I was watching Noggin tonight and Kenan and Kel was on, and it reminded me of how much I used to and still love Nickelodeon in the 1990's.

 

 

 

Does anyone here ever remember anything from good ol' Nickelodeon?

 

 

 

Some of my favorite shows were: Kenan and Kel, All That, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, Hey Arnold, Pete and Pete, Doug, Stick Stickly, AHHHH! Real Monsters!, Clarissa Knows It All, Kablam, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Angry Beavers, and The Secret Life of Alex Mac.

 

 

 

I used to love All That. My favorite skits were with Ear Boy and Pizza Face, and Superdude was awesome. Even though Superdude was lacktose intolerant, Butter Boy and Milk Man were no match for him!

 

Ishboo was a cool dude too.

AHHHH! Real Monsters! was on a few days ago so I watched it :P.

 

 

 

I miss those shows.

I used to really enjoy Angry Beavers and Hey Arnold. Both, especially the latter, were great shows that if they were on now for the first time, I would watch them. Rugrats was also pretty enjoyable.

 

 

 

There are probably other Nickelodeon shows I liked, but they were rebroadcast on YTV where I live. All the popular ones, anyway.

Man classic Nick was the best, it was pretty much my entertainment during my kid years. :P

 

 

 

 

 

All of those show's I remember. I used to love Rocko's Modern Life and Are you afraid of the dark, and of course Ren and Stimpy.

 

 

 

 

 

What's really funny is the obscene amount of innuendo all of the old nick toons had. Seriously, just try and watch a Rocko's or Ren and Stimpy episode these days, you'll be amazed at what you missed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As far as more modern shows go Hey Arnold was pretty good, and for a much (ish) more recent one spongebob squarepants was still pretty funny to me, even now.

Kirsten Dunst was in Are you afraid of the dark ^_^. Old Skool Nick was great. Kids these days have got no idea how cool it used to be.

The current Nickelodeon is so trashy, lol. I have it as a part of a cable subscription of some 60 channels, not that I particularly watch cartoons and stuff... They now mostly have mass produced, low-budget 'teen series' with scripts more boring than watching a snail hike to China.

Ahh yes. Nickelodeon. Our family has never had Austar so I only got to watch it when we went on holiday and stayed in a hotel with Austar, ha. I loved Real Monsters, Angry Beavers. Rugrats, Hey Arnold!. Rocko's Modern life freaked me out too much lol.

 

Good times. I was young back then. :)

Nowadays Nickelodeon is dominated by 1 series shows, which are getting worse and worse. Though they do still have Spongebob. :-w

All channels suck nowadays compared to the good ol' days. remember old sky? I mean.. REALLY old sky. before sky digital came out and it was just sky. cartoon network, channel 21. Those were the days.

 

 

 

back when toonami was a Channel of it's own, and it was in the 300s somewhere, not right next to CN where it gets corrupted full of crap that nobody watches. toonami was an ANIME channel, and a goddam great one at that. Now its just a segment on CN.. and its not even cartoons anymore!... long gone are the days of 72 hour dragonball Z marathons, and that brilliant advert that seemed to go on forever... goddam I miss good old telly.

I loved old Nick. Rocko's Modern Life freaked me out, I agree Jem. . . And I can barely remeber any of AHHH! Real Monsters, but I definitely remember watching it. Hey Arnold is probably one of the best cartoons of all time, Rugrats was great too. Angry Beavers was meh.

 

 

 

Looking at them now, I can understand why I stayed away from some. The art style was pretty dang freaky.

 

 

 

Of course, now it's worse, and you have stuff like that Mr. Meaty show. . . ack.

well I meant like all the innuendo in it. I swear, there was more than even like Ren and Stimpy. (which I have no idea how it was a childrens show, at times R&S was downright graphic. :lol: )

Why'd you remind me? The shows kids watch these days are horrible. "Tween" shows about middle school, real life, no cartoons!

The only one you missed was the original cast of All That, and Rocket Power, oh, and the Amanda show. I'm sure I'm still forgetting a few. But yeah, omg i loved old school nickalodean. It was amazing.

 

It's a shame the crap they put on now. I mean seriously all of their "original" sitcoms are virtually thr same thing. Although I am glad to see that Dan Schneider is still writing for Nick. He's a genious.

Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold, All That, and the Amanda Show simply amazed me when I was younger. Double Dare was also a favorite. I still watch a few of the shows on Nick (Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents), but most of them are downright atrocious (Zoey 101, ICarly, Mr. Meaty).
