Has anyone but me notice that the amount of players with the ranging skill cape has increased 10 fold?

 

 

 

I chose 1 spot to see how many skill capes I see in 10 minutes.

 

I chose the Ectofungus near Canifis.

 

 

 

In 10 minutes I seen:

 

Mage: 2

 

Strength: 1

 

Farming: 1

 

Slayer: 1

 

Range: 7

 

 

 

Considering I was in a random location at a random time that is astonising.

 

There were more Range capes than all else put together.

 

 

 

Some may say its because of bone bolts at 3 ea.

 

Some may say its blind chance.

 

But I think Range is simply the combat of tommorow.

Probably just chance. I will say that Range is rather common as it is now a buyable cape, it shouldnt be THAT common.

Ill just post I agree to make you happy. But I really don't care if more people have ranged capes these days. More people to sell bolts to.

There has been an increase in training spots/methods for range this year such as chin's and bone bolts. However, your survery is absolutle rubbish :P.

90% of the people with the cape shouldn't even be called rangers, bloody chins/cannoners.

 

 

 

Us proper rangers got 99 range via the good ol' bow and arrow method. I remember when I used to be in the top 300 for range, good times.

This proves nothing.

 

There is no doubt that some of those people also had a strength/attack cape but chose to wear a range cape because its harder to get than being a PC product.

 

Also maybe yuo were hanging out on a world where a range clan goes, or maybe afew friends were going on a happy ranging trip. Maybe even an old staking world where high range is common for bolt use.

 

Also you'd need a bigger survey.

It was just randomness that made you get this result. I don't think that ranging will be the combat style of tomorrow either.

I got 99 before all the new easy training methods made it alot easier. It annoys me how my precious 99 is becoming less rare

Range is more popular now, due to the availibility of resources at lower prices and that Range actually competes against Melee. A tank ranger in torags with a rune crossbow and diamond bolts/dark bow spec will often beat a meleer who uses a whip.

My acctual point was that if this is a taste for things to come skill capes will not be respected as they once were.
