? yea i think you have a point here, so i think that this rule is a bit [cabbage] barrows:dh axe, guth chainskirt, ah staffX2, v skirt, t leggsX2,dagannothkings: zerkerbandos: plate, bootsX3 tassetsX3(1 solo)
October 26, 200718 yr ...Why? ...Why does drop trading/using friends Because it's Jagex's game and they make the rules. We don't have to like it and they don't have to justify their position to us. If we don't like it then we are free to take our money elsewhere and play a game like EQ that actually has a shared bank account (money and items) between 8 characters that you have. RS is a game that competes against other games for the attention and money of players. We can always "Vote with our feet" by leaving and begin playing another (free) game... on world of warcraft you can send items between your accounts via the mailboxes located in every town. and pures are called twinks and the whole world can be the wilderness if you play on a pvp server also their are battlegounds which are like castlewars but they have different level brackets.........and....nvm thats enough
October 26, 200718 yr Whats the point of making more then one account anyways.. Pures are overrated. Skillers are unoriginal. Get used to it. My blog to *100cb F2P* :XD: Check it out!
October 26, 200718 yr I have 2 words for you Gold Farmers. From my understanding, they trade tens of millions to a level 10- right, okay so how are they going to catch them, do you expect them to watch every player? They have codes to detect large amounts of money for nothing to a lower leveled player. So to protect their automated customer service [/sarcasm] they don't want to unfairly ban players that are making new accounts. Well, that's my two cents take them or leave them... :) Best Thread ever I am amazing. You are dirt :-w
October 26, 200718 yr Don't even think about doing it guys.. I was banned last year and lost about 64 rares It's not worth it :shame: Wow - didn't know people actually got caught doing it. I used to do it - and i thought it was a stupid rule - now i never will again i've did it for ages, multi log, drop trade, transfer through friend, never got caught doing it. not small increments either, hundreds of millions or a few rares at a time. their detecting systems are worthless unless you are a complete tard. What?
October 27, 200718 yr It's allowed in another game I play so I don't think there's a hard and fast rule about this in MMORPGs. Jagex just doesn't want it done because it "unbalances" the game and it's a bit harder to tell if a char is cheating or not if you could trade with your other char.
