December 13, 200718 yr Hello all, After this weeks..interesting updates I went toedgeville bank to trade my herbs for potions since I had bought seconds and wanted more herbs than I already had. I ask if people have snapdrags and they trade me but decline saying my pots are ointless now. I, being shocked and disgruntled due to lack of exp, went to see the updates page to read them more throughly whenI saw the 3k trade limit in January sentance. I rush to edge and trade potions for herbs again and see the price being over 3k for almost every trade. Do you think Herblore will be ruined by the new trade system in January? In my opnion it will due to you cant trade pots for herbs which will make a lot of eager herbloreists, like myself, very angry =; Post your thoughts please! 118 combat99 construction, hunter, firemaking, woodcutting, cooking, fletchingSara Drops:1x hilt 1x SSArma Drops:1x HiltRex Drops:7x D axe 3x Beserker ring 2x Warrior ringDragon Drops:1x Chain
December 13, 200718 yr i'm sure you'll figure out a way to gain xp. what the grand exchange did to herblore was like what poh altars did to prayer. herblore is still a great skill you have to admit. December 13, 200718 yr Why don't you just sell the pots then buy the herbs with the money? My action packed blog of achievment!
December 13, 200718 yr Why don't you just sell the pots then buy the herbs with the money? Because you lose money that way. The materials for the potions are priced higher than the final product, because they give exp, and are a general hassle to get. 2480+ total
December 13, 200718 yr No, I don't think that herblore will be ruined with the new update in January. It will just become harder to train. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
December 13, 200718 yr well, the demand for potions was largely from pking, so that's likely to affect it a lot. for example, i just bought 100 sup restores for 5k each, compared to the old price of 9k.
December 13, 200718 yr i hope summoning ties in a few skills.. until now i had not considered giving a potion to a monster i summon.

The materials for the potions are priced higher than the final product, because they give exp, and are a general hassle to get. Losing money is normal in many other skills too and I assume most of the high lvl herblorists have either grown their own herbs or lost money due it. After all many people with a reasonable amount of herbs know that they could get more money for herb+2nd+vial than they'd pay for a potion. Yes, this update will remove one way to gain an exra xp to herblore, but it doesn't kill the skill. December 13, 200718 yr i hope summoning ties in a few skills.. until now i had not considered giving a potion to a monster i summon. I hope it's the case, that would really help herblore out. im also hoping within the year, the addition of better potions for magic and range, perhaps a guthix brew? instead of leavin guthix out with guthix tea. if jagex helps fix the 3k trade limit some potions could be very helpful for fighting against summoned monsters or future boss monsters. im still kind of hoping for better salamander tar as well... i believe i hit a 41 with the range kind(dont quote me, its been a week or 2). this game has so much potential right now, honestly jagex showed a bold side of them selves with the removal of the wilderness pking. i hope they find the courage to answer the calls and demands of better game player now. and i think godwars was a BIG step in high level content, as far as im concern it was the reason i was looking for to spend $.
December 13, 200718 yr You could train herblore in no time. So it just balanced herblore. Now it costs more for a couple of lvls. It costed me 200k for 57-60. But I made the potions in 25 mins >.

Well that's true but Super Restores have been low ever since GE came out since so many people were selling them. I had bought a hundred or so before this update for 5k for Fight Caves.
December 13, 200718 yr I havn't read all the replies to this topic, but what about runecrafting, law running is doomed :ohnoes: [/bads]

The prices dropped when GE came out, not when these news were leaked. The same has happened to every other potion (and at least most of them are going down almost every day still) too. This is because the supply rose a lot: people are now getting rid of their pots and training more herblore as there's now easier and faster ways to get the materials. December 13, 200718 yr Okay, apparently I have been away for a while. What is "GE"? I have seen several people mention it. Thanks in advance.

If you'd actually ever done it you'd know that crafters trade 2k + 25 noted ess for 25 unnoted ess. As the entire value of this trade is under 3k it doesn't even come close to being affected by the update. give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever

December 13, 200718 yr Okay, apparently I have been away for a while. What is "GE"? I have seen several people mention it. Thanks in advance. Yeah, it stands for the Grand Exchange. Basically it's a place above the west Varrock bank, that you put your items up for sale, and put bids on items already for sale. Basically you don't directly deal with any one specific person... There's definatly more to it, involving specifics and things, but that's the jist... -Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now.
