Most of the time I listen to techno (trance, dance, hardstyle and hardcore techno). I listen to for example Armin van Buuren, Pryda, Above & Beyond but also The Stunned Guys.

To be honest, the only genres that I know of that I don't like at least one artist from are country, goregrind/porngrind, and polka. But if anyone has recommendations of good artists from those genres, I'd be more than happy to know.

But my favourite genres are:

- Metal and almost all of its subgenres. Mostly metalcore and (underground-ish) black metal though.

- Western art music/Classical. Mostly from post-romantic and early 20th century periods.

- Hip-hop. I don't really know enough about the genre to be able to classify what specific sub-genres I like.

- Indie.

Cool.

Intriguing.

Good goregrind is cattle decapitation. Im an avid Goregrind fan and they're some of the best there is imo.

- Most genres of metal (not going to bother listing them out)

- Electronica

- Drone (maybe considered a sub genre of metal but w/e)

- Classical (just starting to get into it more)

I don't really know anything of R&B I like, but I haven't looked hard enough.

Jesus Christ... all these sub-genres are confusing... Folk Metal, Porngrind? XD

Well, for me it's mainly Metal, Techno, Hard Rock, good rap, and some good atmospherical orchestral pieces.

Sage Francis, Pantera, Disturbed, Judas Priest, Hammerfall, Nightwish, Otep, Opeth, Anthrax, Kamelot. Just to name a few.

Anything besides Country, Rap, Reggatone, R&B, that kind of stuff.

Pretty much Techno, Classical, [Death] Metal, Rock, Alternative, Acoustic, Ambient, Electronic. There are probably more, I just can't think of them.

I'm a prog-rock/prog-metal person. I'm a huge fan of Dream Theater and Rush, and just starting to get into Yes and Genesis a little bit too. Other than that, I love classic rock/hard rock - Dire Straits, Billy Joel, some Foo Fighters (no, nevermind, lots of Foo Fighters) and various others. Those are my favourites right now.

So, progressive metal, progressive rock, hard rock and classic rock.

I'll listen to most stuff once, as long as it's not rap or country. Of course... Sturgeon's Law.

Being immature is a part of being mature.

I will willingly listen to anything so long as it is not Soulja Boy-type rap, some pop, or music where it's all just screaming. No screaming is preferable, but 2-3 seconds is fine.

I listen to good music. But I notice that many times I don't have much in common with metal.

What metal have you tried listening to? I find It's usually hard to find vantage point into, but rewarding if you do get to enjoying it. There's just too much terrible bands that people end up wasting their time. :(

p915h.gif

There are good songs in every genre.

I can listen to hard metal, but I'm finding now more andm ore I prefer something more melodic.

Some of my friends can't understand why I like Bob Dylan.

It's the lyrics mainly, he's an awesome poet.

I love the way Zeppelin fuse rock and blues, their sound is just pure awesome.

I must say that I haven't listented to a lot of things. The 'family friendly' stuff doesn't really interest me. And the more 'brutal' stuff just doesn't really appeal to me; I can't really take it very serious, but I don't think it's funny either.

Some things that do appeal to me are Crowbar, Sunn O))), Mastodon.

Listen to 3 Inches of Blood. Then you'll find it funny.

I love 3 Inches of Blood, have seen them live and think that everything about them rocks.

If you're looking for stuff thats heavy but at the same time melodic, I'd recommend some melodic Death Metal. Arch Enemy, In Flames, At the Gates.

OT: I listen to a lot of metal, with some jazz, a bit of dance and quite a lot of pop thrown in. I don't own many non metal albums though. I play in an indie rock band but I never listen to that kind of music. I've heard a few wombat songs but all the 'indie' that I've wrote have basically been pop/ rock songs. From the 'indie' bands that I hear about (The Wombats, Kaiser Chiefs) that's all I assume indie to be. Same way the "emo" bands (MCR, Avenged Sevenfold etc) are really just pop/metal.
