It has been announced in October this year that Britian who won't give away to much details (for good reason of course), have created a invisible tank.

 

 

 

To the human eye, its naked with with the help of some video camera's and computers. Britian still isn't fully satisfied with the work, but plan on producing them in 2012.

 

 

 

USA hasn't back down on cloaking either and steadily working hard to make cloaking soldiers.

 

 

 

All in all, if we had a world war 3 somewhere down the road, it certainly beats the smack out of WW2.

Battlefield 2142 anyone? (expect 100 years earlier? lol!)

I believe they've said they can do this for a while, it's just a matter of not having the materials to be able to. It's something like a whole bunch of really small mirrors all over something, that would "cloak" it. Seems like a great idea, it'd just be really expensive, and it'd be really time-consuming to make...I'm guessing they couldn't be mass produced.

Maybe, but they won't know till they keep working at it and whoever gets the "mass cloak army first" will probably put it to good use!

Clever... but with war these days being more about guerilla fighting, suicide bombing and IEDs is there really a need for an "invisible" tank on the battlefield?

You'd still hear the engines, smell the fuel and exhaust, see the tracks on the ground...

It's nice little trick. But nothing groundbreaking. I wouldn't call it to be anything near invicible. The idea is that there is a picture of bacground is shooted to the object what is wanted to be invicible. This wouldn't work on real time. It would require too much 'hassle', like seperate cameramans and its hard to do it when the object is moving or the wiever is not in the exact point.

If it does work, all you'll be able to see a blurr, or hear the tank.

It won't work, trust me. It would cost too much, and not very suitable for combat.

I consider this a lot more credible than UFO's. For one, I've read Moore's book, and it offers some interesting evidence that can't just be tossed out the window. And it goes off on a tangent about the Biefeld-Brown Effect, which is most definitely not a hoax. Not saying that I am totally convinced in a govenment conspiracy (I'm not highlanders :P ), but the Philadelphia Experiment is still a very intriguing peice of history.

Star Wars was not a waste in it's day. You probably didn't have the benefit of being born and raised at the height of the Cold War, but even a four year old like me was scared stiff of nuclear Armageddon.

 

 

 

The American people were behind Star Wars and STI research. It's just that the Cold War ended before the project was completed, and the government cancelled the project as it wasn't needed.

We'll all be fighting with infrared in the future anyways, so this is obsolete. And expensive.

The possibility is a deterrent as it is. Its just like TV detector Vans. There are no such thing they just have a database of addresses and crosstab it by another database of people who have not renewed a TV license and visit the property. There is no detector machine.

Actually, they did start with a strand of copper wire. I read about it last year i think.
