ixfd64 Posted October 31, 2007 Share Posted October 31, 2007 Some of you may know me as an old school player. I started on February 6th, 2001, and I've played on and off ever since. I tried to log in earlier today, and I was told that I was banned for "hacking" someone. What on planet Earth? Why the heck would I be dumb enough to risk a 6.5-year-old character for a few million GP? :wall: I did let some people use my computer for a few hours last week, and it was probably something I shouldn't have done. I haven't written an official appeal yet, but I plan to do so within the next few days. Also, I've heard rumors that players can get unbanned even if they've used their last chance appeals, but I don't know if this is true. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Apparently, Jagex rarely reads appeals and never answers e-mails. In the event that all my avenues are exhausted, I'll probably work on my new character, Ixfd64_Rs2. If my main does gets unbanned, I'll probably make Ixfd64_Rs2 a skiller. I know that what is achieved can be achieved again. True, it's 6.5 years of work down the drain, but RuneScape is so easy to level now. If I work hard enough, I could probably get back all my stats (see below) in a year or so. I'll no longer be able to play RS Classic, either. :( Yes, I'm a bit sad, but it's just a game (so don't worry, I'm not going to kill myself over it or anything :lol:). Thanks for your support. P.S. Anyone else ever had this situation? I've heard that people have been banned for hijacking/RWT because they received free items or accepted unbalanced trades. Then write your appeal, if you can throw good doubt upon the evidence they will un-ban you. If you can't and there evidence is pretty solid then its your own fault tbf. Lets_3ekout Posted October 31, 2007 Share Posted October 31, 2007 Hey, If by "using your computer" you meant letting your friend on your account or anything similar, he might have drop traded some items from his account to yours (don't know why, but you never know :P ) and it looked sort of like you "hacked" into your friends account, drop trading the loot to yourself. When you send in the appeal just remember to take your time writing it up, don't write anything foolish that you'll regret later. You may only get one real chance where it isn't handled by an automed bot (or whatever Jagex use to take care of majority appeals and such), and typing a mature looking, responsible, well spelt and structured apeal will work so much better then telling them they suck because they ban and you want them to go die in a hole (not insisting that you have that view on them, but I've seen mulltiple people waste accounts so they can express an opinion the staff, which the staff probably won't even care about in the end). As for the multiple chance question, I can't tell you because I haven't got a black mark yet let alone ban. But the last time I checked, everything was pretty normal, and I could detect no keylogger. Friend got banned for hacking over 200 accounts, he just said he was sorry, regrets ever doing it and felt that the banned was an eye opener...still playing today ) You could say ( weather you did anything or not ) : Dear jagex, I'm sorry that I did break ( enter rule/offence here ). this ban has been a real eye opener for me . I realise now that breaking ( enter rule/offence here ) really is not worth the risk and i wish to change my ways and become a better player. thank you for hearing me out -Your name hear ps. srry for spelling and capitalization errors....late for school =] ~ I farm, there for you eat ~ Got food? I wonder if someone you let use your PC saw you type your RS pass in, and then used it in some illegal manner! Could you have been hit with a keylogger or something? He wanted to show me his bank, and I was playing, so I logged off and let hi log on. He wanted to duel with me, so I accepted and won some items. It turned out that the accout wasn't his at all. Since it was logged on using my computer, Jagex must have detected it and thought that I stole it. yanksrule Posted November 1, 2007 Share Posted November 1, 2007 stinks. i got hacked 5 times i think. i had one account: yankees82 or something like that. i made another account (yanxrul) as like a backup account cause i knew something along the line might go down. it did =P then i got another backup account: demyanx. that was for weird things that could have gotten be bannd. wont tell you what i did. then there was yankees9282 and i gave that to some one because she hacked yanxrul and i had to get the account to like 40 combat and i got mine back..... changed EVERYTHING once i got it back thank god........ by the way demyanx was bannd *go figure* and when i went to the appeal thingy they said you've been bannd no ifs or ands and buts. i did kinda want to get rid of it so i went into draynor and starting saying: ******* report me...... lol kinda worked? Wow, watching this thread is better than pro wrestling! =D>This thread is probably better than pro wrestling because the fights here are real (And the boobs). Lightning55 Posted November 2, 2007 Share Posted November 2, 2007 I used to have a acc from rs classic times, i was always f2p and my char grover12345 had 80 atk 99 str and 60 def it was sad because i got bored and stopped playing for a year, the next year, when i went to check on him, he was banned and i had no chance because Jagex said he was banned in Oct and I stopped playing in Aug....... I restarted in Apr and it was too late to appeal.... I feel your pain so deeply, I had a white party hat from the christmas event too.... I still even remember the sleeping bags that you had to carry everywhere..... You might want to appeal as fast as you can.... I appealed to no avail. Had full gold cws armor, full infinity, full void (all 3 helms). Adicolorz Posted November 2, 2007 Share Posted November 2, 2007 Its similar - i got perm muted 4 weeks ago, i used up all my appeals apologising, i sent jagex many emails from the customer support thing and everytime i sent a message they reviewed my situation - be rational and prove its not worth the ban, soon a j mod will see you side but be persistant, dont give up and good luck!
