Phyrexial
many people level up different ways do you pick a skill and level it to 99, work on all skills evenly, or just have your own little way. I myself can't seem to stick to just one skill so, I try to level all of my skills in different time frames. I hear it's not good to do that since you waste alot of time just changing over from skill to skill, input would be helpful. kieranread
I usually do what i can be bothered to do. Although im training farming, and herblore quite a lot. But i usually end up getting exp in different skills while im training certain skills. like combat exp when getting secondaries from hobgolins, or unicorns. I get woodcutting exp to waste time while im waiting for them to grow. Depends when and where i am at the time to what i train. I take it easy, not one of those people who powertrain. Only do what i need, and never buy stuff (I think its better to get the exp myself rather than buy stuff)
Kevin_
I just get skills 1 lvl up a time, and if i feel like getting it to 99, i'll do it. Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.
Voldmort0
I like to train whatever I feel like doing atm. But if I'm really into a certain skill I just pull it through all the way, even though it's likely that I take a few days break in between. After all, runescape is about lvling while having fun not just power lvling your character :P Runescaper since June 2005Blog

PastyGangsta
I usually try to keep my combat skills about even, other then that I level whatever I feel like leveling up at the present moment... Soon (If I ever get a chance to log back on) Ill start working on getting all skills 70+. \
h0b0pie
I tend to get exp to level up, that's my key idea. But i only level up non-Combat skills (i like being level 99) so while i sit and fish sharks i work the mathematics out for length of time to gather X amount of resources valued at lowest value on the market of Y to overall meet goal Z. at the moment, i'm fishing sharks at a value of 1k each for the goal of i'm not too sure. :-k

andy_matthews
I train either according to quests, or what gives me a decent amount of money, to train another skill. Normally, when I was a member, my day started out with picking flax, and that is all. I repeated this for about a week, then I strung them into bowstrings. I then sold them all, and worked on getting whatever I needed to finish my House Upgrades plan, and upgraded my house. Then I repeated, starting with flax. Now that I am a free user, I just work on mining and smithing. I do steel bars, and store them in my bank. I am currently working on a plan to get to 70 mining, and 70 smithing. That is basically what I do to raise skills. Choose a skill needed for a quest, or to get money.
Walk_On2
I Make a goal, stick with it for a week, and switch. Or if I find a great way to make money I do that a lot. For example, once I want 99w c, I cut for about a week, got bored, and got 85 wcing (and around 5m). now I'm training combat and slayer, and crafting. The_Bacon_Man
I usually make goals per every 10 levels. I just finished leveling up to 40 herblore. I bought the guams I needed, and ran as many seconds and vials I needed for the 10 levels and made them. Then I took a break, and worked on other skills or pked. I really just keep doing this for a change of pace, so instead of 40k exp till your goal, you'll find it being only around 12k. JJGM
I usually try to train a skill to a much higher level than it was before (Example: from 50-70 atk) and take little breaks in between by training other skills so I don't get too bored. Rebdragon
If you're liking a current skill at the time, train it. If you want to try something else, try something else. Whatever it takes to have fun. What, do you want us to tell you how to bore yourself out of skilling? Play your way, not someone elses, please. Skull
I look at my levels and see what I want to be able to do (i.e. 70 mining for addy, 75 woodcutting for mages and so on.) Then I break up my levels by what I think I can do/want to do in a week. That way I'm always doing something and always have the choice to do something else if I get bored. Not the fastest way of doing things, but it keeps me entertained : [bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp

unkn0wnwarrior
I set a goal of something that would benefit me (even if it means just opening up a bank space or two) and strive to achieve it. I am currently going for 90 fishing and cooking.

mikehild
Right now, I am evenly training all my skills. Switching a skill every few days is actually extremely enjoyable, and I've discovered that a number of skills that I thought I hated, I actually really like. My current goal of all skills 80 or higher has been a really fun experience because of the variety of spending a bit of time on each skill.
