Well if you don't play a online game with the word 'gay' uncensored then you wouldn't know what were talking about (I think).

 

 

 

Anyway, I play halo 3 and call of duty 4 and every time someone get's killed in a unreasonble or just plan easy way they would say. 'Dude thats so gay! I shot him!' or along the lines of that. Now we all know the meaning of gay, but what is it in a video game term? I'm sure you all had (don't take it offensive) those 'gay' moments in video games. Like for example.

 

 

 

'Dude that guy sworded me at no shield! thats so gay!!'

 

 

 

OR

 

 

 

'That guy with the heli such a gay camper'.

 

 

 

I'm pretty sure most people encournterd the word gay in a video game term. So post your experience and what you think it's mean?

 

 

 

I think it means that the victim things something is unfair in a owange fashion. :uhh:

Yeah, the good old Shotgun V Knife encounter in CoD4 always spouts that kinda crap.

But I've only encountered it a couple of times in CoD4, because most players on the servers I use are pretty mature. But you occasionally get the 10-year old with a mic who screams insults at you if you shoot him, so it kind of balances out. :roll:

I have many friends who are openly gay. I'm so used to calling something unfair 'gay' that, even around them, I use the term in a fashion such as that. Like when something unfair happens in real life or someone is rude, or if I simply roll a bad roll when playing boardgames, I'll say 'that's gay' even around them. However, they don't mind, and they actually use the word in that manner that themselves.

 

 

 

I don't say gay in videogames or mouth off anyone. Hell, I don't even respond when someone tries to insult me [i just show them up next round in cod4]. And I know that this thread is about videogames, I just felt like sharing that.

Not many people i play with use the word. It's usually just younger people who don't really understand why they are saying that word instead of other words like lame or sucks.

Pretty much the same with me. I've never liked the use of the word in that context.

I don't use 'gay' for unfair things in games, I have more refined insults for people when they luckbox out on me or just don't play fair... like 3rd parties who shoot people in knife fights... spawn campers, etc.

Yes, the meaning of the word 'gay' has changed, no need for yet another thread over it.

The only problem is, IRL if you get knifed, you can't say "thats gay", lol.

 

 

 

Gay in video game terms = suck.

I used to use it as part of my day to day vocab, literally whatever is was you would be certain to hear a "dude, why was that so gay!" or "that is just pure gay!" but meh now in the past 2 or so years, my insults have become a little more refined and possibly more offensive... and to stop myself from this online I only wear my headset in match's with friends or private chats because they know what my vocabulary is like.

I don't use "gay" like that. The word shouldn't be changed to the meaning of stupid or anything like that, so I don't like people who use the word like that.

I don't say gay, if someone kills me like that, I make some kind of garbled "graah" sound, starting slightly loud and dying down, not an ascending type. probably started from killing so many Elites in Halo, it sounds like them when you stealth kill them, actually :oops:

It's not just video games. The word 'gay' in general has changed in meaning. Just about everyone I know uses the word 'gay' in place of stupid, unfair, etc. It's just changed in meaning.

i think tip.it is mature enough to see how eny idoit that play 360, so they dont think that rs is the only game with an avege age of 8
