Jagex has supposedly killed RWT, right?

Yesterday, when I was in lumbridge, I saw a bot. They were advertising a website that had supposedly found a way around the updates. I went to the website to see if it was true, and sure enough, they fould a way around the updates.

Now RWT is undamaged, and us innocent players are getting screwed by Jagex's attacks on them :x :wall: .

Here's a list of what Jagex did, and how it's useless.

Party Room drop: Very inefficient. Anyone can get the drops.

Stake limit: Can still be used to transfer anything

No PK: with the drop limit, it's pointless.

Drop: Kills the point of PK in bounty hunter. An unnesccecary sacrafice.

No unbalanced trade: RWT will just transfer the goods a bit at a time, or even worse, just sell cash for the items so that the player can get them off the GE, making the econemy even worse.

You try transferring 1m with a stake limit.. (Not really. :P)

But you should probably tell Jagex if RWTers found a way around the updates. :ohnoes:

(Wait and see how many you find in January though..)

I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.
Pics or it didn't happen.

ummm so how did they get around it lol... :-s

I don't quite remember. It didn't go into detail. I think it was something like the player giving out their password, them getting the gold(with a bot program), and trading for the item.

That isn't getting around the system :x For all we know they aren't selling gold they are trying to hack people..

They could be. I can't imagine anyone stupid enough to do it. And I'm not sure if it was exactly like that.

I think what he said (my friend went on the site and told me the same thing) is that the farmers actually go onto *your* account and get money for you that way.
That's what I mean.

How would I contact them about it?

You guys don't seem to frickin get it.

There's always going to be ways around COMPLETELY stopping RWT.

But if you make the masses not want to do it - if you make it highly unprofitable in comparison to other games, they will move on. Which they're doing.

There are a lot of ways to ban bots, and to ban RWT accounts (like if you give someone your pass and they work it for you)...

Jagex said they simply couldn't keep up with the new accounts being built and botting for resources (for instance, building a level 60 char to kill greens takes hours, not days) - there's a big difference between resources botting and account building. I don't doubt these types of accounts won't be banned or found easily.

But yeah, these updates... definatly are pathetic....its so funny...

Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now.

Using the personal account to circumvent the interplayer effects of RWT is impractical enough that it could be seen as negligible. The player in question will undoubtedly get banned instead of thinking they got away with it for months.

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

Trying to get aroudn any updates at this time is general a bad idea, all you can do is try to take a profit from the updates, like the Grand Exchange does to me :)

By the way: noticed the decline in macroers?

So you're telling me you went to a website that had information important enough to post, and then you don't remember what the information was. Am I wrong to doubt you?

In any case, that method has been talked about and from a business standpoint wouldn't be particularly profitable for the farmers.

A few days after the update, I visited some RWT services and quite a lot still offer to sell gold. Usually, they offer to grind/macroe it for you, but sometimes they seriously claim to have found a way around it (an example can be found here). I really doubt Jagex can kill it all without removing any kind of player interaction.

They can still trade it..

If a player SERIOUSLY wants to buy 12K of gold an HOUR they may want to try another game. From the standpoint of it taking over 2 days to trade a million I doubt ANY company is going to be making tons of real world cash that away. PLUS it's much more obvious something shady is going on if a toon is doing dozens of unbalanced trades with the same account over and over.

If a player is STUPID enough to give his account details to one of thee companies so they can make the gold on his account he deserves the ban he WILL get.

Even if the company DOESN'T get banned for botting the gold, it will be rather obvious something is going on if an account that usually logs in with an American IP suddenly logs in on a proxy server on Asia ten minutes after logging out.

An EASY ban, and no way any one can claim it was a "mistake".

Same with buying preloaded accounts.

Accounts that were made and used in one country suddenly get new credit cards and a new IP in a totally different country?

Easy bans, and no possibility for mistake.

RWT will never be removed totally. But the days for thousands of bots ruining the game and the market for players is over.
