Astral Runecrafting Profitable?

My main worry is that now that youve posted this, everyones going to go runecraft astrals and they wont be profitable again.

 

No the issue now is that i notice a widespread popularity of using the string jewellery spell for fast magic exp and afk (people love this word), using f2p to help them make quick unstrung amulets which is really decent craft exp for f2p. Since each amulet uses 1 set of runes and each spell uses 2 astrals, the demand is not for humidify, but for this particular spell.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

um, lunar magics are members only...unless i missed your point entirely, which it is possible that i did :P

Only 5 days ago they were 132-135ea..

 

 

 

Very probably one or more merchants have found new items to play with :?

 

 

 

However, with rc 82, astralcrafting can still be nice earnings

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i bought some 2 weeks ago in ge for roughly the 180 price, no way it did a wild [wagon] dip like that and back.

Freesia means you get the F2P people to make the amulets fast + cheap, then log onto members and String them.

I started Astral crafting about a day before this thread appeared. 35k exp per hour? I'm sorry but that would be like 8k Astrals an hour :shock:. Zarfot said in his 14 or so page RSOF guide to 75-91 RC that Astrals are about 24-26k exp an hour. String amulet spell was pretty cool, I remember sometimes finding ammys at a general store for 100 ea <3:.That's gone now, but it looks like people still like the spell. I'll be Astral crafting until 91 or until Summoning is out 8-).

I would say it's profitable, because Humidify gives the same XP as High Alchemy, and it doesn't make you lose any money, in fact you turn a profit if you buy empty vials, fill them, and resell them for more...
ok, i kinda added up costs and stuff and it doesnt seem profitable, i dont know, i might have messed something up but could you explain the process please? thanks

 

 

 

I'm not sure of the exact profit or loss because I make my own natures, and mine my own ess, but I would equip my steam staff so I would only lose an astral per cast, stand at the G.E., buy, say 1k vials, cast Humidify so many times, and resell 1k water-filled vials for more. I never got exact numbers, but I usually made a small profit.

I have also read that guide and was why I doubted that the time was indeed 45 seconds a trip. But 35k experience an hour is 3634 essence made into Astrals + 303 essence made into deaths (just short of 35k). Even though it is possible to complete 2.5-2.8k essence an hour through the abyss with 75+ runecrafting, I seem to doubt that this big of an increase could be made with Astrals. I was wondering whether I should go time this myself to see what the really is per trip.

I highly doubt the demand is much high, it is more likely that the supply is low.

 

 

 

The supply is low now, and it will always be low for as long as Lunar Diplomacy remains to have very high requirements to complete. But, if Humidify becomes popular, the demand will rise, and the price will rise.

 

 

 

Low effort + High Value Products = Big profits. You just got to get over the first hurdle of finishing Lunar Diplomacy.

 

 

 

The only problem is that in order to have a need for Astral Runes (ie use Lunar Magic), you would most likely be able to craft the Runes for yourself. After all, not many people who have 61 crafting, 49 FM, 65 Magic, 60 Mining, and 55 WC would not have 40 RC, unless you despise RCing, but then you would be a minority. I guess that it reduces the demand a bit, but Astral R'Crafting is still much more profitable than Nature R'Crafting.

But, because of the high requirements, the demand is still low.
If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

 

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

Or astrals did this socalled wild [wagon] dip or you are mistaking.... because Ive bought 10-15k astrals for 132 and 135gp ea!

Well all I have to say it 35K xp an hour sounds improbable.

 

 

 

35K xp= 4022 Astrals (not doubled)

 

 

 

4022/53 (crafted per trip)=75 Trips an hour

 

 

 

60/75=.8

 

 

 

60*.8= 48 Seconds trips which sounds outragously fast.

 

 

 

From what I've heard it's only 24k-26K/hr

~I found Double Cosmics slightly better. Even though they do take longer, they do sell better. I made Astrals from Level 70-85 RuneCrafting, just around 500k of them. I suggest either way, i find it's a matter of preference.~
